  • This video shows the Parkersburg, West Virginia Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza store in around August of 1992, which shows the store playing the Planes, Trains And Automobiles (August) 1992 showtape being performed on their 3-Stage. This store opened at some point in 1983 as a Showbiz Pizza Place with the Rock-Afire Explosion. By this point in 1992, the store seems to have a weird look between the brightness of the store and the 1988 movie parody posters from the 1988 remodel (Phase 2) and the lack of posters and wooden walls of its Showbiz Pizza Place days. Whether this was due to the store recently remodeling or the franchisee being lazy with the remodel is entirely unknown, although i believe it’s the latter of the two. Also worth mentioning is that Chuck’s stage curtain is stuck open for whatever reason, and that Jasper has Billy Bob’s guitar and not Beach Bear’s. The store would later close at an unknown point in 1998. All rights go to CEC Entertainment.

Allegedly the Clarksburg, WV also got CU before converting into a Billy Bobs Wonderland

I think you might be thinking of Huntington, because Billy Bob’s Wonderland never did have a Clarksburg location.

@@Mitzi675 do you think I don’t know that, because I did. Clarksburg closed its location in 1988, ten years before Parkersburg, while Huntington closed in 1987 and became Billy Bob’s Wonderland 2 years later before closing and relocating. I should know, the employees told me!

This is a really great find! And this is coming from a Parkersburg resident himself, though I was born in Charleston.

One of the few stores to keep it after CU. I know that Raleigh NC and Pheonix AZ also kept it after CU.
