Helpful as always Dan. Good description of Anhedonia. Must add that like many others facing this challenge it is made even more complicated when what use to bring us an extreme amount of pleasure was any type of physical WORK. Being into construction for many years was a complete joy after accomplishing many projects. Unfortunately besides the problems with getting off these horrible drugs, many like myself are now suffering from serious physical restrictions (eg: heart and/or pulmonary chronic illnesses) that no longer allow us to do the physical activities you suggested. There exist therefore the Anhedonia along side the fact that even if we were able to be motivated enough to get away from the "lay and pray" syndrome...we literally cannot physically do any of these activities. It is however encouraging to hear from you that there is hope, that the ability of being able to feel once again, is still out there. Thank you.

Thanks for this valuable and insightful comment. You are right- so many ill effects from these drugs. God, it’s absolutely devastating.

@@philosophicalfishing Thanks Dan....though I do have to clarify (in my case) that the additional chronic illnesses did not stem from the drugs themselves. Bad diet, smoking, and other life style choices are simply coming back to bite at the same time the complications from the bad effects of these drugs are occurring. Just to clarify. Take care!

Thank you for this message. I'm 14 months off and I started walking in month 5. I dont even know how I did it back then. I really had no choice. I'm in a bad living situation in a duplex. My horrible neighbor moved in Feb 22 right when I started my 6 month taper. I unfortunately can't relocate right now and feel so stuck. My only escape was to get out and walk. I do it every day but it still isn't easy and now it's getting colder. I live in Wisconsin. 🥶
I do agree that getting outside and doing something is helpful. A great pair of noise canceling headphones and music helps. I remember when I couldn't even listen to music. I didn't like anything not even my favorite artist's. Now I love it, so I guess there's some healing.
I was just telling someone that I still don't feel that great endorphin rush, at all. I get some of my frustrations out and that's it but I keep going because it keeps me kinda sane. I can't wait to feel that again.
Thanks for this because I was wondering if it was just me. Wishing joy for everyone at the end of the nightmare. ❤️🎄❤️

Thank you for this. I am sorry that you went through it too. That is very very bad. It’s the most insane non-feeling like you are an alien You are lucky for only a couple of months. I’ve had it 6 years now. 2 years of them off all meds. It makes me want to do drugs like smoke weed and stuff but I tried that and still felt nothing. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve got PSsD thats blunted emotions. I’ve heard that can be permanent. Yes you’re correct about the dopamine. It turns it off. From people, I have seen with the PSsD some people have been able to get their emotions back by doing stuff to the gut I guess because all our neurotransmitters are created in our gut. Probably not absorbing enough nutrients into the body to make the dopamine or whatever.
