I miss watching these awesome cars. Too bad the budgets got too expensive to be competetive like all high end race classes eventually seem to do. These GT1 cars were a million dollars each back in 1997 which other than the F1 cars was the most expensive cars to take racing.
the panoz guys had me rolling😂 it was a right place right time for racing here, sad to say we will never get back to a better sports car formula than this.
2 Questions: - What does it take to be "out of the race" aside from total mechanical failure or a big crash? When cars go off track, it seems like if they can get back on the course under their own power they can continue, but if they get stuck off road, they are forced to disqualify. - Any idea why Nissan wasn't in this series with their R390?
@@gregorymarsh9504 They probably thought the championship wasn't worth the expense, though it would have been interesting to see how they compared to McLaren, Mercedes and Porsche.
Great race
They need to open the rules for FIA wec imsa for more variety of cars and racers

Nissan were only interested in winning Le Mans. In some circumstances, cars can continue, rules vary on this though. 👍🏁
@@MontyMotorsport You'd think Nissan would benefit from running their car in this series for development testing and publicity. Interesting.
