It's officially been 6 months since I left Korea and I miss Seoul so, so much, I can't describe it. I remember commenting on one of your videos around the time I flew back home and you were like "you'll be back, the Seoul bug bites hard!" and you are SO RIGHT omg... My life right now is just a bore, focusing solely on my bachelor thesis and my 2 side jobs, and I can't wait to get that over with and travel again, though not for a whole 5 months this time around (study abroad). I would die to go back with one of my exchange friends.
its the worst but i hope it just motivates you to work towards the dream of coming back! its what made my senior year my most productive year ever hahahaa

The journaling is such a good idea!! I feel like it would help me celebrate the mundanity of life more. Even if it was a day you ran into friends at the cafe, that’s still just as special as traveling the world. Loved loved it!

I haven’t done anything in Seoul but I used to help with planning events for marketing professionals here in the US. Sometimes you can ask a cafe or restaurant to be an event sponsor and basically get them to rent you the place (or a private room) for free or a discounted price on a day/night where they usually don’t have much business, usually midweek. Then they get the benefit of having a large group who spends money on food/drinks and sometimes also a social media shoutout. Not sure if that will work for you but might be worth a try. Good luck with your meetups! 😊

What a coincidence, I got a journal today. In the last few months my life has changed quite a bit, I've become a pet parent, and I've been missing the feeling of writing things down Physically. I used to write daily in a diary back in high school, after getting back into reading I thought about keeping a reading journal. Then this baby came along and I badly wanted to keep notes on her growth and all the new things she was learning about like the taste of chicken and her first nap on my lap... Finally I got this journal, it's plain ruled since I change my mind a lot. Can't wait to start filling it up. Looking forward to seeing your journal grow, I'll be taking inspiration.

First off, Happy Birthday! Glad you made it through another year. Secondly, interesting video. When you were talking about not wanting it to be just about you, it seems you don't realize it's always about you, but not necessarily just you the person, but rather how you see the world, and life itself.
I've been watching your videos for awhile now, trying to figure out who and what you are. In addition to you being an interesting person, you also have a way of looking at the same world we all live in, but in a unique and almost storybook way. Either that's why you're drawn to reading, or your reading habits have calibrated you to see or want to see the world that way. It's almost child-like in some ways, in that it's genuine and not just for show. I think it's part of the reason why people are drawn to your channel, so we can see how life looks through your eyes. You're an artist in many ways, not just a painter, sculptor or someone who draws sketches. You're a life experience artist.
You seem to be a person of perpetual motion. You have to be doing, planning on doing, going, planning on going, reading, planning on working, etc. Constantly. Being more than twice your age, I don't have that kind of energy anymore, but it's interesting to watch and remember my own days of long ago.
Looking at your book choices, it seems you like books that exercise your emotions, yet your speaking style and the way you communicate when talking to us is so soft and gentle. I don't know if that's because you don't like to be loud and showy (most likely) or you're just trying to be discrete. The music you choose for your videos fits that though; it fits you; the solo individual journeying through life and the world. It has the feel of what we're seeing. That's how you seem to see things, yet there's also that side of you that's very much a people person. Looks like 2023 is going to bring out more of that side.
You're a person of many sides, many facets. Very interesting. Thank you for taking us with you in 2022. It was an interesting year, wasn't it? Here's to 2023; may it bring you health, happiness and many wonderful moments.

7:15 for walking on ice.. cleats/microspikes. I have a set of Stabil-Icers. Yak Traxs are another good option. Less expensive versions run about $20-30 USD.

Happy new year! Loved the fireworks, the snowfall and the sledding footage. I thought of you today because my friend got a job in Seoul. Unfortunately, his wife and kids have to stay in Florida. I am sure they will travel to visit each other. I was super excited for him but jealous because you have shown me the beauty of South Korea. I guess I will have to make tteobokki this week. Thanks also for the New Years goal inspo. I live in gloomy Connecticut. It’s been all rain, no snow. Fingers crossed for some better weather soon. I still walk by the ocean for my mental health. I’m usually the only person on the beach. Kind of like it that way.

I really enjoy your channel....in part for the content, but you are also a great videographer as well....the footage of the fireworks in Busan were amazing!! Your videos are great quality from start to finish and have the ability alone to tell a story...they really are quite beautiful. I started off the new year with carpel tunnel surgery, so I hint to others who are doing things repetitively with their hands and fingers to be careful! I'll have to look up the book you re-read. You’re definitely reader and journaling goals. 😊 Perhaps if I took your minimalist (non sentence writing) approach to journaling I’d do it consistently. Audiobooks are what I need to read books in their entirety. But I understand the value and vibe of having a physical book in hand. I love that you are almost always out and about even in the colder weather. It’s a great mood lifter. The museum that you exhibited was such an interesting concept- especially the magnifying glasses to look at the small photo proofs. I’m so excited that your parents are coming to visit.

Old photos are interesting because even the media like slides evoke a historical timeline. While looking at your own family photos is different from looking at strangers each in their own way bring back memories that we can all relate to. Now, we don't print pictures so much as save them so I wonder how that will impact future generations and there ability to retain the memories.
i also think older photos were more precious because we took them on special occasions (or at least not every day like we do now)!

Last year I had gotten into a really good habit of writing in a journal most days. Just a few short sentences so I could practice writing my own sentences in Korean. Idk why but I stopped and I really want to get back into it. Looking through it is so fun not just to see what I was doing but also to see how much I improved. Kinda sad I missed a few months. Hopefully this one works out for you. Also totally agree romanisation of Korean names/words/anything is so hard to read compared to hangul!
Hangul fixes everything! And yesss hopefully we both fully commit to journaling again hehe
