Thanks for your insight Dr.! I have had pre diabetes for 8 yrs. I take no medicine, but control it by diet. I have already had three fingers on my right hand operated on for trigger fingers, along with a carpal tunnel operation on the same hand. I never was told this info by my Dr. Make sense to me, because my hand, wrist and foot pain get less when I keep my blood glucose in check. It flares up during the holidays when I relax my discipline!

A friend of mine had this condition and it scared her and all of us really bad because it was so unnatural and surprising. Thanks for shedding light on this. She has passed away from multiple complications of diabetes including kidney and liver problems and finally Covid that she caught in the hospital after she had been vaccinated for Covid did her in.

I am T 2 disbetic for 15 + years. Have had similar problems with my ring and little finger. Can this problem be confused with Dupyitrons Contraction, they seem to have things in common and an operation has been suggested.

I have been pre-diabetic/insulin resistant for about 9-10 years. I have found your videos to be so informative and watch as many of them as I can. I was so surprised to see this video about trigger finger and how it is common among diabetics. I have experienced trigger finger for several years now, but recently it bothers me more frequently. I just thought it was something related to aging and wasn’t planning to seek treatment, but after seeing your video, I will schedule a drs appt asap. I don’t know if you are aware of the good you do through your videos. You are so appreciated! Thank you!

I have trigger finger in my right thumb. I also have carpel tunnel syndrome in both wrists. Surgery is scheduled for December 23, 2022 for both on the right side. Once healed I'll need surgery on my left wrist.
Thank for sharing the information in this video. No one told me that the trigger finger was from my diabetes.

I suffered trigger fingers over a year ago but didn't realised it was connected to my hypothyroidism and type 2 diabetes. I just adjusted my diet to a healthier one, got less obsessed with daily cleaning etc. thus resting my hands, didn't take any medication for it and now my fingers are 95 per cent back to normal. All that's left is a bit of dull pain on finger joints but it's very manageable. I guess the avocadoes, chia seeds and blueberries on porridge and turmeric with black pepper capsules helped.

You know what helped me with this? My thumb was really bad. I started taking Krill oil and within a week my thumb was 100% better. It’s now been a little over a month and my thumb is still good. 😊

Good relevant information. Have a friend that is pre diabetic. In denial of course. She has trigger finger. Ring finger right side . She is right handed. Had to have corrective surgery that helped for several years. Now the condition has returned . Good to know the correlation between diabetes and this condition. Thank you Dr.😊

I had this happen to my right thumb. I had to manually pop it back into position. It was so painful. So I taped it in its erected position and did that for some time...don't remember how long. And it healed and is totally okay for years now. I also had carpal tunnel syndrome and I used a hand brace for some time. Even wore it LOOSELY (not tight, you don't wan to cut off your circulation) at night to keep from having painful attacks while sleeping. And wore it during the day, tighter though, to do my housework. Don't remember how long I did that either. But I again was healed. By the way, I do enjoy watching your videos!!!!

Thank u for this info! I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 33+ years ago. I've had surgery to correct 3 trigger fingers, had another trigger that happened recently, have had surgery on both hands to correct the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome but developed yet ANOTHER trigger finger directly after the Carpal Tunnel surgery on my right hand. (sigh) I've also had the 'frozen shoulder' in both shoulders. I also have diabetic neuropathy in both feet (so far, just in the toes) and my feet/toes stay extremely dry and I didn't even realize until recently that the neuropathy is a HUGE contributing factor to the dryness.

I currently take Metformin and otherwise control it with diet and exercise (not always 100% effective). I will certainly stay alert to the symptoms -- so far, so good.

Several years ago, I think I had trigger finger. First one and then another finger would catch when I bent them. I don't have that problem now. Since that time, I have got my blood sugar levels better by changing my diet. I don't know if that is the reason my fingers got better, but I don't know what other reason there would be.

I have this but only developed it over the last few months after being on basaglar insulin for some time. When I don't take insulin the trigger finger is not as bad or not even there. I have diabetes 2. I would like to stop taking insulin because of this and other side effects of the insulin and am going to mention this at my next endo appt. I'm also thinking I could be insulin resistant. Thanks for your info.

I know this isnt "trigger finger", but thought someone here could direct me.
The back of my hands feel like a burning frying pan touches it. It also feels numb, like I'm feeling through plastic gloves. My 2 first fingers and thumb feel numb at the tips. Doctors and neurologist did all kinds of tests. They don't know why.
There was much more. Pain in legs and arms. All in my body felt like I was plugged into electric socket for months.
Doctor sent me to a psychiatrist. Psychiatrist wouldn't see me. Told me they don't treat pain.
    Any ideas?

When I force it open I can feel at the base of the finger the knucle on my hand snaps open.
