I saw these episodes years ago as a young kid. These episodes hit hard then. But nothing compared to now. I lost my wife a month ago to cervical cancer. We had a dream to full time RV together. Now I'm on that journey alone. Just last week I gave all the last of my wife's things to her daughter from another marriage. I did manage to keep a handful of keepsakes. The rings, the blouse slash miniskirt I saw her wear in the picture I first ever saw of her online, I also kept this gorgeous dress I bought for her that she only got to wear once and somehow didn't get a picture of her in it. And the last thing I kept was her cat hat. I remember when she died at 2pm on March 17th. It took me almost 5 hours to go back to the RV parked at the hospital. It took me another hour just to leave the parking lot. Once I parked for the night. It took me almost two weeks to sleep in the bed again. Often times I'm still sleeping on the couch. But I keep on for my animals and because my wife I know would not want me moping around too long
I'm so sorry. I lost Mom Three years ago in the beginning of July, I ALWAYS find comfort in any type of sitcom as a reflection/distraction/ and joy especially when episodes reflect what we've been thru as humans.❤❤❤❤ I'm sorry for your loss❤❤God Bless U❤ 🙏
Hang in there. Find something positive to do each day no matter how difficult that may be right now. Allow yourself to grieve. May you find comfort in memories of happier times. (((Hugs)))🙏💐
Thank you for posting this episode. Archie's place is my favorite sitcom of all time right now. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Keep them coming🇺🇸🙏🙏🇺🇲♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️☠️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🔥👆
As I always said, Archie was not a sick, hateful racist, like a lot of people were then, he was just raised in an ignorant time in the world. He truly had a heart for everyone, even though he still tends to make comments towards races without thinking first. What a one of a kind actor, played the New York accent, Heat of the night was an amazing performance with the southern accent. I really miss Caroll O'Connor.
That's crazy, I don't know what I was thinking of too. I'm like wait a minute, laptops didn't exist in 1980. LOL! I really thought she was on her laptop for a second. 😂
Ghahhhh watching this again after decades and still I break down crying right along with Archie. Sad couple episodes of Edith being sick then passing away. Heartwrenching... great acting. Carrol O'Conner gifted actor and truly missed.
Love this episode another one that I really like is the one where Archie considers selling the house after Edith died. If I recall ''Archie Alone'' actually begins with Archie sleeping on the couch, and then he goes and wakes up Stephanie. The scene in the kitchen takes place after that.
I can tell you i just saw this tonight on tv and it hit home because i lost my dad and I felt like Stephanie being treated differently I kept to myself a lot it was very hard i saw this and i actually cried during this
Yes, I heard he wrote as well, and produced the show, as well as being a great actor and versatile when he played Archie, New York accent, Chief Galespi, southern accent and a great movie, Return to me, played an Irish guy, great Irish accent. Carroll was a one of a kind
If anyone plans on watching this, skip ahead to about 5:45 to avoid a shitload of COMMERCIALS!!! Then RUclips will throw in some of their own. Ridiculous!! 👎👎👎
Sorry I had to record it as it was that it came on Antenna TV couldn't bypass the commercials otherwise I would get a copyright strike. I can't do anything about RUclips adding advertisement in between the video and I apologize for the inconvenience that has caused you. I tried to do my best with this video.
Yes they cut out the opening scene of Archie on the couch when the alarm rings, waking Stephanie up with the ringing alarm clock, and her getting his clothes ready. When I first watched this back in 1980 I thought they had added a hot new girl to the cast. Then when I realized 43:40 it was just Stephanie in her nightgown, I was blown away on how quickly she had grown up. She wasn't the tiny 'lil kid deadbeat father Floyd Mills dropped off on Bunkers doorstep anymore!
@@jackmcgee5331 I know they probably won't do it, but would be cool to see some of the cast who are still with us reunite like Danielle, Denise, Barry, & Abraham Alvarez
What a sad couple of episodes, and I don't think anything that the audience was laughing about was particularly funny but I guess they came to see a comedy.

One of the best episodes that you can ever watch. Stephanie was so cute in her corduroy overalls.
Archie breaking down kills me. I cry with him every time I watch this.

Pure acting genius!
Scott, you said it short and sweet, but better than anyone could phrase it.
Writing genius as well
Best show ever I watch this show as a kid
It is the greatest. We can all relate to the subjects of these episodes. Real-life issues.
i absoutly love watching archie bunker and all in the family as well yes good job posting this
I still tear up at the end of this
Archie evolved pretty good he came a long way since the first AITF episode
I am going to die of old age before the ads end!!

I saw all in the family in the 70s and saw Archie bunkers place in the early 80s and in the heat of the night in the late 80s
Ben Stiller's mother Anne was a beautiful woman.

I don't want to see anyone die again signing it won't bring her back
The Antenna TV version of this episode is heavily edited and is missing a few things.

@@MrRight80 I don't see any interest in a TV reunion. Maybe one of these has beens need money autograph conventions could put something together.
@@jackmcgee5331 no, but maybe if they do a Dark Side of Comedy Documentary on O'Connor, they could interview the remaining cast.
😊 funny
made me tear up frfr
You could not edit out the annoying ads?
😇😇😇
Way to many commercials
Why am I getting ads? I pay RUclips every month for no ads!

They assumed that when's it's on RUclips there's no ads. Eventhough it from the television broadcast.

edith would have never ordered cosmetics so this was lame
I think the point was that she couldn't say no or turn someone away

Wayyyyy too many ads…..cut it back
6 mins of ads before the episode even started. Totally ridiculous!!!
Blame the television network this recording came from and the uploader who forgot to edit them out.
