This podcast was pure gold! Yazan is a true inspiration and his story is mind blowing. I greatly appreciate how he explained the hurdles at each juncture and this is so useful because I have never heard firsthand about people's ORE experiences. He was realistic and practical; something that is very rare. It's so daunting to even take the decision to do the ORE or not, but podcasts such as these are so helpful in sharing your mental experience. Thanks so much Jaz Gulati for taking the initiative!

Cannot forget my days of going through the journey of passing the exam !!! I had at least half a dozen of friends trying simultaneously to help me to register for the part 2 exam. It was a scene like from the Bollywood Movie Munnabhai MBBS... Can't forget those days ....

@JSR yes of course. It was over 11 years ago. The exam has a pass percentage of 15-17% , i.e. for every 100 people taking the exam , only 15-17 people pass the exam. I’m not sure of NEET. I passed the post graduate entrance exam back in the year 2000 in India (state entrance) and was ranked 3rd and did PG in Periodontics . I don’t know what is the system right now in India .

Amazing interview! worth a thousand websites/articles. I just want to shed the light on something - Yes, it is a tough and lengthy process BUT it is a FAIR one. For example, I am currently living in France and their process here is probably the most ridiculous in the world: you have between 300 and up to a thousand applicants, one exam, 4-5 questions all in writing long texts (zero objectivity), and they select only 2 or 3.Once you're done you have to work 2 years in a public hospital with ridiculous pay. This is just to say that ORE, it might take you 2 or 5 years, you might fail a few times, but you know that at the end of the journey you'll make it and one day you'll look back and say "I did it".
