You have all been too quiet recently! 😁 Let me know where you are watching! It's currently 4.34pm here in cozy Copenhagen! (And has been dark since 3.30pm and won't be light again until 8.30am tomorrow) 😍💗💗
Watching from Kissimmee, Florida. Just finished making and mailing all my Christmas cards. Will decorate tree this weekend, we decluttered all our deco last year so I don't think will have anymore to purge. I've been on a very intentional no buy and it is amazing when I see all the temptations thrown at me everyday. I will be getting some gifts to give but they will not add to any others house as clutter. This has been a remarkable year of change for me. Your Mom's passing has further allowed me not to leave any clutter tasks for my children. I now have simplified my cleaning routines and have more time for experiencing each day and creating my art..
I'm watching from the Midwest of the US and it's 1:45 p.m. here. It's light here until around 5 p.m., but the darkness starts closing in around 4:15 p.m. or so, and the sun rises around 7:40 a.m. I have been working on decluttering sentimental items and this week I decluttered my comforter and shams from my childhood bedroom. My mom had them in her closet, and I thought it was so sweet and touching that she kept them all these years that I felt that I should keep them, too. But she's been gone ten years now and it is time to let them go for another child to use. I don't have children so no grandchildren will be here to use them. They were still in wonderful condition, almost like new. They made things to last back then.
Diane is right - it does get easier with the Fly Lady System as you work your way around the house each week. I hope that you had a wonderful visit with your brother and sister in law Diane.
Between changing schedules and the accompanying need for changed routines; and the daily entropy of life, I’m currently just plugging ahead slowly and telling myself that if I only declutter one item a day, I’ll see a perceptible difference each week.
Hi Diane, I’m watching from the central coast of California. I decluttered a lot of holiday stuff a couple years ago and no longer put up a classic tree. Instead, I decorate the mantel with fresh greenery and small white lights, in which snuggle large and small snow people, gingerbread men, pine cones, and even a few candles! Overhead I hang an array of crocheted and beaded snowflakes. On a small metal display tree below I show off some favorite ornaments, including a few from distant childhood. I set up this winter wonderland about Dec. 15 and keep it until my mid-January birthday. It’s been fun to develop this alternative decor.
Nothing to declutter today, but I did a load of laundry, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the litter box, and made a loaf of banana, craisin, pecan bread ❣️Rah, rah, rah❣️
Watching from Hannover. I don't really mind the dark afternoons. My sofa, a good book and a cup of tea. Bliss! Prefer the winter to the hot summers, I find the heat very tiring. Thanks for the Video!!!
Been declutterring my bookcase. I had piles of books on all my surfaces. Today I cleared off my sideboard, polished it, rearranged my family photos, and placed a Christmas decoration there. It looks lovely. ❤
I’m watching from Toronto 🇨🇦 and I guess I am a stage 2 decluttered. 2 years ago I was on top of my game and a faithful Fly Lady follower. Then I had open heart surgery and strokes. I’m pretty much recovered, except I fatigue easily and I takes longer to do anything. ❤ I know it will take months to get my home back, but I am happy to start!
Watching from Newfoundland, Canada. Your videos are always so motivating, I have been decluttering at least one item a day since the beginning of this year I think I have made a dent in things.
Hello from Washington State, USA. Our sunset is 4:25 pm! We’re lighting candles every evening, like you. Preparing for my 7 children to be home, so trying to eliminate superfluous stuff to make room for the people and promote peacefulness.
Being able to just open the door and let people in is what I am working towards! Made quite some progess this year, despite limited energy. So I am proud of that and thank you for all the encouragement and guidance throughout! 😄
Hi I'm from Kingston Ontario. But Norfolk UK born and bred😊. Decluttering craft supplies today. I'm a knitter just decluttering yarn I will never use. Knitting hats for Christmas gifts❤
We're in WNC, in the US. We're getting colder off and on. Low 40s F today, low 20s F tonight. Tomorrow will be 50 F. Sunset has been about 5 pm and sunrise about 7:45. I love this time of year.
Watching from Texas, USA. It gets dark about 5:30pm here and today it is sunny. Your videos are so uplifting and really keep me going with my own house declutter. Thank you! ❤
My latest declutter was three pairs of old glasses, kept one "just in case"! I was happy to be able to donate them at my local optical shop. I'm watching from Brittany, France, and I'm Canadian!
At one time I did quite a few 5K walks and they usually gave out these really clever and nicely painted medals. I kept them for a long time, hanging on my sewing room thread rack. But finally I decluttered them. I don't miss them at all.
You are so right, even just one item a day helps. My husband handed me a few of his old tee shirts this morning! There were some in good condition, a few to toss and my son took one. They ARE watching, keep leading by example 😊
Watching from Michigan, USA. My hang up with declutterimg is we just don’t have good recycling here so items just end up in the landfill. Same with donating to thrift stores, what doesn’t sell goes to the landfill. Such a waste!
Absolutely correct! Very sad but true. For me, that’s my biggest issue with decluttering. I’ve discovered a company that sells boxes & bags for recycling items not taken by the municipal program. It’s great (especially for textiles) but expensive. Better than the landfill. Charity shops simply can’t be burdened with our unusable stuff!!!!
We decluttered Christmas decorations when we moved to a retirement community 7 years ago but I think we'll revisit everything when we take the decorations down this year. I think a few more things will be going out👍🙂🎄
Watching from Angus, Scotland 🏴 What you said about being reluctant to let tradesmen in the house because of the clutter really resonated with me 😳. Still, I am following your FlyLady baby steps (day 8) and I am trying to declutter.🤞. Thank you, you are really helping me finally get my 😮 together. Have a lovely Christmas and a great 2025❤
Hello from South Dakota, USA. I've sat down for a break and watched this video. I'm right with you! Giving my bedroom a really good clean and I've already declutteted quite a few little (why am I keeping this?) kinds of things. I have only Advent things out, my few more Christmas things will come out later this coming week (including a nice collection of Georg Jensen ornaments, started by our first exchange student over 20 years ago! God Yul 🎄
Watching from Crewe, Cheshire UK. Been out and about today with GP appointment, post office and bank . Just got settled in for the night with milky coffee and warming up Watching you my faithful friend. I'm continually decluttering everyday with one thing or another. It's become a habit now. Well done you with all your decluttering. 🎉🎉🎉
Dear Diane, I was not ready for holiday videos. I have saved yours for winter break. Long time fan (4-5 years) from Oregon, USA. (Orygun) Love and many thanks. Off to do my Power Hour! 0:02
I am in the middle of decorating and yesterday decided to declutter a whole load of tinsel, baubles, ornaments and foil decorations which haven't been used for several years. I'll probably have some more soon as well - and I'd like to donate them to charities BEFORE Christmas - when people WANT them!! - so 5 small bagfuls out of the house!! YEA!
Hi from this T1/3 in the eastern part of Germany. With no husband and currently only a kid of the purring four-legged kind, there are certain things you mention that I just don’t have. And I’m not sure I’ll put a tree up this year, seeing as I’m going home to the US for the first time in a number of years. I have set aside a couple of decorative items that I don’t really care for so much and will be putting out for anyone to take who likes them. Even though I’ve decluttered a lot, my space often feels “cluttery” to me, and my desk is definitely an area I’m kind of avoiding and I’m not always sure what to do with when I try. 😜 Thanks for being you!
Thank you, I’m loving all the inspiration. As I decorated the house for Christmas I ended up with 2 boxes of excess which I put straight into the car and immediately delivered to the charity shop … yay me 😁. My decorating took less than an hour including building the tree that I've reused for the last 27 years x Caroline
I really enjoy your videos. I’m from the north est of England. Something I am gearing up to do in the NY is declutter January. On1st I’ll find 1 thing, on the 2nd 2 things etc etc. Obviously the further into the month I go the potentially harder it gets, but could be eg 16 earrings, 20 old plant pots, 30 pieces of paper with old recipes on. Ive done it before and it is really challenging but worth while. Things can be mixed up as you make it work for you. You don’t need to have all the same item. So if day 3 is a book, a skirt and an old kitchen utensil, that’s all good. Thank you for your interesting and inspiring videos. 🎄
I'm watching from Chicago--but was born in Edinburgh and lived there until I was 36, slightly more than half my life. I absolutely love your videos, and I've been inspired to think in terms of time rather than tasks (which are much more overwhelming.) Thank you for being so upbeat and encouraging!
Still watching , even while away, travelling in Texas. Back in chilly, windy UK now but seem to have left my body clock behind!. I do love the pom poms 🎉.Thank you as I need some kicking motivation at the moment!
Hello, Diane! Thank you for the joy you bring with your videos. I'm watching this for a second time from a very dreary southeast corner of Michigan, USA. I love hearing about the Danish way of doing things. I hope to make a trip to Copenhagen next year. :)
I’m watching from the Hunter Valley in Australia while cleaning out the shed on my farm. It’s 4:20 in the afternoon and 35 degrees C . Soooo hot but you are motivating me to keep on going and declutter. Thanks Diane. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas x
Oh my, Diane, 🇲🇽 ‘86!!! You really took me back in time today! We were living in Mexico that year. I remember the TV coverage of Argentina’s fans celebrating in the streets of the DF. Still have a couple of beach towels with logos on them-one with Pique-and a cassette tape of Rigo Tovar singing México ‘86. May keep them…
I recommend some great punk covers by Tommy Johansson. He made a Christmas cover of Blink182 All the small things. Really fun. I thinl you'll enjoy. He also made a great cover of Green ? Basket case.
Let go of some more cookbooks because when I'm being honest I'm not using them anymore! Reduced some pantry items for food drive and 2 nutcracker decorations that were placed on the mantle 😂 . It become addictive to reduce the "stuff". Always amazed that I find more to reduce just when I think there is no more to declutter. Thank you Diane ❤ you're the best inspiration, I always hear your voice "just 1 item" - it all adds up.
Cleaning out pantry and fridge today. The SpongeBob mug reminds me of my kids- they loved SpongeBob and still quote the episodes from time to time 😂 you are doing an amazing job 🎉~ Suzanne M ❤
Your tree looks very festive! I like all the hearts on your tree. I am watching from Upstate New York where it is snowing again. I have been out on snowshoes a few times this week- great exercise and good for my sense of well being.🦋🦋🦋
The holidays have really added to the craziness at work. Not really getting much done, but I was really inspired by your use of your festive type outfits all year long.
Hello, Toronto! Definitely needed Diane to lift our spirits on this grey, wet day, right? I'm just to the west of you in Brantford. Hoping for 🌞 tomorrow!
I just decluttered my hair dryer! I realized I absolutely never use it. I'm very simple with my haircare and don't want the unnecessary heat on it anyways. I have wavy/curly hair so my "fancy" hair is when I straighten it, like 2x a year! Such a big item. Glad to pass it on. God jul!
On my lunch break in Canada and super excited to see your video as always ❤❤❤ I am ever so grateful that you continue to take me on your journey and as a result, I am motivated, inspired and changing my own journey!!!
Watching from USA in the Pacific Northwest...thanks for the encouragement, I needed that today! It is hard letting go of things, but I'd love more open space in my home. I can definitely pare down the Christmas decorations!
Today, I pulled everything out of the gift wrap and gift storage cupboard, wrapped gifts, and re-organized the cupboard. Overdue and delighted to have that done!🤩
Really love your tree decorating so that you can still see the tree - and your Stranglers badges - J J Bunuel - one of my first crushes!! Have a happy Christmas, notwithstanding your deep grief, and THANK YOU as always, Claire xxxx
Thanks Diane! I have a "button" collection as well -- makes me think, maybe its time to let it go - displayed in our game room, have similar music groups to yours. 😊 Keep going! Looking forward to your next video
Watching from Johannesburg in South Africa. ❤ It’s summer here and our December holiday, so the house is suffering as I’d rather be outside in the garden every spare moment I get. 😂 Thank you for the inspiration! I am following along with the Christmas prep.
Hi Diane. 22.15 near Portsmouth in southern England . I became a hoarder when I lost my dear mum just over six years ago and letting things go is hard for me, but I keep trying 😬. I love your videos with your sunny smile and sense of humour - please keep going 😘🐶🐶
We have been busy. Family gathered in Key West, Florida to celebrate our nephew’s 50th birthday. While watching the Key West Christmas Parade, we met a lovely couple from Denmark. They are now living on Key West. I did go through my Christmas decorations and did get rid of several items. Other’s I am saving to see it they will work in our future place (we already own it, but will not be moving for a few years yet)
You have all been too quiet recently! 😁 Let me know where you are watching! It's currently 4.34pm here in cozy Copenhagen! (And has been dark since 3.30pm and won't be light again until 8.30am tomorrow) 😍💗💗

Hopefully not for much longer! 👏😂
@DianeinDenmark I'm working on it, with you by my side 😊

@1960Amanda.. Declutter January...good fun declutter idea to try. Will see how far into January I can go with it.

Love that, Marty!

You are so welcome, Catherine!

Ha ha, my kids do that too...though I never watched it enough to get the jokes!

The holidays have really added to the craziness at work. Not really getting much done, but I was really inspired by your use of your festive type outfits all year long.
Hello from Gun Barrel City. I needed a Diane from Denmark fix today.
Hi Diane! Happy Monday! You have given me a new appreciation for Mondays 😄Watching from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
Hello, Toronto! Definitely needed Diane to lift our spirits on this grey, wet day, right? I'm just to the west of you in Brantford. Hoping for 🌞 tomorrow!
Thank you Diane! Working on decluttering ornaments as I put them on the tree this week. We also love a fresh tree each year🎄
I just decluttered my hair dryer! I realized I absolutely never use it. I'm very simple with my haircare and don't want the unnecessary heat on it anyways. I have wavy/curly hair so my "fancy" hair is when I straighten it, like 2x a year! Such a big item. Glad to pass it on. God jul!
On my lunch break in Canada and super excited to see your video as always ❤❤❤
I am ever so grateful that you continue to take me on your journey and as a result, I am motivated, inspired and changing my own journey!!!
Watching from UK, decluttering a kitchen cupboard full of candles, tea light holders etc .....got rid of half, some tealight holders to charity shop.🎉
I'm watching from a small village in Germany. It's 8p.m. I'm on my sofa and watching TV.
Watching in the U.K…..love your tree. Xxxx
Watching from Australia. I was recently in Copenhagen and loved it there! Your Christmas tree looks beautiful!
Really love your tree decorating so that you can still see the tree - and your Stranglers badges - J J Bunuel - one of my first crushes!! Have a happy Christmas, notwithstanding your deep grief, and THANK YOU as always, Claire xxxx
He was so cute in his younger days, still is! 😂 (Saw the Stranglers in Copenhagen last year)
Thanks Diane! I have a "button" collection as well -- makes me think, maybe its time to let it go - displayed in our game room, have similar music groups to yours. 😊
Keep going! Looking forward to your next video
Watching from Southern Germany 🇩🇪. I’m super tired after an eight hours office day. Will come back tomorrow and see what I can tackle.
Happy Monday Diane! I decluttered so much when I put up the Christmas tree! Boxes of games and toys etc going to thrift store this week 🎉🎉
In the doldrums lately, thank you for the hygge!
Watching from Johannesburg in South Africa. ❤ It’s summer here and our December holiday, so the house is suffering as I’d rather be outside in the garden every spare moment I get. 😂 Thank you for the inspiration! I am following along with the Christmas prep.
I'm watching from Texas in the United States. Thanks to you, I constantly declutter!
I did a small declutter of Christmas decoration while decorating. Thank you for the motivation
