This was a great watch, and thank you for the shout out as well! Thats super frustrating about the Les Exclusifs. I don't understand what they were thinking. Just subscribed by the way.
Thank you for stopping by my channel😊. There need to be more you us non-influencers, or maybe we are influencers but for healthier values and not so much materialism.
How great.. I discovered Alex Edward channel just yesterday as well 🎉 it is so true what he has said … such a great idea … and THANK YOU to be the way you are ❤
I feel the small Chanel bottles are for collectors only. Apparently limited, too. I would rather get the 75ml second hand for value for money. Or share a set amongst friends.
I've set my limit at 15 full bottles and 15 travel sizes (5-15 ml). When it comes to samples and small decants (up to 3 ml) I have no limit. I see the small ones as something that brings me joyful experience in the same way I sometimes I enjoy a glass of wine at a bar, playing a video game or a visit to the cinema. Also, someone mentioned that Bois D'Argent now is available in 50 ml on Dior's website, and there it was! I wonder if they are going to replace the 40 ml bottles with 50 ml..? But if they will sell them in stores or only online I don't know.
Thank you for that info! Had not heard. If 50 ml bottles were available, I might actually visit the Dior counter. But the designer exclusive lines are all heading in the direction of bigger. The new line from Rabanne which I also had the chance to try today is available in 125 ml bottles only. That is ridiculous.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 Yeah, the trend for "common people" is more going towards having a small selection of fragrances rather than just one signature scent. Smaller bottles should sell better, but what do I know..? Apparently it pays off, otherwise they wouldn't do it...
I sorted through several things and found a sample of Bois D'Argent amongst my Dior purchases. I quite like it and a small bottle will be sufficient. Thanks for the heads-up! On New Year's Eve, I ordered decants of several Dior Privee fragrances and others I can't find locally...because the place I ordered from was offering a discount. The first package was delivered to my work this morning and is waiting for me. Some are discontinued fragrances, so I will happily experience and relish them.
They have changed the format of the bottles and increased prices. Now they come in 50/100/200 and the 100/200 bottles cost the same as the 125/250 so less juice for the same price 😢
In USD they’re pricing them at over $800. This is also a *limited edition* thing, so it’s not even permanent that people will be able to get 30mL bottles. One also has to purchase at the Chanel boutiques, and cannot do so online. Leave it to Chanel to make something that could have meant more accessibility actually unbelievably *inaccessible* . Chanel truly behaves like they don’t want people to purchase their products, and honestly, maybe that’s the point- that they only want rich people to be able to? I’ve also heard that their perfume prices will be increased as much as 15% this year for the next price increase. I’ve effectively been priced out of their Les Exclusifs if that’s the case, and it’s a shame, because I’m a big fan of their perfume style and in my collection the brand that I’ve collected the most of happens to be Chanel. But I’m not at all a fan of the way they handle literally anything else about the brand. So I fear that I must say goodbye to them for good. Such a shame.
That was my thought exactly: the WANT to be only for the very rich! That is what the brand is all about rather than love for good perfume. I respect that they never have their perfumes on sale, that is fine. But this was just negative to me.
In anticipation of the price increases, I ordered a 200 ml bottle of Coco Mademoiselle Intense ($258.00 USD) and it was delivered yesterday. That should last me potentially the rest of my life (I'm 67 and plan to live another 25-30 years and have the family longevity to do so...knock wood). I'm not retired yet, so best to "get whilst the getting is good". I'm considering a bottle of Coromandel but as of now, it's a blind-buy and the current $500 a pop for the Les Exclusifs is kind of a lot for a blind-buy. We will see whenever the price increases are announced. As far as only being able to purchase in boutiques...I don't live anywhere close to one, so the majority of my purchases are online through their website.
Intime Extine has been out for a couple of years, the most recent Pierre Guillaume release was Staelios. And there’s a new perfume coming out in a few weeks called Église de Velours!
Hi first thing first: thanks a bunch for being so honest it really helps me select carefully my splurges! 😅 To me, Chanel is getting way to expensive especially with its exclusive range, and, longevity is pretty bad 🙄
Happy New Year! In the last 3 years I have racked up a lot of perfumes -not always full bottles, but enough so that I realize I getting dangerously close to an addiction. But channels like yours helped to pull me back. Now, I use subscriptions to experiment and try the niche fragrances. I find myself buying full bottles of designer ones - but usually if they are on sale or at a good price and I genuinely want to try out some classics like Dior Pure Poison some something. Truthfully, there are very few fragrances that motivate me to buy anything bigger than 30ml - 50ml. In many cases 10ml is just about right. As for the subscriptions I use that as a basis to decode some of the hype. I love your idea of making decants for friends and packaging them nicely. Perhaps you could do a tutorial on how to decant. Actually show the process from beginning to end.
Thank you for your comment. Decanting is kind of a hassle, but I can show you how to do it. Most often, I just spray into the decant. Some bottles are tricky though and then I need to use a little pump. The stuff you need isn't available in stores, you need to order online and it takes a while to get the stuff. Will talk more about this in an upcoming video!
I agree, I got so excited when I saw that they were doing 30 ml bottles but my heart sank when I realised that you had to buy an entire set of them. Kind of defeats the purpose of smaller formats really
@ I was lucky enough to get that set of 10 minis back in 2020 at a very large discount when a local blogger was selling off their PR. I’m still working through them! 10ml does go a long way... I think I paid less than $200 Aussie for them at the time. The only one I completely used up was Parade, I went through that in about a month. They do now have a discovery set comprising of 12x2ml for AU$91, which is not too bad. The 10ml mini set doesn’t appear to be available in Australia anymore but there is a travel twin pack of 2x15ml for $200 - arguably steep at $100 per 15ml….but pretty standard for that size here in Oz, e.g. Frapin 15ml travel sprays go for $99. Still, the Chanel situation is disappointing, 30-35ml is a lot for someone to commit to when you are forced to buy 5 at a really steep price.
Hi Kicki, I heard about those Chanel smaller bottles and I too was disappointed. I just do not understand why fragrance houses refuse to offer the smaller sizes as a general thing? It seems it would improve sales as more could afford to try these pricey perfumes. I guess one good way to get one is to go in with a group and buy a set because I heard you can choose more than one of any perfume. By the way, I found a good newer perfume channel; Eloise Scents. She doesn't seem to get PR and buys her own perfumes and she has great taste. oxJulia
Yes it’s the first one I’ve tried. It is quite animalic. Not sure if that’s your profile but I love it. Saw interview with The Perfume Guy and the founder of BTSO 😊
I am quite interested to hear more about Pantomime. Really curious to hear that Fredrik is still working with Jeroen. Chanel has done alot of things that are plain insulting to the customers...the one that comes to mind was their infamous advent calendar. I still buy their fragrances and (some) skincare because they are good (and there's no dupes)...but thats the only reason left.
I was upset at the 35ml prices....but interestingly I checked Dior and their 40ml is actually priced relatively the same. Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the price increases and this is probably a price matching approach on the brand's end.
I find it very difficult to resist buying full bottles, and it doesn't make it easy when a lot of houses don't make travel size versions of their fragrances. I have a rule now that I can only buy a full bottle if the perfume blows my mind. Another problem is that samples can be sooo expensive. I wanted to order 5 samples from VCanto (I'm in UK) but the postage was $70!
Can you find a local fragrance community? I find that I get a lot of rotation of my fragrances and buy secondhand from private people, which makes a big difference economically. Even if a perfume blows my mind, I will never use 100 ml, so for me that rule doesn't work. Have too many fragrances. Thanks for commenting!

Le Lion has great performance! Both longevity and sillage. Otherwise, I agree that a lot of them don't have that.
I agree! Le Lion is beast mode. Cristalle Eau Vert is more like a body mist. The rest are somewhere in between.@thehonestperfumereviewer6336

Ugh! Annoyed to hear the Chanel update! I wear No 5 Leau everyday almost - but I am NOT trying 5 exclusives for that much USD!
No 19 Poudré is another favorite of mine outside the exclusives, it is so beautiful. And recently tried Cristalle Vert and it also was really nice.
I just got no 19 - vintage - and it’s stunning!
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336I’ll try that one!
