Yeah man, there is still a little hope, but less for this park in particular. It definitely deserves new ownership.
Thank You for posting this video & caring about our park. Not being from this area, you've become emotionally drawn to Fantasy Island. For alot of us, it was our summer thing to do. Then, we had families & brought them too. I honestly think that You or any one of us would've done a better job with the park than Apex did. As of right now in June of 2020, there are potential buyers interested in acquiring the park. We're all praying with "Marshall Dan" for this to happen. If it does, it will be a great thing!👍 Hopefully, we'll see you in 2021 sometime. You're now one of us! Thanks again for the support.
I hate to see any park close! This park in particular, doesn’t deserve to go out like this! Hopefully the park can be resurrected!
This is where we went for our annual family summer get together from 1969 We all live in Canada and traveled to meet up with our cousins every year. It hold lots of fond memories for me and I still have my deputy badge :) ..thanks for the walk down memory lane
I love that I could help you relive some memories, I think that's an awesome tradition. It's a shame the park isn't doing business anymore, lots of memories will be just that now.
I worked here 2 summers in the early 90s. In 1991 there was a death of a boy who fell from the original ferris wheel which was located in the kiddie park area. I believe it was determined that the bolts weren't tightened and the car he was in partually came off the wheel causing the boy to fall. After that, the ferris wheel was taken down and the new one you mentioned was put in the back of the park overlooking the NY state thruway.
It was the best when we were kids in the 70s went there a few times when we lived im Toronto and would take the drive to buffalo

My heart sanked when i heard it was closing. Great memories there!!! I do remember the log flume they had before they torn it down in 2014. That ride was pretty cool

The silver comet wasn’t created until 1999 if you’re talking about the original comet that was Crystal Beach which closed down before my time. Which was sold off and I think moved to another state but it’s definitely not at Darien Lake that I can tell you I local to the area. As a matter fact fantasy Island silver comet was actually a descendent homage to the original comet.
TheSSUltimateGoku Never said a word about Darien Lake lol but yeah, Silver Comet was based off of the Comet that is now at Great Escape.
Corey Mathery never mine I got it mixed up when you said six flags great escape. Since Darien Lake is owned by Six Flags again I heard that and just thought of Darien Lake lol.

I cried my eyes out when I found out it was closed. Fantasy island was like a second home to me.
Yeah it’s tough! I’m always at a loss when we lose good parks. It pains me dearly.
