I was so happy when the brother on the left with the white hoodie went, "I'm just into this genre of martial arts, swords, all types..." because you're not sure what genre this is, and THAT'S FINE TO ME because then you can do some research and know more, until the brother with the red glasses went, "ronin, feudal Japan, katanas..." as if every Asian swordsman is Japanese, or me calling every white guy with a gun in John Wick a cowboy. Sorry, but I've seen so many reactors call this a "samurai game," and it's getting a wee bit annoying to me at this point. This game belongs to the Wuxia genre, whose main theme is romanticized, cinematographic, choreographed martial arts, with very low to no magic. Imagine comic superheroes, but in ancient China with martial arts. I would be upset if a game using a Wuxia theme lacked a beautiful display of martial arts. You should check out the Wuxia genre if interested. IF this game can deliver, it will be the first game that could bring justice to the Wuxia genre. As it is a dying genre at this point, which is a shame.
The Chinese are becoming so good at making games. They can finally bring their Wuxia culture into this industry. It's not soul-like. It's a Wuxia game.

Totally agree with your opinion on trailers and release dates BUT in this particular case, Chinese New Year is on the 29th of January. The weapons portrayed were "Soft Snake Sword" and "White Serpent and Crimson Viper". It's a snake themed video so yeah that's why they released it earlier than they should as you said.
This was released more for a Chinese new Year Greeting message, which is the 29th Jan, than a real trailer. You will see all trailers and updates around that time.
Reminds me a lot of Chinese Wu Xia films so that's good but I'm with Jei, in that it looks like it could become repetitive very quickly. Part of why DMC managed to avoid that was through the transformations and enemy weapons that you picked up but a lot of it was just Dante himself being likeable. We haven't heard this character speak or learnt anything about the story. For now I'll just wait to see more before getting excited.
