The fact that Mia is so close to 300k on this channel just shows how much we all appreciate her content, even though she always says this channel is "not main channel material"! But that makes it feel even more personal so :)
I just subscribed and it’s still at 299k :)
300k now!
yes i feel like a lot of us would watch anything she posted lol she definitely one of my comfort youtubers
301k a day later 🤣
You said that right, I just said the same thing out loud!!
I’m definitely not a pro but I’m the daughter of someone who taught me a ton about home renovation stuff. I just have to say how cool it is to see how much better Mia and her mom have gotten at projects like this! So proud to see them trying and learning new things and sharing it with everyone
Me: not renovating or tiling in my near future but watching the entire video because I love me some Mia content in any form ❤
no same!! i sat here and watched all 19 minutes as if i’m gonna be tiling in my dorm room or something 💀💀
MIA - I’d really love to see an update on your house that you’re renovating! What rooms will we see next? I miss the renos
Hi Mia!
Wanted to give you a tip with the tile edging! You don't have to outline the space with it. Basically you use it wherever the tile isn't butting up to something already existing. For example, if you tile halfway across a wall and stop mid wall. The edging then acts as just that, a faux edge giving a clean look to the cut edges of the tiles you'd end up seeing. Otherwise the underneath of your cabinet or other walls already serve as you clean edge.
Hope this saves you time and resources
This is great advice! Cause she will save money by not buying extra edging. 😎
Yes I was going to mention this 👏🏻
Mia, you do RUclips really well, you do kindness really well, you do surprises really well, and according to Stuart and your parents, you bake really well. That's pretty damn good, be proud! Edit: Oh yah, you cut hair quite well for a complete amateur.
Edit(again): Yes please on the shorts!
You forgot how she can sew from scratch so much better now
OMG PLEASEEEEE, I would love to see more videos like these!!! As someone who probably won't have a lot of money in the next couple of years and who wants to learn more on how to do things myself, I LOVE this content. Sure, I'll definitely be watching professional videos when doing a project, but watching someone who isn't a profession really helps. Especially since I don't know half the terms they say in those videos XD
I love that Mia shares these videos! Even though she’s not a professional it’s super helpful to see if it’s achievable for the everyday diy-er bc if Mia can figure it out, I might be able to too 😅 hopefully 🤞😂
i don’t know this channel feels more like mia maples
It always amazes me how you can be so active not only on one channel, but on both?! You literally posted 2 videos minutes apart. We appreciate your hard work sm❤
This should be a new series! You really made me feel like I can tile something ☺️
Genuinely any renovation from an amateur perspective would be so helpful! Could be an entire series because I would absolutely watch it! It's also super inspirational because home renovations are a lot of work and can be super expensive but this is really motivating!
Mia just has us all casually watching a tile tutorial for entertainment 😂 I love it
This is genuinely helpful for people like me, who are planning on very cheaply redoing a kitchen and can't afford to pay someone to help! This seems so much easier than I thought it would be!
I would love to see a series on how you did the whole kitchen!! I really want to know how to paint cabinets and install butcher block. Did you do it over the original countertops or replace it with the butcher block? Would love to know!!
This is SUPER helpful!! I have been curious about doing my own backsplash and honestly, hearing from a total amateur does make me feel like I could do it! I totally agree that tutorial videos can be too technical and even overwhelming. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would LOVE if this became a series.
Nothing makes me happier than a maples home decor video :))
Mia's room renovations a couple years ago actually inspired/convinced me that I could teach myself how to tile too ! Have since done my kitchen and two bathroom floors and backsplashes, would highly recommend for anyone wondering how attainable it is!!
love the concept of the video! It was really easy to understand and gave me confidence to do my own tiling in the future.
My husband and I are renovating most of our house by ourselves, so I loved the informative vibe of this!
Good job Mia :)
this kind of video is what I've been begging for!!! it lessens the amateur anxiety so much ty ty ty mia :,)
The tiles! The countertop! The cabinet color and hardware!!!! Omg you picked such a beautiful color scheme!!! This kitchen is BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
Mia, we literally all would watch literally anything you film. We committed to you. In other words, YES PLEASE share your housing renovation videos!
I just love listening. I am sensitive to tones of voice and I can always trust Mia's videos to have wholesome conversation without harsh angry tones.
I would love a short series on your kitchen!!! I love all your projects!
I was quoted $1200 to do my kitchen backsplash with marble subway tile. I bought a wet saw and did it myself for $450 for everything. Learned a new skill and saved $$
I absolutely loved this video. I'd watch every single one of those tutorials. It has always been my dream to be good at stuff like this. I was thinking about tiling my kitchen the whole week and this really helps.
As someone who will be trying this in the near future for the first time, thank you for making this video Mia! It's so encouraging and helpful. Exactly what I need, please do lots more :)
Omg I love those wood countertops. I been wanting to redo mine and want the exact same one. It’ll be great to get a video on it or where I could get them! They look so good!
Exactly what I said!! I've got a kitchen island I want to redo in butcher block. Love the look of it but would love to know how to install!!!!
The butchers block countertop you can order from menards ! It surprisingly isn’t that much cheaper than granite in my area
Clearly you’ve shown to us that you can get really good a things, I don’t think you realize how much you’ve accomplished and done not only in renovation and that’s why you’re insecure about yourself but you amaze me every time and you are really an inspiration so stop being so hard on yourself 🥰🥰❤️
Looks really nice to me. And you made it really understandable.
I have seen tiling my home many times but I never thought to try... But, when I first saw your renovations I thought you are an expert, but now I know it's because you try everything 😊😊
I love how you explain things and the fact that you re-explained it 2 more times. For me it really helps to understand what's happening and I really appreciate it. Thank you Mia, I would personally love to see more of this kind of content!
For context I just recently broke up with my ex fiancé (who I was with for 12 years) and I have been picking up small tasks around the house before we get it appraised to see what it's worth. I don't particularly like doing these things but watching you tackle these huge projects makes my spackling, sanding, and painting feel way easier.
Love these types of videos and the positive energy. When I'm having a bad day a Mia Maples video always cheers me up :) One of my fav youtubers
This is actually so awesome, I love seeing how far you’ve come with the reno videos. Some feedback for the silicone! If you spray it down with some soapy water before running your finger across it, it makes the application way easier (and a lot less sticky). I would also pull the oven/cooker out (doesn’t have to be all the way, just far enough to reach behind it) to tile behind it otherwise it’s going to be a struggle if you ever have to replace it 😬
I absolutely love your home renovation stuff! It’s so hard to find tutorials that actually make sense and that I can relate to! Keep it coming 😇
I wanna see long version of this kitchen and of all your projects!
I love the colour of the tiles 😍 you always do such a good job at everything you try
Congrats on 300k on this channel Mia!! 🎉
I seriously appreciate this video so much. I’ve always wanted to know how to do home renovating things and you made it so easy to understand ❤
This is the first time I've ever been lucky enough to be THIS early!💗 I love the granny goose cookie jar in the background 😍 Also, would love to see the content on updating the kitchen! Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I loved this video and the breakdown of the whole process, i would definately love more videos like this !!! You really inspire me to just try stuff and to learn new things and i love seeing how far youve come as well !!!
I would love to see a series of videos like this! Home renovations can be super overwhelming, but you taught me enough to make it achieveable. I would definetely like to redo my kitchen, the people who renovated it before clearly did not have this video lol
PLEASE do more of these tutorials ! I am decorating my flat and my toxic trait is thinking i can do it all on my own!
Omg this is the video I need! I understand all your instructions. I get so anxious doing a project because I am clueless and am certain I am going to destroy the project and have to put in more money. Thank you! Please make more of these videos! Help us out! Lol
I’m so glad that she entertains us!
Love this easy to Follow tutorial. Definitely interested in more of your home improvement projects done in this style
Omg please keep doing these! We are a military family looking to buy our first home, and I want to do stuff ourselves to save moneyyy! Please keep sharing!!
I would love to see more videos like this where you go through different home renovation projects and explain how to do it! 😍 Doing things yourself can save you sooo much money. My fiancé and I are looking to buy our first apartment together and I’m so excited to do some renovations myself even though I have 0 skills and experience 🙈
wow, thank you so much. my husband and I have been putting tiling off for more than a year, because it seemed so overwelming but this video really helped! also thank you for the possitive encouragement througout the video hahaha. made me believe in myself!
Love this tutorial. I used to cringe when you would do things but I would keep watching, hoping for the best. I am amazed at how far you have come and how well done this tutorial turned out. I love that you are so positive and encouraging. You do make it look attainable.
Wow 🙄🙄🙄
Loved this!!! Thanks for teaching us! I think I will do this in my kitchen now! Mia and her mom saving me $$ lol 💕
I would watch Mia do anything really. It is always so interesting 🤩
omgggg mia I love your home renovation videos please make more!!! (I also love your other videos but renovations are my favourite :)
Ahh I would love some more videos on what you are doing in your own space, like the kitchen!! An updated tour is neeeeded
yes miaa pls do more of these tutorials, i need it when im married and have a house later, to save moneyyy, hiring pros to do it is so expensiveee!! i need mia to teach me everything hehe
I absolutely want to see all the videos of your kitchen renovation! I love all of the Reno videos! They're my favorite. 😊
I love this! It makes think I could do this. You are great at explaining stuff!
I'm in the middle of a 3 yr reno job so I'm all consumed in reno content. So please yes more
I would love to see more amateur How To videos! I have lots of renos planned, this was such a helpful video!
do i came from the main channel? yes
do i own my own house? no
am i into interior designing? not really
am i just here to support our queen Mia Maples? Absolutely.
Joke asides. This is a very informative and clear video, I will definitely share this to my friends thats going to build their dream house.
I enjoy the renovation content, I’ve learned a lot from watching the different videos you’ve done. Thanks Mia! 🥰
Please do a series on the kitchen. We love the reno stuff!!
I absolutely love this it was so informative and easy to follow I really struggle with instructions and most instructional videos are a bit stressful for me so this was lovely to watch so thank you
This is so helpful. Now I want to tile my kitchen backsplash myself 😂
Please give us longer renovation videos, I adore and miss them 🥺
I seriously appreciate this video so much! Explained sooo well !!
You're awesome Mia!!! I turned around to my bare no backsplash kitchen and thought hmm... should I do it?!?
I don’t even own a house, but I’m here for the A+ tiling content
Laying tile is so fun and easy and so much cheaper than hiring a pro. This was an excellent tutorial.
I would love to see a shorts series on the kitchen!
soso talented!!! theres so much work n plan tht comes to renovating rooms n uve done it countless of times with just your family 💛
Yes Mia. I want to see every project you do!!!!
Me *not planning on tiling anything anytime soon* this is so helpful I can’t wait to tile something
This was beyond awesome - as many amateur videos as possible! Hoping to repaint our kitchen soon and looking at you for ideas!
I loved this video! I am interested in doing a tile backsplash in my kitchen, and you made it seem so much more approachable! Thank you for the motivation :)
Holy crap, 5 years and I've never been this early to a video ! Love you so much mia !!! Your ✨iconic✨
I work full time for a flooring provider and the GOLDEN rule is always add 10% so sending you a good star for that, boo. A lot of people don't think it's necessary and try to do it themselves without adding it and end up in a bad spot.
This was helpful, I really want to redo my bathroom, and this is helping me buildup the courage to try it myself, I would enjoy more basic tutorials like this, you explained really well I feel
I would love more videos like this! I'm purchasing a house in the near future and would like to do as many of the updates as I can myself
I love that you do these videos because if I ever have to do this it would be so much easier learning from an amateur that has made the mistakes already and has learnt the easiest way to do things.. learning from a professional is hard because they have done it for so long the way they do things takes a long time to learn so not easy to pick up first go lol
Plus I just love watching these videos.. so satisfying to watch 😍
I think you did a very good job explaining things, the only thing I think you might have missed is measuring out the center to start at like when you’re doing the backsplash, starting out where the stove goes would have been a better starting point and more professional looking but unless someone is looking for it they probably wouldn’t notice unless they were using a more intricate tile. I think you are doing an awesome job!
You mentioned this video on your main channel I was thinking but I've seen ever video on here I haven't seem this one then come over here to realize we got 2 Mia videos in the same day so happy
I don’t have my house but videos like these make me so excited to renovate my own house one day!
2 new Mia videos in a row??? yes please 😍
and please try all the glitter grout til you find the one…I can‘t get enough😍
I am currently working on tiling my kitchen backsplash too and yes you can do this! It is time consuming but so worth it
I absolutely loved this video! It’s exactly what I needed! Please do so many more!!!!!!
Thank you! I would love one on floors. I’m so nervous to do my bathroom.
And I have the time and such to do it all. Please do more! ❤❤❤ thank you for these!
Mia! Love this video, would also love to see more vids like this! Especially one for amateur sewing :) You’re a rockstar!
The shorts are definitely a yes!! Please.
I really wish you would have posted this a week ago 😔 me and my fiancé did our bathroom floor tile ourselves.... its not horrible, but it could definitely be ALOT better. I think this video would have really helped us do a better job. But... we will be doing a kitchen backsplash in the future, so hopefully that'll go better 😀
I have been wanting to do a backsplash in my kitchen but I’ve always been to intimidated. This video was so helpful! I learned so so much. Thank you Mia❤
The simplest 150 steps I have ever seen! Hhah I loved the video! Not going to be tiling any time soon but still was great to watch!💕
Love this!! Thank you 😊 I’d enjoy seeing a video of the kitchen reno!
Mia telling me I can do anything I put my mind to was something I didn't know I needed to hear 😭
Would love to see a shorts series on the kitchen ! 😀
You do so many things well. Give yourself some well deserved credit 😊
congratulations for 300k Mia🥰❤️
We love you Mia!!! Am so thankful for you and your craftyness
I love you explaining things in English!!
I saw lots of comments on the last video suggesting that the grout is actually clear silicone with a butt ton of glitter in it. I also saw that there is additive glitter to the grout you bought.
