That's if you are aiming for the highest rank you can reach, of course, playing casually is fine too.
People who make their own decks always feel invited to shove that fact it into everyone's face. They're like the nazi of card games demanding that everyone plays the same way they do (i.e. makes their own decks). I think they're just frustrated because their crap decks often get blown away by finally tuned netdecks.
I think the to netdeck or to not netdeck is a very silly discussion. The effectiveness of a deck in hearthstone can really be boiled down to: can you play minions that do not get removed while removing theirs effectively? Can you be aggressive while conserving enough life total to win? Can you get value from your suite of removal so that you two for one or more your opponent? Can you make big tempo swings? Do you have comeback mechanics? If all those requirements are met then the deck is effective so decks will always tend to run the cards that are the best at doing those things. Hence sludge belcher being in so many decks. Hence haunted creeper and harvest golem being good cards. Hence why every deck out there basically needs some sort of AoE as a functional comeback mechanic. That's why all the decks out there tend to gravitate towards the same cards. Take druid for example. Is anyone ever going to make a druid deck without two innervates? No. But then you need lots of card draw to make up for that. Then all the decks in Druid end up having two ancients of lore and two innervates. So realistically a change of one or two cards in a netdeck is more significant then people give it credit for. Even if you're making an original deck you'll still probably end up with 50-70% of the same cards that decks of the same class run.
magdsmad Of course, and the reason for that is the card pool is very little right now. Possibly more diversity will come with new expansions, although I don't have much faith in that...
There will be more diversity but the problem is essentially that cards fall into 3 subsets. Good enough. Not quite good enough and absolute trash. For example. Mechwarper, Hobogoblin, Nerfed undertaker. Another thing to note is the reason hobogoblin isn't a popular card is because while it itself is decent. Most cards that synergies with it are trash while mechwarper is a good sticky two drop that synergies with good mech 1,2,3,4,6, and 8 drops even though it's not as spectacular as hobogoblin can be at times. It's infinitely better because the things you run alongside it are good on their own
Playing copy/pasted net decks has the unfortunate side effect of your opponent knowing exactly what you're playing after your first turn. Innovative spins on well established net decks or even totally new ideas (rare) can surprise your opponent and maybe some of the cards they kept in their opening hand didn't help them against the surprise.
Because Trump is classy as fuck. It's like all those anime characters with glasses that keep pushing it up their nose every time they explain something.
I currently play a personal version of this deck (no legendary, only one prep beacause I have only one) and I LOVE IT. I don't play it in ranked, though, beacause i thought it was not that strong in the meta, but now I'll give it a shot. thanks, Trump. you gave value to my season enjoyment :)
He did try quite a lot of "own" decks after gvg came out but none of them really were viable. Now where it's been a while it's very unlikely to create a new viable one as most things got tried out already.
Trump is explaining the reasonning behind his deck choice, and giving interesting insight on the meta, as a pro player, and a defender of the value who gathered a lot of data. If you're not interested in that, fine, but don't compare it with kripp's bullshit. Plz.
***** Did I say at any point "eaaur it's baad !" ? No I just said plz don't compare relevant information to kripparian's nonsense. Now if you don't want to know why he's playing the deck, I couldn't care less. Go for it.
I like Trump channel more than any other HS channel on youtube, it's relaxing, no hate whatsoever, just the pleasure of watching someone good play the game.
"What a nice guy; so complimentary." "I will hunt you down!" I had an arena match where the opponent and me spammed each other emotes, it's fucking fun when people aren't bm'ing with them.
Someone asked which card you'd pull -- Edwin Van Kleef imo. In the current meta there's so much silence. More often than not he ends up being a 3 mana 2/2. You'd be better off with a shade, Harrison, Southsea Deckhand, or more card cycle.
29:38 Could've = Coin > Oil > Hit Face w/ SI > Hit Dr Boom w/ Weapon > Blade Flurry Clears Board, Saves Loatheb, Deal 12 to Face, Probability of Saving SI assuming Boom Bots Hit Face, AND saves Sap for later use.
Second violet teacher, shiv, second earthen ring are all good in the deck, even southsea, but maybe less so with this list due to it already being fairly minion heavy so need for it as an oil receiver, but it's still strong against hunter for secrets.
I never ever EVER netdecked in my life. Saw some decks here some things I discover some things myself.. Got up to 12 feels good. I think I have a paladin for legendary but I just cant play that much paladin :D
Zevvion I can get higher than 12 with my paladin deck I think. I'm f2p and like fun stuff. Made a murlock dek a day ago cause why the hell not I had 1000 dust. But I have the feeling that past 12 there kinda comes a point where there are a shitload of decks with huge legendaries. And I just cant play one deck all the time it's not fun.
As a reasonably new Hearthstone player (and current scumbag Hunter) I have to say I'm suprised at how well Blizzard have done with class balance. All classes have strong cards and combos, and there isn't really a bad hero as far as I can see. Obviously RNG makes things borked as hell in the grand scheme of things but hey, come on... who doesn't love hearing "did someone say bomb..?" I just think it's cool they made every class fun to play, whilst still making them pretty much just as viable as one another at a competitive level.
I'm not great at the game, but I suppose Backstab is always keepable. Healbot because he only got one in his deck and he's prolly up against a face hunter which is gonna hurt if he's not able to restore some health. I don't know the exact mindset behind keeping the Shredder, but since it's overall a high value card and prolly his best possible turn 4 play, I'm pretty sure it's reasonable.
Mech druid and ice mage arey favorite and most consistent winning deck I just rotate through the three different versions of them as I start to loose with one build
Violet Teacher can be immensely annoying when run with Oil, there's nothing worse than the oil hitting a new summoned 1/1 only for it to be dealt with so easily next turn.
I played against this rogue just now in fact. I put down the trade prince gallywix and the guy literally had no idea what to do with it. I ended up getting like a 10 for 1 with two saps, 2 evis, 1 backstab, a shiv, and a sprint stolen plus favorable trades.
I can't wrap my mind around why you would have sapped Dr. Boom on the end of the video instead of trading SI into Dr. Boom -> Tinker -> Hit face with weapon -> Blade Furry. I was looking at comments and not many people said anything about that. Is there something that I'm missing or did you just want double Dr. Boom?
akeron1an just replace thalnos for another good card in the deck, it does not need to have a similar effect. I suggest southsea deckhand or a second violet teacher
Ass blade is really bad in oil rogue. People need to remember this is a tempo deck. It never has the luxury to spend almost a whole turn playing a weapon that you can't combo oil bladefury on. Ass blade is basically like a 5 mana deadly poison cause 90% of the time you won't be able to use the charges anyway.
I love when you get a mana addict from your shredder and the hunter ignores it to hit face. Next turn, double poison, prep tinkmaster's, tinkmaster's. Bye Bye hunter.
Hey Trump. In your last game when your opponent played Dr. Boom why didn't you coin oil, hit Boom, Hit face with SI7, Blade Flurry and redagger? It would have been painfull to take 7 damage but it would have cleared the Boom and not given him the option to replay it and get 2 new bombs in the process.
Can someone give me mulligan ing advice for this deck? I noticed trumo kept s1 and deadly poison, does this hold for all matchups? What about prep is that kept usually?
Generally it's personal preference on how to mulligan but Prep is the rogue equivalent of innervate and so you generally do keep it in the opening hand in all matchups because you can gain tempo by doing removing a creature and playing your own in the same turn in the early game. Against control decks you can keep sprint if you have prep. Against most decks you want backstab si:7 agent deadly poison and you almost always keep Si:7 if you're going second because you can coin him out. Against aggro decks you keep blade flurry if you have deadly poison. against hunter and paladin blade flurry and fan of knives will generally be great to have in the opening hand. Although against paladin you usually want to save it for muster for battle. Against hunter it's useful in removing a lot of their minions in one go like abusive sargent webspinner haunted creeper tokens leper gnomes etc.. Against druid you might want to keep sap in case the double innervate something stupid out on turn one and you sap it they have basically no plays for 3 or 4 turns.
I think this face meta forgot the reason you must never go face with minions on the enemy side: shattered sun freaking cleric. I've started running it and it's netting me some nice wins! Also the gilblin stalker looks like a very good 2 drop with the clerics in the deck. What do you guys think?
AmanI berserker would be better if they're just ignoring your minions. Gives them an oh shit moment and they might make bad plays. Either way it ends up a 6 attack minion
could you guys help me? i am kinda new, and i have around 800 dust. what should i craft? i believe i want to build a druid deck, but is it better to craft a few epics or shall i wait for dr. boom?
ancient of lore is like the best epic in the game, so you might want to craft that if you are going for ramp druid. Basicly check some decks on hearthpwn.com and then craft what you want
***** yea i know :( i kinda prefer the druid class but dont want to stick with just 1 class so maybe i wait for dr. balanced. I rather make a good deck with no rush than make multiple decks to improve (dust efficiency)
*Trump played 560 games last season* I play about 30......... because I just try to get to 14 and chill there so next season if I can't play any games for whatever reason I get rank 20 automatically.
I have a Deck like this I made awhile back after looking at the old tinker oil... you need it. But there are other decks like Mech Rogue whic hcan survive without the Prep.. but I advise sometime getting prep soon ( Thalnos can be second :) )
SBroproductions Oil rogues can win without seeing a preparation, therefore it is not crucial. It is however an amazing tempo card so keep that in mind when finding something to replace it with.
***** Arguable. There's never a single perfect version of a deck, the loss of tempo burst from preparation will hurt you in some matchups but the benefits of whatever you replace it with will be more helpful in others. Well, assuming the card fits, I suppose Frostwolf Warlord doesn't help my case here any.
Stonski People play cancer? That seems an odd thing to try and use in a card game, and possibly dangerous if you're messing around with it. While it probably wouldn't do much in a petri dish, I'd be worried if it was cancer in someonewho just wants it removed and not played.
Stonski Hmm, kind of odd, cancer can kill fast but a lot of the time it's rather slow and painful... Maybe ebola since it's easy to catch and very deadly, though it seems silly to name a deck after a disease, I mean, just because some people dislike them is no real reason to name things that harshly.
Does anyone have the details on why he fell to rank ~1000 both the first and second time? I wouldn't think that simply not playing would make you drop ranks that fast, and while I'm at it why was it that he didn't play for so long during the drop from 3 to 20?
He dropped ranks because he got to rank 10 and wanted his rank to stay under 20 for the end of the season, but figured parking at rank 10 wouldn't be enough to secure that, so he tried to win one last game, lost narrowly, then went on a horrible losing streak and never recovered. He didn't play between rank 3 and 20 because he didn't want to risk losing games that would knock him out of the top 20.
He wanted to sit on a high legend rank. It would have been a nice decision if the high ranks weren't so contested right now. He should have kept playing at rank 3 since he had a strong deck against the meta, and abused it more since sitting on his rank wouldn't really work since it wasn't quite the end of the season. In legend, when you're around rank 300-400 you lose/gain around 100 rank a game. Source: Been legend many times
***** It's more like rock paper scissors. Aggrow overwhelms control to death early on when it can't defend itself reliably. Mid-range or combo as it's called in magic lives long enough to kill aggro reliably. Control kills anything not control outright unless late game doesn't happen.
hockeater Close. Aggro is always fast and tries to be the aggressor, control is always slow and tries to be reactive. A midrange deck is one that is reactive when against aggro decks but is fast enough to be the aggressor against control decks. It's in the middle. Combo is a different thing entirely and just tries to combo off as quickly as possible to win in one big move, sometimes they play out like control and in other cases they can go off fast enough to put aggro to shame. It really depends on the combo and the shell for executing it.And then you also have tempo decks. It's safer to just pretend those don't exist than to start an online discussion about what that means and how it fits into the diagram.
Every man and his mother is running Harrison, and blade is too expensive for the big damage combo, I prefer shade, better against freezing trap never a bad time to play it really, and can lie dormant until combo in the worst case.
assassin's blade is fast? at the fastest, it's a turn 5 play. on turn 5 a 3 attack weapon is way too slow so you'd need to buff it. if you buff it with tink, that's at least a turn 6 play. considering tink blade flurry does the amount of damage it does, assassin's blade is only really good against really slow decks so you can push out sustained weapon damage. This would be most effective against warrior probably but warrior has harrison. Therefore, assassin's blade is not a very good pick
TheIamnotinsane I might try that instead. I just enjoy the 4 durability. It makes it more worth it to use tinkers, though, I might try running shade since I can then get a guaranteed tinkers target. Thanks. :) ktktktktktktkt well, some of the most 4 drops I see being run atm are houndmaster and piloted shredder. Though I do not deny what you said is true, does that add some credibility to the ass?
Edwin is not slow. That's just because you want to milk too much value out of it. Playing it as a 4/4 or a 6/6 is really good, dodges bgh and is not slow.
TheIamnotinsane The 3 most popular decks by my stats were (last month): mage, hunter, and druid. Together, they made up 57% of my 420 opponents. Of those 3, only the druid is likely to run Jones (exceptions being control mages). During this period, I did not run assassin's blade. Yes, it's really bad if a buffed-up Assassin's Blade gets Jones'd, but in my experience people using Jones will use him to clear a 3/1 or 4/1 knife in order to feel safer from blade flurry. Sometimes, they will even play Jones against a 1/2 knife on their turn 5 just for tempo and card draw. Point being: I think Jones' popularity does not make AB nonviable. To manage the risk, I tend to use one charge of AB the turn I play it (even if that only means hitting for 3) and try to bait out Jones on buffed up knives (e.g. 3/1 or 4/1).

I don't understand the hate for netdecking. I mean, if I had the time to test the decks I enjoy and do the fine tuning by myself, I would post those results so people could take advantage from them. It's not about copying decks, it's about gathering information about the metagame and build your deck around that.

Thanks!

Even face hunters won't think twice to eaglehorn bow amani berserker to negate it's massive value potential :)
What would be a good replacement for Bloodmage?
southsea deckhand or violet teacher
could you guys help me? i am kinda new, and i have around 800 dust. what should i craft? i believe i want to build a druid deck, but is it better to craft a few epics or shall i wait for dr. boom?
ancient of lore is like the best epic in the game, so you might want to craft that if you are going for ramp druid. Basicly check some decks on hearthpwn.com and then craft what you want
thx

yea i know :( i kinda prefer the druid class but dont want to stick with just 1 class so maybe i wait for dr. balanced. I rather make a good deck with no rush than make multiple decks to improve (dust efficiency)
Dr boom al the way
It's so humbling to see trump in rank 16.. Only yesterday he seemed so far away ..
Lots of ppl can have same name u know i have a account named trump for trolling
shuvo rahman Trump is rank 16 in the video dimwit xD
Lol i did not see dat
shuvo rahman
What?! Names are not unique in HS? :s
Ya they are not but ive never face anyone same name as me
Good lord, I thought that my handwriting was bad. Good to know that i´m not alone in having bad handwriting
*Trump played 560 games last season*
I play about 30......... because I just try to get to 14 and chill there so next season if I can't play any games for whatever reason I get rank 20 automatically.
1:43 Demon Cuntrol Kappa
What about Shade of Naxxramas??
Can this deck really survive without Prep? I have every card except Prep and Thalnos. What should I do?
I have a Deck like this I made awhile back after looking at the old tinker oil... you need it. But there are other decks like Mech Rogue whic hcan survive without the Prep.. but I advise sometime getting prep soon ( Thalnos can be second :) )
Made a rogue deck without preps, got to rank 4
Basically preps r crucial but u can somewhat survive
SBroproductions Oil rogues can win without seeing a preparation, therefore it is not crucial. It is however an amazing tempo card so keep that in mind when finding something to replace it with.
*****
Arguable. There's never a single perfect version of a deck, the loss of tempo burst from preparation will hurt you in some matchups but the benefits of whatever you replace it with will be more helpful in others. Well, assuming the card fits, I suppose Frostwolf Warlord doesn't help my case here any.
does someone know how or with what he takes his stats ?
Trump are you going to continue the Reccetear series?:)
where is the darkest dungeon? really enjoying it but the uploads have been very slow
Is this deck still viable?
What is your rank in the new Season when you entered >Legend< in the last one?
16
have run into many sporting an ogre ninja in this deck
Look at Trump, looking all sexy while cleaning his glasses!
Do you suppose it's possible that Rank 20-15 is probably the hardest rank to pass?
nice one Dennis
In my experience 14-6 is the easiest, while 20-15 is harder and 5+ is just a boring, slow grind, and most difficult.
Stonski
People play cancer? That seems an odd thing to try and use in a card game, and possibly dangerous if you're messing around with it. While it probably wouldn't do much in a petri dish, I'd be worried if it was cancer in someonewho just wants it removed and not played.
Stonski
Why's it called cancer? It's not a malignant tumour...
Stonski
Hmm, kind of odd, cancer can kill fast but a lot of the time it's rather slow and painful...
TheMusicalString Oh very interesting. Ty. Out of curiosity, do you think what he did were the smartest decisions.

Trump how is ur yolo score

Why would you sap dr. Boom?
I love you Trump.
New expansion? Hopefully dragons!
Naa dragons already are fucking strong they need something that will change meta like nexx and shity cards
Gomibako Pandaz lol was this comment before BRM? cuz good on ya for predicting the future
Look at people when you are talking to them!
a new HOT HOT HOT season :D
Why'd he drop the trade prince? Just wasn't performing? Or more of a meta call?
Probably both in this meta, honestly.
One does not simply Sap Dr Boom
No DR boom?
is there a deck that counters face hunters?
Yes control warrior
MORE GLASSES CLEANING PLZ STAPH
He shouldn't have sapped Dr. Boom.
all i need is ragnaros , and most of my decks will be legendary (able)
What does mid-range mean?
Focusing on mid cost creatures. Mana 3-6. As opposed to Aggro or full control.
***** It's more like rock paper scissors. Aggrow overwhelms control to death early on when it can't defend itself reliably. Mid-range or combo as it's called in magic lives long enough to kill aggro reliably. Control kills anything not control outright unless late game doesn't happen.
Thanks for the answers guys.
hockeater Close.
YUUUUS
oh i gonna sap dr boom lol
Dont let him touch you kids
I always get the 1 card i need to win in the draw for the very next game or the combo i need.
hate when he misses lethal
Why does trump run shredders in oil rogue?
Francis Wells Dumbass he explained in the video.
Mech rogue shaman
Dr. GG too strong
Edwin seems too slow. I'd opt out for an assassins blade imo. Makes the burst damage higher as well
Every man and his mother is running Harrison, and blade is too expensive for the big damage combo, I prefer shade, better against freezing trap never a bad time to play it really, and can lie dormant until combo in the worst case.
assassin's blade is fast? at the fastest, it's a turn 5 play. on turn 5 a 3 attack weapon is way too slow so you'd need to buff it. if you buff it with tink, that's at least a turn 6 play. considering tink blade flurry does the amount of damage it does, assassin's blade is only really good against really slow decks so you can push out sustained weapon damage.
Thanks. :)
ktktktktktktkt well, some of the most 4 drops I see being run atm are houndmaster and piloted shredder.
30:00 Dr. Boom so not OP...
