I think a few months increments is ok. But you can totally feel and see that it can wear you out being cooped in a car or van for months on end. There’s a sense of freedom but there’s also the feeling of feeling trapped inside such a vehicle.
The price of van living now is getting beyond peoples pocket if they don't have extra income......offcourse I wouldn't buy a usa van that only does 18-20 mpg 😂😂😂😂
@@stum8374 Contrary to the hype, diesel won't get you the mpg you think. Definitely not worth the extra maintenance and repair, or the hassle of limited access to diesel. Just to get an extra 1-2 mpg? The math isn't good. Euro design platforms can't tow and are severely under powered as well. Maybe I'm missing something
Oh Gosh! I had a feeling this is what we were going to hear! I'm a mixture of sad and excited, but also looking forward to seeing what you're going to be doing. Somehow I have a feeling it involves backpacking in Europe, but I could be totally wrong! Just a thought that that would be something you'd be really good at creating content about! I can't believe it's been over 3 years already since I first started watching your vids, and a little less since I met and totally fanboyed over you at Descend on Bend in 2021. I was just a couple months into my own journey and girl if I only knew what was in store for me. You and Mariah provided so much support for my mental health as you articulated everything I was feeling on the road. I finally sold my rig last year to hike the PCT (at a $9000 loss, hello pandemic pricing) and I still miss it, but I'm on to different adventures now. Thank you for being the wonderful fairy princess of vanlife that you have been over the years, and good luck in your future adventures.

Hi Maddie, I'm a British costume designer (with vanlife ambitions) and I've done a bit of fabric dyeing in my time. If you can, always opt for a washing machine dye, you can hardly ever get it as even by hand. Dylon is a good brand. All the best for your future plans. Amy

Wow nice work, really i admire you doing all those things by yourself. Especially the woodworks. I've noticed you find it hard to return your cushion cover. The way i do it is, i have the cover turn inside first so that the fabric will slide smoothly with each other not with the foam just like replacing you pillow cover. Waiting for your next video always.
The van looks great Maddie. A year from now you’ll be settled into your new adventure, and the anguish you feel at letting go of your trusty little home will be a great happy chapter you can always reflect on. I sold my Stratocaster guitar a few years ago, and it felt like I was breaking up with a girlfriend.
Your story with bleach reminded me of my story with bleach. I bought a brand new pair of jeans… this was mid ‘70s. Slightly faded was “in” and I was told it would make them more flexible too. So I put them in a bucket with half a gallon of undiluted bleach. They were in the garage soaking, and I forgot about them for a couple weeks. I finally went out to check, lifted them up, they were closer to white than blue. I shook them to get the wrinkles out and the legs flew off. It had broken the cotton fibers down do much, they fell apart. Anyway…

I’m not surprised. I had a feeling this was coming. I got the sense that you were ready to close this chapter of your life and move on to the next. Nice work! I’m impressed with your skills at such a young age. PSA, remove the electrical tape from your toilet vent and get a hose clamp. You can also get a shrink wrap, rubber clamp. You do not want to use electrical tape because when it becomes hot, it will release it said he said and start to release the joint.
