Piano concerto n°14 K.449
I. Allegro vivace 0:00
II. Andantino 8:19
III. Allegro ma non troppo 15:54
Maurizio Pollini
Wiener Philharmoniker
Live recording, Vienna, 15.XI.1981
Einfach wunderbar!
This is as wonderful as Myra Hess' and Bruno Walter's fabled live recording from 1954, and in much better sound! I love the Andantino taken as slow as this, so that no ornamentation becomes hurried. It's like an aria for the Countess in "Figaro", while the first movement rather portrays the angry and jealous Count. And the Finale - that is all the characters of the opera interacting in a playful polyphonic web!
Your opinions are very interesting to hear, and it's good that you share them, but consider the following: if you listen to the peace as itself and let it provide the story and the imagery for you, you will go a lot further in understanding it then if you try to put other stories into it or make it into a version of another piece of music
Bravi!
A superb performance. A little weak on Andantino, but 1st and 3rd magnificent.
Ah… Pollini… n.1!
Thanks! I share.
Between 4.45 and 5.00 there seems to be a disturbance in the hall; one can hear voices. Otherwise the audience is commendably silent.
Pollini is a great virtuose. Yet in this marvelous work i dont feel the sensitivity, the legato obligato della Pires.
Pires is just a great Mozart interpreter
@@bernabefernandeztouceda7315 Agree with you.
this is gods Music........Mozart was not an Atheist.........no great Music was ever composed by an Atheist.........Facts and love fom vienna austria
Wasn't Beethoven an atheist?
@@mertcandarli Beethoven was a Catholic. He received the Most Holy Sacrament before the death.
You can't know this and you don't know this. It's interesting to think about spirituality and music and the other arts and how these might intersect with religiosity
@@RedCloudBeechWaveAhh I know what I say. I took this information from Beethoven's biography by George R. Marek. Does exist book which directly denies this fact? May you enlight me?
@@RedCloudBeechWaveAhh I assume, of course, that your statement is about my comment. If not- Don't pay any attention to that ;-)
