1000%, guy with 1 index beat 97% of pro investors who combined work millions of hours a week to beat his snp500 index's while he sits on the couch ( in heaven) doing whatever he wants and he wins 97% of time. Thats the true holy grail of investing.

Warren Buffett said it best in his 2016 letter to shareholders:
"If a statue is ever erected to honor the person who has done the most for American investors, the handsdown choice should be Jack Bogle. For decades, Jack has urged investors to invest in ultra-low-cost index funds.
In his crusade, he amassed only a tiny percentage of the wealth that has typically flowed to managers who have promised their investors large rewards while delivering them nothing - or, as in our bet, less than nothing - of added value.
In his early years, Jack was frequently mocked by the investment-management industry. Today,
however, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he helped millions of investors realize far better returns on their savings than they otherwise would have earned. He is a hero to them and to me."

Respect to Mr. Bogle for all he was able to achieve and I'm sure he was a great individual. But to say index investing has been a benefit to markets is intellectually dishonest. If you want to achieve index average fine but passive is not a reflection of true value. When companies are weighted and indexed based on nothing more than there mere existence...they are distorted. We need to go back to valuing companies as operating business and not the the basis of their financial weighting in an index.
