  • Steven Wilson :
Relax as always, but perfectly aware of today events, a barefoot like on stage Steven Wilson, speaks to Morow about his new record "To the bone". Though the most poppy and happy musically speaking he'd ever made, this record deals with the dramatic events that affect his country and the whole Europe these past days and months.

i hope his label pushes it harder than theyve ever pushed anything before. this album could be huge if it had the backing

Music is written by artists & most artists are going to express themselves by writing about what is going on in the world. Just as music from the 60's was far more political than anything coming out now. To expect artists, whether painters, writers, musicians, etc to not express themselves is pretty closed minded.

Is it only me, or they are talking about pop music as if S.W is NOT successful enough?

He's successful but he isn't a recognised name outside of the progressive world.

I'm kinda glad that there is no more PT. Haven't enjoyed a minute he's wrote since then so it would be sad if all that was under that name. To each their own, though.

I think Steven's music since going solo has been his most creative, unrestrained and cohesive. Just my opinion.

Doing his Roger Waters I hate Trump thing very disappointed

Exactly, its just jumping on the bandwagon. I wouldn't have voted for Trump but it worries me the amount of hate directed at him which is completely unjustified. He's only been in office for a few months and yet the haters seem to want to blame everything on him. If there is just one truth then SW looks no nearer to finding it than anyone else. I had hoped for more intelligence from SW.

You need to accept the fact that SW is merely writing from his own perspective, he's not pushing an agenda like you so wish he were. You're trying to find things to complain about. Do you expect him to avoid the topic completely, or if he were to tackle it, tackle it in a way that would satisfy *you* personally? Is that creative freedom? I'm just pleased you don't work for a record label (unless you do, in which case, god forbid)

Music should be an escape from politics, I really don't see any politics of hate out there, just different ways of dealing with things. Taking sides only will alienate 50% of an audience - not a good idea.

Steve Smith It's really disappointing. Especially that he justifies it by saying things are so bad it'd be irresponsible not to address it. I thought SW would be sophisticated enough not to fall into the "hateful" "stupid" rhetoric trap. Things are pretty crazy right now, but it's partly because people are so polarized. Nobody's willing to converse and try to see things from another perspective.

So you want him to just be neutral and bland? Or restrained and not voice his opinion? People have opinions. You'll either get over it and enjoy his music, or not :)

G Novak thanks for that answer. I couldn't agree more
