You do SUCH a good job of not assuming that people already know certain things. You explain it just in case. As a beginner, this is so comforting. Thank you!
Yeah it's frustrating to see so many tutorials that assume so much pre-requisite knowledge. I love Nick's tutorials
Great video, a few workflow tips.
1. ctrl-shift-a to select none.
2. Instead of making two rects/circles, you can use select-shrink to clear the inside of a selection. It also allows you to control the size of the border with pixel precision.
Omg thank u so much
Nice!!
Waiting for your video
Thank you for putting all this free content out here. I have NEVER done ANY design work and I've watched and worked along with two of your videos and created both images. I am so excited to keep learning and creating!
This is the best GIMP tutorial I have seen on youtube so far. Also explains a lot about how layers work in GIMP. Thank you.
I really appreciated the fact that while this tutorial and the logo we are making is super simple and easy, it tremendously focuses on how the layer mechanics work. Im amazed by how helpful this is, you earned a serious subscriber sir!🔥🔥🔥
Just wanted to say thank you for making these tutorials. I've been watching a few videos each night just before bed and not only is my knowledge of what's possible going up but even my ideas and creativity go up. Thank you a bunch!
Same as here 😅
Always great to hear that!
same as me
Me too
I used to listen Glen Miller's in my grandad radio car, lots of memories come to me. Very nice job with your videos.
You're the only person I know who is good at gimp
It’s so confusing lol I still don’t know how to move the stuff I create like how do I move stuff around freely
And how do I make my tools look like that I have them all bunched up
I agree with you
Wowow!!! Fantastic tutorial. I've been using the Gimp for about ten years now just using the built in logos, and now you have taught me how to actually design something! Just want to say a big thank you :)
Click, Ctrl + Shift.OMG! Thanks dude. This makes many things so much easier😍👌🏽
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This tutorial has literally saved my life. I've been looking for a good tutorial on how to make a logo for so long
This is probably one of the videos with most value I have found. Thank you so much it helped me a tone.
I’ve learned so much from your tutorials. I feel like I have a decent grasp on Gimp, Inkscape on the other hand, not so much haha. Thank you for uploading these videos!
I'm new to this software, and Nick is a beast. Your videos are awesome. Fast enough to keep my ADD self watching the videos, but not to fast where I have no idea what you did.
As always, another amazingly well made, informative video! Thank you Nick!
This was really informative. It took me 3 hours to make my first logo after watching this. Now I make one in 10 minutes.
that opening sequence music gets me every time - dig it
Thank you! This was lucid, quick, and incredibly useful.
Fantastic presentation. You've presented this as if you were teaching a new hire exactly how to follow this procedure. No fluff, all info. Liked and subscribed.
Super great video makes excited to learn more and get started! Love the "stay organized" motto !!

thanks, you helped me a lot!
Thank you for the videos that you post. They are very informative and a big help. But I am stuck on a problem. I want to curve, or rather, I want to bow some text that I am putting on the side of cylinder. I am creating a coin roll ( like a roll of pennies) and I want my text to curve to show the roundness of the roll. I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Can you help? Many thanks.
Great tutorial!!!
Thank you very much!
if i meet you, imma bow down to you, you helped me for my exams so much...!!! THANK YOUU
Love your tutorials
Hello everyone I have a problem in gimp i want to delete a selection in the active layer and it says : The active layer's alpha channel is locked (7:03)

Sir, can we create 3D mockup LOGOs in GIMP? OR just like your thumbnail can we create Logo mockup in GIMP?
What a great guide you are✌
Awesome tutorial, thx for sharing this. =)
Thanks great video. Hugs👍
Thanks! A lot!!!
Hi, I noticed in my version that "Snap to Guides" is not working, despite being selected.
Thanks!
wow,TY.
I have managed to make this logo on Inkscape. First as a circle and as a rectangle, we convert them to path, break nodes, after that convert stroke to path to move away the lines.
This reminded me of your video teaching Celtic Knot, which I think is much easier to do in Inkscape XD
Yes it is easier to make in Inkscape
how to mod this background that i want to do a snake from it (the zigzagoo for entire circle)??
It's impressive that you can do it (and have patience) in Gimp, but I would encourage people to do this kind of jobs in vectors - let's say in Inkscape.
BTW, great video, thanks. it's an older video perhaps latest gimp is the issue, but after I do the eraser and alpha, delete the layer and then hit delete, my overlapping layers don't clear. Any thoughts I what I'm missing?
bro " thank you "
all the respect for you
Thank you so much! I was able to make a new logo! You earned a sub and a like!
Hi Nick, may I use your logo for my sport team logo? I really love your circle and square design.
thank you for you tutorial but can you tell me how can I rotate the tool elptic? thankyou
Hi thanks for sharing this video. Here i got a problem after exporting the design. After i export the quality is very bad in png file. It does not have the brightness. How the design gets exported as good as it is made in the gimp?
Thank you
Hey Nick, I just will say Thx for this nice and simple tut. I did it the same way. So it´s easy to use for beginners, to learn about gimp and their function. Thanks so much and I like your tut´s and try to build it like you. I life in leipzig, east-germany, and work with Gimp since 5 years. How can I show you my result? Best regards, Marcel
I only have a few settings in that "Create a new layer" window. Why?
Hey dude, you make awesome tutorials. You've got many fonts and could I ask you to share your pack of fonts that are free to use?
Thanks very easy
You're awesome!
Amazing
Layer, Crop to content has worked for all apart from the third text box, but no cigar, still appears as a text box. Weird. I've tried deleting that particular text box and adding a new one and still no joy. Any ideas?
I love your GTA Saves xD
