Story one: super happy the op got his dog back. Definitely not the jerk. I have a friend whose dog was stolen from their home but they never found him so that makes me even more happy that they found their dog. I almost cried. As someone who owns three cats and one dog I would be absolutely *devastated* if someone took one of them.

I had a german shepherd mixed with a collie pup, and someone stole them when we were home, I was only about 8 or 9 when this happened, and the sholie (it is what the mix is called, i think anyway) was my second favorite dog, only beaten in being the favorite by my first dog's puppy, and they were best friends. The day that it happened, around 4 or 3 years ago, the man who stole her was putting her in his truck right in front of my house, not even considering how we were all looking for her. And right before he left, I saw him with her, her name is Alexa btw. So I told my mom and she ran outside to stop him, but he kept saying it was his dog and if we wanted her, we would have to pay thousands of dollars to get her when he couldn't even call a name she responded to until we said it and she started getting excited to hear us. After a while of them arguing, I was already crying and trying to get to Alexa when my mom decided to call the cops, and thankfully, we had a cop and sherif that lived right next to us (literally across the street). The sherif came out and everyone around there already knew we had Alexa and what she looked like since I loved taking her on walks. In the end, we got her back rather quickly after the sherif and cop got involved. The guy realized he messed up and had to pay charges for trying to steal Alexa.
The free beer story made my day. Nice to hear something good happening for someone's own good deed.

The second story is literally the average high school movie
I have a very nervous staffy cross and was in a shop while she was tied outside. A man came in and complained that this dog had but him, and was loose. My dog came running into the shop, no harness or anything on and a lady came in saying a man had tried to untie her and she bit him and ran. While she was saying this, the manager came over and saying he was calling the police cos my dog had attacked someone. I said first of all my dog was tied up, so if it had bit someone they must have approached her, her harness is missing, so the only way for that to happen is if someone had unclipped her and this lady just said she bit the man who was untying her. By now the poor bitten man was panicking and saying "I didn't want any trouble but the dog just attacked me". I pointed out the dog was tied away from the entrance and where people walked cos she was nervous and explained where, the manager said "oh, that area is covered by CCTV" . The lady who warned me the man was a thief came back with her harness and leader and told the manager what had actually happened and that the police had been called and were outside. By now the man was almost crying. but cops came took all our statements and one went upstairs to watch video while one stood watching me and the thief., as his matescame down from the office they arrested the thief, I watched them search him and as they took items out of his pockets, he had 2 packs of dog treats. My dog is a cross breed, so doubt it was for money, as I said she'd nervous and loud when I'm not there, so god knows why he chose her, but as I went back to pay for my shopping I found it all bagged and paid for by the store as the managers way of apologising for believing the man who'd been bit and waited for me outside again to say sorry. So I got free food out of it, but never heard what happened, can't believe the stupidity of someone who complained the animal he was stealing but him

This story is BS. Who cant find a chipped dog?! If she had warrants and you knew her location or possible locations the cops wouldve came either way. They wouldnt care about your papers to serve at that point. Yeah this story is not well thought out. A criminal who has warrants steals a chipped dog and you didnt do anything john wick.
