  • @DarkLordofTheRizz
    @DarkLordofTheRizz 2 года назад +136

    I think the main takeaway is, that you're in an open market regardless, so as long as they can still turn a profit, or at the very least break even, there is room to negotiate, and you still get what is the equivalent to a name brand quality.
    But what a lot of people forget is, doing business in the heart of New York is a brutal task.
    When you consider the amount of overhead you would actually need to bypass taxation, as well as payment on the land, the fact they even are willing to discuss price is a sign of a high quality business trying to provide a great customer service experience, despite their own needs on the business end.
    That's called networking, and it draws in repeat business, I think he has an excellent model.

    • @soamazzzing
      @soamazzzing 2 года назад +3

      Love how people talk about overhead that is created by business owners plenty of people can create ridiculous overhead and pass on to consumer doesn't make it a fair deal basically saying let me hire a 100 people overpay them and pass the cost of it to you. Its business 101 2/3rds I believe in retail if I remember correctly i.e. cost $20 charge $60 with adjustments at higher values I think the problem is when you say your fair, and transparent and have great deals all the time but go to your site and its not the truth. Oh by the way you make way more money selling with lower margins then higher you should be looking at your website and brick and mortar as two different businesses with different "overhead". But what do I know

    • @DarkLordofTheRizz
      @DarkLordofTheRizz 2 года назад +6

      @@soamazzzing Nothing apparently, because I'm not talking about a silicon valley big tech company, or s&p 500, which would be more apt for your examples of "unfair," overhead, this is just straight gold, silver and diamonds, reworked into shapes people will enjoy. He's not taking a hunk of plastic and circuits valued at 25 dollars and charging you 1000 for an operating system, while outsourcing the labor to some sweat shop overseas.
      Any pawn shop or jeweler will tell you, that there is very little overhead to be made when it comes to precious metals, you'd be lucky to make away at 70% its retail value, and thats buying it in bulk too, per gram and per ounce. Having a skilled laborer that actually does require some amount of qualifications to fit the gems, and refit that metal for a specific individual does cost quite a bit of money. And the decent part is, most jewelry will retain that value, and be more than it's weight in gold.
      Take a high class Byzantine chain, 3mmx20cm, that's maybe 30 grams of gold, about a thousand dollars at face value, but because it has such a difficult design to craft, typically produced in Italy, because of the quality and rarity of a piece, that's just under 3k for a chain like that.
      That's not even factoring in that for the last 5000 years, gold and silver have probably been the driving force of the world economy, and the jewelry they craft would be worth more than its weight in gold even if you resold it.

    • @DarkLordofTheRizz
      @DarkLordofTheRizz 2 года назад +1

      @@soamazzzing Also that's not even addressing the thousands in building rent (in a DNC paradise like New York), to paid said skilled laborers specific to the craft were talking about, and having said jewelery actually made in the states instead of somewhere like italy.

Look up a Trax piece and I guarantee if it's 10 grams of 14k, it's at least $900 to $1000 but I promise you I pay $45 a gram in May of 2022 and would spend $450 on the same 10 grams. That being said, if you go to the diamond distract and don't know what's up, they'll charge you up the same way. Learn the value of jewelry before you start spending bands on it

I told them that I can get this chain for $3065 and they said I should take the deal. They wouldn’t even come down on their prices and match that price. I figured I’d give them a shot cuz I’ve heard some good things about them but now that I’ve looked into them I’m very disappointed. Hold on a minute... Let's get this straight, A viewer has stated you're overpriced. You show a Super Mario Bomb Pendant at $3320, reduced to $3070, but if you call or go online you can save another $400 just by asking. So the price your stating, is actually not the price at all..
    But underneath this prce it states " €2,579.00, $2,993.25 Bank Wire and $7200 retail.."... You state you get the "Raw Materials, diamonds, gold, put it together" So your the manufacture and retailer. Yet you state $7200 retail, that's actually illegal, as the price was never $7200, yet your making believe that at $3320, the costumer is getting a deal.. If the Pendant was never first priced at $7200, you cannot then claim the price originally was $7200, thats deception, fraud and against the law. You state you stand by everything you say and your not overpriced, as there is no price, that's a sham if ever I've heard it.. The diamonds are also not gia certified. Is the 13.4g total weight of the pendant or weight in gold? if the latter, 14ct white gold is 58.3% pure gold, which is 7.81g. Gold is $59.92 per gram, so total gold value is $467.97, yet you state Retail is $7200. If your items are highly priced, due to location, the amount you pay your staff etc that's fine, but don't state your not, " as there isn't any price" when you are.

      typical profit margin in jewelry is about 50%... give him about 20% margin and im sure they will say yes unless its a high churn item where they don't need to bargain with people. If Trax can get $600 profit after COGS by just invoicing me then they gladly will. Speed for margin isn't bad.
      This is the same with ANY business that isn't franchised. You can bargain anywhere. Just be fair and understand they have profit margins that need to be met.

    13.4 grams of gold… gold is 54$ a gram today. $723 which is the really the only valuable material in that pendant, you take that same pendant to pawn and they pay you for hold

      Wages went up, finding the right staff, rent, costs in general are up, is he supposed to carry those costs on his own!! He'd be out of business in no time. I know what being nice and taking on the hit of increase in prices can do, it is taken from my kids,my wife, and everyone who knew me. It's less income for my family and less benefit to people around me. I nearly lost a business for doing that, but thank god I learnt and still learning.

They wanted $5100 and I got it from Hawaii rope chains for $3065 out the door (no tax + free 2 day fed ex) . They overmark their prices 1000% and people fall for it. Even if they come down a little they are still screwing the customer into believing they got “a deal” . I would stay far far away from this man and trax. The only way to get a better price 8s to find a blacksmith which you can get via a jewelry or pawnshop, but the problem you have there is taking the risk like max says and not knowing truly if the materials making your item is actually 100 ledgit. I would rather give my $$ to trax knowing their hustling and earning it.

      Waaaaay overpriced!! I would never buy anything from him. He is a shister. I was on the live chat a couple weeks ago looking at a 6mm 14kt 24in (solid) diamond cut rope and they wanted $5100 for it! I could have bought a 7mm 14kt 26in for that price (I know cuz I did last year and Hawaii rope chains has it for $5200). I told them I could get the 6mm for $3065 out the door elsewhere (Hawaii rope chains) and they told me I should take the deal. They never even tried working with me on price to make a sale. They overmark their prices 1000% and people are dumb enough to fall for it. Even is they come down a little they try and make you think you’re getting a deal which in fact you’re still getting screwed. And my thing is, why would you have to make a video about people complaining that your prices are too high defending yourself? He wouldn’t have to do that if he was running an honest business. I’ve got some big ropes and I’ve bought them all from Direct Source Gold and Diamond and Hawaii rope chains. Hawaii rope chains is the best deal I’ve ever found, I just wish I would have known about them earlier

    Based on the video, those prices are for someone who has more money than they care, so they just buy the piece and trax gets a higher margin. The live chat dropped the price $400 within a few minutes. You could probably say they had that open and went to Carlos when they saw it was him to tell him to lower it for the vid. But try it yourself
