- HOO BOY THIS IS THE BIG ONE!
My close friends will remember how many wips I went through over such a long period of time. I basically started working on this as soon as I finished Bruno lol.
When I conceptualized this narrative it was visually- if you've ever seen any of my video scripts before you will probably be familiar with how specific my visual direction can be. This is to say that I didn't name the characters before I started, but when I started I was playing a lot of New Pokemon Snap, and the man in this video has a vaguely similar hairstyle to Todd, and thus, I began referring to him as Evil Todd. And so that is his name. The girl I've been referring to as Not-Kylee Henke. You know, looking up Kylee Henke art now, she doesn't even look like her. But here we are, I suppose.
To summarize the story:
Evil Todd is a serial killer. He is evil. He loves being evil and killing people. He has decided to summon a demon to help him be more evil. He is hoping to form a contract with this demon to give him demonic powers so that he can kill more. To fascilitate this, he has kidnapped not-Kylee and plans to sacrifice her in the forest on this sigil he's painted.
Not-Kylee, however, is no pushover, and fights like hell to escape. She kicks him in the face, runs off, and he has to tackle her and drag her back to strangle her. As he does though, a drop of his own blood runs out of his nose and splashes onto the sigil! It lights up and Sachiel, a demon and fallen angel, rises up.
At first Evil Todd is delighted. Success! Only then he realizes the mistake he's made.
He is under the impression that demons fascilitate sin. He is wrong. Demons PUNISH sin.
Sachiel despises human beings above all else. He enjoys offering them opportunities to commit evil acts to watch them take those opportunities. To him it's proof that he was right- humans are innately corrupt. It is simply in our nature.
Evil Todd is evil. He kills people. Sachiel does not need to give him a chance to prove hes evil at his core, because he's already proved that. As a result, he takes great joy in tearing him apart. When he's done he frees not-Kylee because unlike Evil Todd, she hasn't done anything evil. His little bow is a way to say "See you later, when you too have done something to earn this."
TL;DR: evil todd tries to sacrifice not-kylee to summon a demon. the demon is summoned and is like lmaoooo you THOUGHT and then kills him and leaves.

before reading the description, i though that by accidentally getting his own blood on the sigil, he had accidentally reversed the roles, making himself the sacrifice and therefore having Sachiel dedicate himself to the intended victim as his "summoner"
I mistook Not-Kylee for the human in the "everybody likes you" video and thought this was perhaps how they met.
But wow, i was wrong. Still an awesome story though!

Bro that part when the fallen angel *ripped* him to literal shreds was so nice, it had such realistic movements and I rarely ever see that when things like this happen in animations
Sachiel's design is just so pleasing to me- I love his character, and I'm excited to see more of his story. Also that little bow at the end is very cool! I love religious-themed characters (despite not being religious) because they have such varied designs! The whole 'angels and demons' trope is very interesting to me, and I love when people expand upon it. I've been watching your channel since I was a wee 11-12 year old, and I have never seen an animation of yours that I didn't like. Keep making masterpieces!
Saaaame it's my favorite trope of all time. Angels and demons are so visually diverse, there's so many different varieties across different religions and fantasy, and they are SO fun to draw.
I loved this animatic sm! I love how the girl whose arms are tied actually puts a fight instead of accepting her fate and how that leads to the kidnapper getting murked by the demon (Idk their name, people are saying it's Sachiel? Idk their gender so Imma say they). Love how the demon is so casual about killing the kidnapper and freeing the girl before doing a bow and peacing out lmao, it speaks a lot to their personality

right?? i find that very new and refreshing, since throughout history, demons have been the symbol of evil, so seeing it in this new light is very pleasing, and i'd love to see Draikinator play around with this concept more!

Idk why, but something that I find quite interesting is that in a bunch of shots, Todd is standing in front of the moon like if it was a halo around his head
Especially at 1:21 it almost looks like he has wings made of the sky and a halo, but it could just be me overthinking this

Not gonna lie, this is so awesome that I want to fully animate it. The animatic is done so well that I could see it fully animated 6.6 I love how dynamic the frames are and the expressions. Hhhh, makes me wish I could do the large animations I have plans for.

I love how in a lot of shots before Sachiel shows up the moon in the background is behind Evil Todd's head giving the appearance of a halo like in a lot of religious art but after Sachiel shows up there are no more shots with this framing
Because the characters don’t have names I’m getting a laugh out of Evil Todd yelling “get back here Not-Kylee Henke!” When she attempts to escape
Sachiel will return when the world needs him most... or rather, when the world needs to burn the most i guess. I love this. It's animated and drawn beautifully as always.

I wonder how well that girl recovered after that experience. I almost want to think that the cat-demon-angel and the girl would meet again? That could build for an awesome story. This demon fella seems like such an awesome lad.

I would love to see more of Sachiel and the girl! Like, she could help him reform or something like that. It would be an interesting story. Of course, if you have your own story planned, I’m sure it will be amazing!

This is so incredibly cool, I’ve adored this song for a while and to see someone else use it to display their own characters and story really amazes me. I can’t imagine the amount of work that went into this and I can say without a doubt it paid off cuz this is so fluent! The story is very easy to follow even without the additional description (although I find them useful more than not) and the characters are distinct in their own ways, making them easy to identify- even without color! Sachiel’s design is really stunning and how you made them move around was fun to watch. Overall amazing job, I have no doubt I’ll be replaying this again and again in the future aha!
Also, I just realized that the heart shape on Sachiel’s chest is actually a heart-shaped hole. Overall, I love the character designs!

I've been hit with an Uno reverse. Based off the title and then the first minute or 2 I was expecting this to be something along the lines of a love story gone wrong. I didn't check who the animator was before I watched so I was totally surprised that this was a Sachiel story piece.

I debated to myself for a long time if I wanted to put him in the thumbnail... it's not a SECRET this is a sachiel piece, i didn't even realize that you wouldnt see him until the very end until i storyboarded it but... i think the surprise is fun heheehe. Glad i got someone.

Okay just wow. This is absolutely amazing. Both art and story wise. (Can't forget about the music, that is amazing too! Definitely going in my playlist.) Out of all your characters I have seen, Sachiel is 100% my favorite. I love their lore, and just the idea of fallen angels as a whole. This and your "Essence" animation memes have inspired me to remake one of my fallen angel themed Ocs I made a few years ago! Though that also kinda sucks, I was working on a different project, and can't do it now cause I'm obsessed with remaking this character. I just happen to have to make up a whole world for a lot of characters I make, which can take a while. This is one of those cases, as they don't fit in with my other world. I doubt anyone cares about this, so Imma stop rambling and move on with my day. Good day/night to whoever is reading this.

I already had a theory of the history of this before I saw the description.
Here is my "version": Evil Todd kitnaps notKyle to offer her as a sacrifice to an evil entity he is fixated in and wants to hive that entety a sacrifice on their honor. The girl kicks him and runs and he chases her and returns her to the symbol. In the middle of strangle her a drop of his blood falls being that what makes the entity appear. He at first is excited to see it but then realises, the blood that summoned the entity belongs to him therefore the demon thinks HE is the sacrifice and tears him apart. Then liberates the girl as a sign of gratitude because it thinks the girl is the one that granted the sacrifice in its honor.
This is obviously not canon in any way but if was my interpretation (before seen the description) I really liked the "devils PUNISH evil" thing because it's pretty accurate and a great plot twist

This is amazing but Fsdkfsdjdwkf the little run at the beginning killed me
THIS IS SO GOOD AAAAAA
honestly im loving the body language and facial expressions of these guys as well as the shot composition. there's a lot of very dynamic poses and the body language is very expressive too! some of the walking feels a bit off ( I get it, that stuffs hard to get right) like for example around 0:59 when hes at that (honestly very nicely drawn) low angle shot, and hes bouncing a little too fast given his kinda half stiff posture (his knife arm looks very stiff contrasting his other arm which is being very expressive and fluid) during those frames. especially compared to the girl's bounce speed around 0:40 where she is very much running at top speed for her life (which is Very Well reflected by her posture in those frames). the chase at 1:11 was also a bit off to me, honestly i think just adding shadows to the ground beneath them would have fixed it because right now its a bit hard to tell where the ground is in relation to them which makes them look kinda floaty ( side note when he pounces and his apron kinda looks like a wolfs tail, making him look like a savage animal, it's GREAT I love it) And then every consecutive frame after that is just awesome and I love it especially the demon's lil bow at the end.
I hope I didn't sound too negative because honestly I LOVE this animatic and there are SO MANY things you did well here I already mentioned how expressive everyone is and the shot composition so im just gonna list a few of my favorite bits in chronological order along with why i think they are so great. 0:00 body language already, demon is incredibly well posed in a way that Already conveys a lot of personality. 0:16 body language/expressions, this guys turn around with his delighted smile and the body language he's showing with his arms right off the bat shows us this guys evil and loving it 10/10 this guy would be fun if he wasn't so murderous. 0:37 composition, he stands up and his legs are framing her as she runs away is chefs kiss, incredible use of framing. 1:04 composition, him pointing the knife with the moon directly behind him creates good contrast which helps draw the viewers eye to him, this shot also follows the rule of thirds specifically with the focal point being in the upper right corner A+. 1:33 just god that is a NICE shot with the moon behind the wings and the horns kinda rising up to meet it i kinda wish we held this shot longer but I understand, the song is only so long and we gotta time the lyrics right. 1:37 movement, the dust off is ON POINT and very well done being very smooth. 1:40 expressions very good and clearly shows his realization of "oh shit I'm the one in danger here NOT her". 1:46 - 1:52 whole sequence has great body language, expressions, shot composition, we start off just the demon, hand sassily on hip in a very dynamic pose, then lifting the guys chin up with the hand (god that shoulder and hand are good) smugly mocking him in sync with the lyrics, more taunting this time in a pov shot from the guy, demon is smirking wildly and continues to shatter any hope of survival. 1:57 dynamic body language, DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN THIS SHOT??? incredible low angle, hand is still on hip, moon in the background, holing the guy by the throat one handed grinning wildly, he is struggling this is good he sucks, shits about to go down. 2:04 the birds are his friends hehe :} 2:08 Shit has gone down we are in a black and white silhouette now with gloriously dynamic pose from our demon whilst ripping the guys arm off. 2:22 body language, demon is incredibly refreshed after that brutal murder, and that's great characterization. just everything that comes after this is incredible, demon reaching forward, cutting the ropes, shes confused, demon bows so very gracefully and evaporates away I love it its great.
I can tell you've got a lot of skill, I'm looking forward to checking out your other stuff and seeing as you continue to improve!

I gotta say, after seeing so many godawful romance stories about an unlikeable serial killer who you’re supposed to love because he’s “hot”, (hate-reading can be as painful as it is fun) seeing a serial killer character get shredded like Parmesan by a demon cat is pretty cathartic I gotta admit.
(Also the visual effects here are ON POINT, specifically the blood in the aforementioned Parmesan shredding and the end where Sachiel disappears into into the wind)
I saw Sachiel in the opening frames and was like:
"Oh yeah this gonna be good. Wanna know why? Cuse ma fave character is here!"
