In 1973 American Family was the hot show. I was glued to the tv set - right in front of us - the wife *( now deceased) found out her husband *( now deceased) was having an affair - son Lance came out on TV.( also deceased ) Pat Loud was a glamorous women off the pages of a Ralph Lauren catalogue. I believe it took place in Santa Barbara, which also looked very glamorous. All three of you need to watch it. I live in the Midwest, and it was my first exposure to a California lifestyle which looked enticing.

Thankfully Brandy schooled Heather about the pronunciation of Givenchy. The brand is around 80 years old ffs.
Trust me, Heather didn't even catch it... 🙄 I have noticed that every regular corrects Heather's multitude of mispronounced words, or adds to the convo when info is missing or just plain wrong. Brandy does it or more like has to every time, and in a perfectly subtle way.

It's literally her, her husband, and idk if her assistant helps with just the podcast or everything, but yeah the misinformation, and mispronounced shit gets out of control. I was a spelling bee queen by 3rd grade, and have aced every English class in my life, so sometimes I get rage from all her phonics issues, and how Invisalign would GREATLY help her with certain words etc.. 🤯😅

Listen I’m not someone that gets up in arms about everything, but that part really bothered me. I could see how (IMO, I hate when people assume but I’m going to a little bit) Heather knew it was inappropriate and I was really disappointed J & B didn’t get it.
Abt 15 years ago in my home state CT (and NY too) made laws against displaying nooses for intimidation/harassment. While Kylie’s necklace was “for fashion”…it’s still not okay. I mean correct me if I’m wrong… it’s not like she did it to spotlight the black community’s trauma & raise money for a related cause, she used the black community’s trauma for attention.
There’s never been a good argument to have one displayed in ANY manner and even more gross considering Kylie’s children are half black.
I still have my Queer as Folk complete series box set. 💜 I haven't had a DVD player in years...but I just can't part with it. 🤣

God Bless you for taking care of your parents. I took care of my mine and hubby's and I am glad I did. Being a caregiver is not only hard constant work but people many times become frustrated and angry with their illness. As the caregiver you have to wear so many hats. Please make sure you take some time for yourself I know easier said then done but you deserve it.

American Family was terrific television, the first reality show I can remember. Pat Loud came to New York in the late 70's and worked public relations. She was a wonderful person. Lance also lived in New York then and he was such a gentleman. It's like he was spoofing and being outrageous for the cameras. RIP both.
There was a show called "What's my line " that sounds like your imposter show idea. It was popular in early 60's.

There's a movie on HBO MAX from 2011 called "Cinema Verite" about the making of the PBS Documentary "An American Family" with Diane Lane as Pat Loud, Tim Robbins as Bill Loud and James Gandolfini who was the Producer. Worth watching especially if you've seen the original or know about it.
Remember if you live in an earthquake-prone area - it’s also a good idea to keep a “get home bag” in your vehicle.

I love the show "Real Friends of Weho"!!!! Give it a chance people! Only the first episode has aired! The show has two married couples, a couple of super drama queens, and West Hollywood.... what's not to like. Much better than the Real Housewives of wherever!!

I remember watching that show, American Family, on PBS during the 70's. It definitely was a more pure form and trend setting for future shows. I also loved "Ethics In America" that had a panel of well know leaders discussing ethical scenarios.

I watched the American Family PBS series when it aired. It was groundbreaking TV, however, it was a one and done. Filming a family in CA was an eye opener for some parts of the country.
A lot of the dislike towards The Real Friends of WeHo is simply because Todrick Hall is on it. Todrick's been exposed multiple times for not paying his dancers/staff and been really shitty towards his employees. There was also a backlash to this show because It was also revealed one of the original guys cast on this show was also on OnlyFans and the rest of the cast refused to film with him so he was fired.
I do think there's hypocrisy with Larsa, I think if that was a man who is now dating a old friend/ex colleague daughter then people would be outraged
