Wow - all the speculation and advice/accusations... This clearly isn't a random decision they just took before breakfast this morning. It's sad, but it seems to be the best they can do in the circumstances, whatever those might be. The reasons are none of our business. Let's give them the space they asked for to deal with this life event.
Just as marriages with different religious beliefs between spouses, often end in divorce, while everyone is created equal, culture and background have the same issue. I once heard a child say, "'n Haasie trou 'n Haasie, nie 'n olifant nie", even kids understand that. They are both entitled to their privacy, so maybe it is something completely different, which we will never know. Myself, with my third divorce pending for 5 years already, after 20 years of marriage, (so I was convinced we were going to make it), my wife had other second teenagehood, adulterous ideas. I feel for them both. Divorce is never easy, never mind the circumstances. I wish my wife will just get on with it... she want's it, so I will not file. Problem is she is a non finisher in everything in her life, so I will still be waiting in 5 years time. I am proud to honestly declare, I have maintained my virtue all 5 years... No porn or self help either. I know of Christ, so I live by His commandments!
