There's always an awkward 30 seconds or more between the time when *that first person* knows what song is playing, and the rest of the audience catches up! LMAO
Ya know, I didn’t get Massive Attack when Tricky was involved, over the years they grew in their appeal and now they are everything you could ever want in a live act! Just awesome and Liz to boot eh’ just Wow!
Thank you for taking the video, but it misses so much of the visual commentary, which was really the main point about the show. Saw the show in NYC, what an experience!!!!
Elizabeth Fraser is a treasure. I often wished she had been better served by a backing band other than the Cocteau Twins, who could, at times, be dreadful and in no way a match for her voice.
I donna know ... but I think that although MA's performance was very professional, it seemed somewhat 'tired'. The vibrance just wasn't quite there. More routine than magical. But it was nice that their classic singers were on stage -- Horace & Liz. Too bad Hope Sandoval wasn't also there.
@@thomasfranche6770 I suppose that when a band plays the same songs over & over through the decades, the performance becomes rote and loses its passion.
A bit grind-y these days without Vowles... the cover choices are interesting, and some of the multimedia is neat, but I'm not sure that simply displaying references and creating atmosphere is enough... to these ears this sounds like Prog-Rock without the drum solos... ;)
Couldn't agree more. This is maybe the fourth or fifth time I've seen them, but by far the worst gig ("worst" being relative when applied to Massive Attack, of course). But there was no atmosphere at the gig (Manchester, UK) and when they dud manage to build up a bit of momentum, they'd drop in a pointless cover or a GCSE multimedia powerpoint and it would all go back to zero. Very disappointing.
Honestly I think the main reason is that this is to celebrate mezzanine and what was influential and sampled in its creation. Next tour will be different
@@michaelh4338 looks like they cut it out of the video. You can hear the whale-like intro sounds at 7:46, and then it immediately cuts to the start of 10:15. It's hard to notice since the screen is black during that whole time
