Something to consider, especially for work-spaces, is electrical outlets. Personally I consider two outlets for every running meter of wall to be a good base line. Also, regarding the placement of outlets, you are still young, limber and flexible. But with ageing you loose that, and then the accessibility of outlets becomes much more important. Again, my personal preference is for outlets to be placed at a height of about 80-100cm instead of the more commonly seen 20-30cm. With the low placement you have to bend over or stoop down to access and use the outlets. Which is made even more difficult when they are hidden below and/or behind furniture, not to mention to being more susceptible being kicked or bumped by feet or moving furniture. In my opinion, having outlets easily accessible also enhances safety if something fails somehow. Especially in the kitchen you should consider installing more outlets, what with all the appliances that are part of a modern kitchen: Wasserkocher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, Eierkocher, mixer, sandwich maker, waffle maker, etc. Using power strips, though possible, clutters up the countertop, and constantly plugging and unplugging appliances (especially in the middle of food prep) gets messy and risky. Congratulations on prepping your first workspace. Having the proper tools for the job just makes the job so much easier.
A pressure washer may be an asset. I love Ellie’s humour…….shaking the paint in the background while Maddie appeared to be oblivious ha! You girls are an inspiration 🐨🦋
Aldi. A grocery store. Has shopping carts that you put a quarter in the slot on the cart to use it and when you are done, you put the cart back and get your quarter back.
A job well done ladies! I'm sure that this goes a long way to making the home your own👍. The workshop looks really functional and organized. Nothing like a fresh start 🙂
I cannot believe how much stuff was left in that house. That makes your job so much harder! If thus us what the shed looks like the house will be beautiful. It looks so well built. You did such a careful respectful job😊
One thing I like is that even though you've learned a lot about building and stuff for the US, you aren't ignorant that in other areas of the world things are done differently and that you are willing to learn the new methods, it's really refreshing,
Looks sooo good! When we were renovating our little tiny home it really did always feel like there were was never enough hours in the day AND things always took so much longer than we thought! Sending love to you two!
Making your space yours is really important. It's nice to have the things that you like around.❤ Very impressive! It looks so good! You two are having fun even though it's kind of grueling work.😁
Great job ladies - I think it's a perfect balance between practical and aesthetic. The green door and steps are a nice highlight, and my only suggestion would be to add some lighting over the workbench. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make of the rest of the house!
who would have thought that a girls' trip to Guatemala would be where you met Elli! what a pretty home. proud of you ladies in rolling up your sleeves and cleaning and beautifying this place up
Why do I feel it’s therapeutic to watch somebody else clean and fixed to see the before and after😂 Absolutely amazing for you two to be tackling this huge project. It’s so fun to watch what you accomplish every week. thanks for sharing . 💚
Looks great, Maddie! The only thing is, in order for it to be a PROPER workshop, you need to add some cobwebs back in, spread a bunch of sawdust around, disorganize everything, and scatter around a couple dozen empty beer cans! Only then will it be truly perfect! ;) Seriously, great job to the Dynamic Duo!
I am loving these videos and cheering you on as you two work so hard cleaning out the old, wiping away generations of spider webs, repurposing where possible, taking stuff to be recycled, scrubbing, painting and transforming the space into what truly is both functional and attractive. I can’t wait for the next video.❤️ Also, Eliza is looking right at home. So sweet.
Super Inspirational. I purchased my first home a few months ago, and overwhelmed with useless treasures left by the previous owner who passed away in a hospital and (adult) kids took what they wanted and left the rest for me to deal with. But got a good price, but going to tackle the shed this weekend with a few friends after watching this video. #SheShed
Those little pewter and ceramic plates you have hanging up - I have some I bought as well during my travels in Germany. I stayed in a small town near Essen in Nordrhein Westphalen. I still have those little plates on my hutch today, all these years later. :)
Wow it looks so good! I was recently watching a video from the vanwives, they were working on the ceiling and Crystal got something in her eye and got a chemical burn. I normally don't wear protective eye gear when painting but will be from now on, especially when working on the ceiling and looking up. Anyway, just wanted to pass along. So excited for the garden! ❤️
I love your new work space. It looks great! I am glad you did it. It is much cleaner and now no so dusty. I would probably have done the same too. Much more organized. Thanks for posting Maddie. Eileen
Good job in redoing your work shop. The satisfaction you get from swinging a big hammer and destroying what is needed to do what you want with the work shop. It is good to have a organized work space to know where everything is. Good to see your wearing masks. Alot of work but when your completely done .How rewarding it will be.
Woohoo such an achievement! Am sure you will be so inspired now to tackle the rest of your plans with the spick and span toolshed to back you up. You two make a great team.
A good shop vacuum is great to have for cleaning up that old stuff along with dust and cob webs. It helps get rid of it instead of it all going in the air.
Hi Maddie... I'm very impressed with the decision to clean up the tool shed first and foremost; very smart thinking. This tool shed will be central to all your upcoming renovations over the next few years. Cheers from Canada.
By the way, when you try to drill into the brick wall, if it doesn’t easily go in, it might be because you’re drilling into a pebble. Sometimes they mix small pebbles into the cement to make a brick walls. Not just sand and cement.
Like so many have said here...I am really enjoying you and Ally "enjoying" make your new home your own. "Youth" helps for all that energy you put out. It's looking great!!! Can't wait for the next installment 👋👋👋
🔴 A quick tip to you both lovely ladies when painting. Get some buckets of water and placed in the room while decorating and the water will absorb the paint fumes. That is a trick when I was a youngster many moon's ago.
Yes Maddie, you missing something ;-) You had the drill in drill mode only. Nice for wood but not for brick wall. You see the knops near the front? there you switch to drill hammer mode. way more easier to get the job done ;-) But please only use it for brick and stone. Otherwise yes the correct bit can help too :D all bits for stone have little flat wings on their heads. golden ones normaly for wood and the black ones are for metal. In the mean time you both doing great. Do your thing your way and don´t let you get distracted. One week for this stuffed room is nothing. So well done
Excellent! So proud of you 🎉
Thank you😊
Im waitin for the time , wen maddie sister will again share to us her cooking ❤

Maddie, You and Ellie make such a great team. Both are crazy but in a good and funny way, never change.

It’s on the list !
Very nice.😊

Job well done! That organization will really help you get your jobs done more efficiently!
A good shop vacuum is great to have for cleaning up that old stuff along with dust and cob webs. It helps get rid of it instead of it all going in the air.

Amazing accomplishment! I am in awe of the two of you and proud of you!
If you're going to do a lot of spray painting, you can get pistol grip handles that snap onto the nozzle. They're so much easier on your hands.
Hay there you too when you get done moving that heavy stuff you have some good muscles. Love both of you ❤❤
