It’s really nice listening to you talk about the every day things in your life, like distances to places, sun set times, languages and accents etc, as well as the perfumes you are enjoying. Also the sale of your house is something we can all relate to. It can be quite daunting, especially doing it on your own.
Glad you know that people who follow you are sending positive thoughts to you as you navigate this process. 😃🇦🇺
What a nice comment, thank you!
Love hearing about the lifestyle in Sweden!
Thank you! Right now it is so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing your impressions of these fragrance & giving us glimpses into some of where you’re at in your life… that was really cool!
Thank you!
How funny bc I currently live in Springfield IL
Really! We lived in Carbondale.
So good to see you back so soon! Excited to check out some new houses now!
Thank you!
The house hima jomo is inspired by the scent of Himalayas. Loon and Tchai are two different treasures of the Himalayan mountains.
@@vittorialiu3047 I did find out about that later! Thank you.
Hei Kicki! So fun to her your take on understanding the norwegian language! I had part of my nurse training in Stockholm, in Sødersjukhuset, and it the language actually was a bit of a barrier, bu it was a really nice time there- I really appreciate your longer videos when you talk about a lot of different perfumes and houses. When it comes to sweet perfumes and gourmands, I find that after entering perimenopause I can not handle very sweet fragrances any more. Maybe my skin chemistry changed or just how I percieve scent, so I keep some small devants for the days when I crave some sweeter scents, just for sniffing out of the nozzle. I really like Bengale Rouge, but because of what I mentioned, I can not wear it any more. This autumn I will stay in Italy and France for two months and I will search for some new (to me anyway) perfumehouses. I am also a bit tired of lot of the new releases of the so called niche houses, to me a lot of them are no more than designers in the way the perfumes are made. I also tend to prefer more of the olde style nichehouses, their older offerings, from Serge Lutens and LÀrtisan Parfumeur and Amouage.
You sound just like my friend Klara. She doesn't get excited about new mainstream niche releases anymore either. She loves Serge Lutens and lots of old classics like from Guerlain. She also has some first releases from Amouage. Are you going to work in Italy and France? What brings you there? It sounds wonderful!
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 no not work, just vacation! We have been thinking about going to Italy for a long time, and we wanted to stay a bit longer than just a week. Besides loving perfume, I am also a foodie, so Italy and France are just perfect in that sense. I also hope to find some older bottles of Amouage or Serge Lutens somewhere, Beloved is high up on my wishlist. I also want to explore smaller perfumebrands, I have to do some research before I go. Have you got some recommendations, any good italian or frech perfumebrands?
Absolutely love your content and I really appreciate your honestly. I also enjoy hearing about life in Sweden! Did you live in the US or Canada-I don’t really detect an accent.
Thank you so much. I have lived here pretty much all my life. When I was a toddler I lived in Illinois for a year when my father got a job at the university, but it is nothing that I can remember. Happy that my English works! I speak English to my family, both parents, siblings and my kids. My kids speak Swedish to each other but they all speak English to me. I speak English to my cats too.
I've never attended a fragrance meet-up, so I'd like to see footage or stills of what your meet-ups are like, but only if the attendees don't mind. As a result of watching this video, I'm now intrigued to try fragrances from: Ex Idolo, Onskad, Chapel Factory, and more. I'm letting my bottle of "Eau de Mystique" age a while before I use it again. That's what I have to do with a lot of the fragrances I get: I spray it a couple times, and then I put it away for a while to let it become its best. I don't have to do that with some of them, though. I liked "Eau de Mystique" when I tried it, but I think it might become better if I let it age for a while. The liquid in mine isn't dark enough yet.
Also, during winter season, doesn't Sweden have only a few hours of daylight each day? I think it would be interesting to experience one extreme to another. Thanks for your video.
I forgot all about filming the meetup, sorry! The wouldn't have minded at all, I don't think. I till try to think of it next time.
It's always lovely hearing from you and even just your impressions on what you've been wearing from your own collection - how taste changes dependent on weather, mood, occasion etc. If you find you're trying less new things lately, don't feel you have nothing to share! You'd be dearly missed. Also, looking forward to how your next perfume gathering goes. 😀
Wishing you lots of fun ... and sunshine. It's been cooler here too, in the PNW of the US. I'm ready to leave a bit and get some real sun. I keep wearing summery fragrances with a deep sense of hope.😉
Oh darn, I forgot to film at the meetup. I so easily could have done it. There were several Tiktok-people here with their own fragrance accounts. The would not have minded. We had a great time.
Hi Kicki. Hyssop is a purple flowering herb that is used to make Horehound cough candies if you know what those taste and smell like. It's hard to imagine what some of these herbal notes would smell like in prefumes, actually. I love your videos and random thoughts as well as what you have been doing in your life. It's so interesting :o). oxJulia
Thank you, Julia. I don't know of those cough drops actually but can sort of picture the type of taste maybe and how that might translate to a fragrance.
I think it’s great that your trying all of these fragrances, you really get to know what notes work for you. Gourmands are tricky right now, as we’ve been getting hot temperatures, but I do love Bengalle Rouge, it reminds me a bit of Must de Cartier. I do love Hera by Papillion as well. I had a sample of it and it really is lovely.💕❤️💕❤️
Yes. And it is interesting how one's taste seems to keep changing!
Have you sampled Maissa Parfums? It's a relatively new house; the earliest perfume dates from 2020, but they already have over 60 scents. I tried "Ile de beaute" and "Cataliya" and liked them enough to order samples. I enjoyed trying them before RUclips reviewers swayed me, but now I am ready for opinions on Maissa. There are only a few reviews on Fragrantica.
@@leighalexandra7899 Never even heard of them! Will look out for them. Thanks for the tip!
SAME!! Wish they had more of a presence but Chris/Perfume Nest was covering the brand a bit & I was intrigued tried a few & they were nice but nobody covers them & fragrantica has some listed but it’s a ghost town.
Thanks for your video Kicki, your videos always give me joy! We have similar taste in fragrance. It's normal how you feel since your son left, every change in life leaves us a little empty, but it doesn't last long, soon you'll find a new balance and you 'll be great! Regards from Athens, Greece, Here we are suffocating from the hot weather already, I wish I was living in a country with Sweden's climate!
Sweden's weather certainly has it's advantages. The summers suit me well! There is so sun guarantee but we rarely have a bad heatwave. The long dark winters are the negative side of things. I have been to Greece many times and the weather is great on the islands, but I remember Athens as very hot!
❤❤❤
I am curious about Odenaturae..mostly because of Angelica note and chamomile..I love Angelique Noire..I haven't found other fragrance with that beautiful agelica note
I thought it was quite terrible, haha.
Thank you for this utube video I allso go threw phases of wanting to wear a gourmand perfume I only have about two bottles there is one from pana Dora Sweden called moonlight I'd like to buy fruit noats of plum manderin clove leaf chocolate and peach 🍑 base noats cederwood musk amber vanilla tobacco honey and white chocolate ❤.
Haven't tried that one. Strangely enough, Pana Dora is not very popular here in Sweden. I think I heard some rumor that they were a little clone-ish? I could be wrong. That one sounds lovely!
Love & Crime! It's so delicious but it's so nuclear I can't bear it!! I bought it because it was love at first sniff... and sold it after one wear.
Oh dear, really! It does give a great first impression, but then gets a bit much.
Hello there! Most of these fragrances are getting boring to me. What are your thoughts? Their running out of ideas.
What fragrances are you referring to? Like everything on the market? I am quite new (like less than 5 years) in this hobby and find that I still discover new interesting fragrances.
@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I discover new fragrances myself, but it's the same old thing. It's just my opinion is all I am saying. I did like Pineward. Nothing boring about that company.
Thank you for another great video. We love when you get off topic, don’t worry! 😂 I’m interested in checking out Papillon as a few folks in a fragrance discord I belong to were raving about some samples they tried, including Bengale Rouge. I’m generally not one for super sweet perfumes, but I suppose there can always be exceptions to the rule. 🤍
Thank you! Bengale Rouge is a quite heavy wear, but at least it is sold in 50 ml bottles. You just need a spray or two.
