      We do as well, it opens the rest of the living space up and at the same time closes off the toilet area.

      Thanks so much, we like how it increases the living space inside and moved the gray water tank weight more toward the center of the vehicle. Also giving you the option to clean off muddy boots or pets before they enter the space.

    2003, we built our ExpeditionVehicle with a rear entry.
    We travel through areas with traffic in the left lane ('RHD', Right-Hand Drive).
    .
    A side entry would sometimes be out into the traffic lane.

    • @roughroadequipment
      @roughroadequipment  Месяц назад

      Yes that is true, we have built them many ways. A rear door is certainly an option but the you would generally loose the garage area or have to move it to a different section to store any larger items. There is always a trade off depending how you like to travel.

    We built our ExpeditionVehicle with the mass between the axles... zero over-hang.
    .
    We think this helps with handling.

    • @roughroadequipment
      @roughroadequipment  Месяц назад

      Yes it can, we also have our Gray and black tanks in the center near the front, There are always drawbacks to different designs, It just depends if you priority is more space or more maneuverability. Rarely do you get both.

    Small windows set high!
    Small targets for branches and jealous passers-by.
    .
    2003, we built our ExpeditionVehicle with small windows.
    We mounted these at our eye-level standing inside, about 8'/2.3m above pavement.

      The box can be designed however you would like, with many size window options and whatever location you like. All our hatches have metal frames with robust locking systems and double pane glass windows for added security.

      You don’t get it? Are you daft? Of it hasn’t sold in 3 years than clearly they’re asking too much. The segment appeals much more to the blue-collar person who can’t afford a $400,000 camper. CEOs and executives that can afford it don’t have the interest in camping. They just want to fly to their condo in the mountains.

    • @roughroadequipment

      The Fuses are a circuit breaker style fuse holder, should it need to be replaced with a fuse it can be. but generally a reset is adequate unless there is a major problem.

    That whole ladder system is an accident just waiting to happen, no hand rails. Unless this is only for Australia and South Africa. What if it's the winter time and there's ice? What are they suppose to hold on too? Luck ??

    • @roughroadequipment
      @roughroadequipment  9 дней назад

      It's actually a very common solution for vehicles like this. A hand rail system could be integrated into the side of the box for customers who would be concerned about that. However, we have used this very vehicle many times in winter conditions and had zero issues with the the steps. The pooched metal on the step surface provides a lot of traction and is not comfortable to walk on barefoot because of that feature. There is a lot of traction, even in icy/snowy conditions.

    Why there is no passthrough the driver seat?

    • @roughroadequipment
      @roughroadequipment  Месяц назад +4

      With this setup we used a cab and chassis setup. With a cutaway chassis we could have done a passthrough, Not every customer wants the pass through and it limits the back seat capacity as well. But as we build these custom to order, we can build it either way. Whatever you like.

    Would like to see a video of this doing legitimate off-roading.

    • @roughroadequipment
      @roughroadequipment  3 дня назад

      Seeing as how this is to be a future customers vehicle we don't take it on legitimate off-roading trails to protect the integrity for them. The capabilities are as to be expected with a lifted large tire offroad house. Sand and rocks and slight off-camber are not an issues but you are not doing dense forests with low hanging trees or offroad trails with large shelfs and serious off-camber spots. Snow is no issue either as we have tested it in those conditions. The off road capabilities are to get you to those slightly harder to get camping locations where there will be less crowding.
