If walt just got rid of Pinkman when he didn't need him anymore then he'd essentially have been bigger than the cartel ever was. I'm guessing with how well the writers and Bryan Cranston communicated Walt's narcissism, they added that detail on purpose to show how ppl with NPD mirror others for different reasons. It wasn't just that Walt got colder with every death, he took joy in the feeling of victory in being the last man standing as well as the aura of power it gave him

    • @rael1999
      @rael1999 Месяц назад

      @@dan_hitchman007 ...That's where Better Call Saul fell down for me. It should have been just a prequel connected to the BB World. The connecting part was rushed and poorly done, apart from the scene with Kim and Jessie outside Saul's office, which I thought was brilliant.
      Absolutely loved BCS too, but the 2nd half of the last series had characters acting nothing like how they'd been portrayed throughout the show(s), especially Saul's character. It was all over the place and some of the storylines just didn't make sense. Weird really, because everything up to that point was meticulous and very well thought out.
      BB was an absolute masterpiece of TV drama. The best I've ever watched for sure.

    • @dan_hitchman007
      @dan_hitchman007 Месяц назад

      @@rael1999 Actually, the ending makes perfect sense because Jimmy McGill and Saul Goodman were becoming two different people warring for control of his soul. Do you remember the reflection of Jimmy in the shiny wall of the courthouse representing a split in his personality?
      Saul was becoming the dominant personality and breaking even more bad (kind of like a dark entity). Jimmy started emerging toward the end and cooked up a plan to get everyone together, so he could atone for his sins, especially to Kim. He even acted poorly as Saul to the DA to have his sentence INCREASED.

    What I love about Breaking Bad is its ability to relate to characters of a fictional show. The struggles every character has to go through shows vulnerability, strengths, weaknesses in all of us. The combination of Jesse and Walt led to extreme situations for 'good' people. If you separated the two it is sad to think about their futures. Walt would have died loved by his family, taken care of by his friends who he refused help from. Jesse would have broken his habit and found love and peace with his partner. They wanted to be better for each other and were making steps to beating their addiction. To have these layers of depth to fictional characters is something rarely seen in cinema. Everyone reading this knows how amazing the show is though so.......

    I’d always wished Walt would’ve done all that and then when the last gang member was dead, you just see him and Jessie looking at each other, w Jessie thinking he’s finally been freed from the living hell he’s been trapped in for countless days weeks months…. When suddenly, a red and blue flash of lights appear on his face.. with the sound of several vehicles approaching… he looks at Walt in disbelief as to what is happening, only to be met w a menacing grin. Walt then takes the pistol, with a single bullet in its chamber, puts it to his head, and confidently pulls the trigger. He is finally at peace and met with the sweet embrace of death. He will never have to face the consequences for his actions. Jessie, still in shock realizes that walts final act of revenge was to frame Jessie for each and every death he’d just witnessed. After all, he is the last man standing. His moment of relief and freedom is quickly halted by immediate panic and fear. The police, who Walt had previously called anonymously, giving them their exact location and Jessie’s exact description, aggressively burst into the room shouting, guns drawn all on Jessie. He stands w his hands on his head frozen w tears pouring out of his eyes. Hes quickly put back into handcuffs just moments after being freed from them. Hes found guilty of the 12 counts of capital murder as well as all the charges he’s acquired previously. Hes sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He spends each day of the rest of his life in a concrete cell, never to experience joy again. Hes constantly harassed, both physically and sexually. As Walt never experienced a moment of consequence or confinement, Jessie had acquired enough for the two of them. That’s why you never talk to the DEA.

      Same with setting up the trunk gun bc there's no indication Walt loaded or set up that set up wearing gloves, therefore Walt's prints only are there.
      He would only get prosecuted using the felony death law which states that although Jesse didn't actually kill anyone, he's responsible by being part of the enabling crimes.
      Jesse also wouldn't get harassed imprison. Those same crimes plus his level within the meth business would give him respect & protection inside.

    The ending scene of Breaking Bad really proves that even through all the manipulation and violence that Walt committed, he really did love Jesse.

    Walter may be disowned by everyone he loved. but he protected them till his death. one of the best pieces writing and acting we have. its one of the few show i get philosophical over. and it perfectly encapsulates the way this life lives. death prison or losing EVERYTHING.

    Fucking amazing. Show is an absolute classic.
    The Sopranos and Breaking Bad are the best ever. Everything else is below.

    Mr. White realized its time make everything right. But, its never possible to undo anything so he tried his best to make things right, with his wife, with jesse, with everyone. Fantastically written character.

    That feeling you have as you watch the final scene, that’s what made the “slow start” worth it. Without the beginning, the end would mean Jack shit

    One of the best endings to any show in my opinion. Probably the best I've ever seen.
