Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza: American Pride 1993 and Mony Mony (Mobile, AL)

This video shows the Chuck E. Cheese’s store in Mobile, Alabama in July of 1993, which shows the store playing the American Pride 1993 showtape with the Mony Mony live show from 1993 and Birthday Star 1992 being performed on their 3-Stage. The store opened in February 1982 with a Rock-Afire Explosion as a Showbiz Pizza Place. In the late 80s, the store got the 1988 remodel (or Phase 2), and would later get a 3-Stage in around 1991-1992. What’s interesting is that the show at this point had most movements working, with some flows being off. This is most likely the start of Brian Hagan’s work on the show, as he said he joined in around July 1993. This store would remodel to the 1993 remodel (or Phase 3) by the mid to late 90s, and between 1995 to 1996, their stage would receive different looks, such as the Vegas Stage, Winter Stage, and the Playroom Stage, which became the permanent stage for a couple of years. By March 1999 however, the Playroom Stage had been removed and the stage was basically a void up until either later that year or 2000. The store would then remodel to the 2005 remodel (or Phase 4) by the mid 00s, in which they would keep the 3-Stage, with some of the modifications, such as Jasper’s barrel, Munch’s organ legs, and Pasqually’s positioning staying. Chuck’s Tux apparently stayed on him until 2010 when it was replaced by the Avenger outfit. The store would remain mostly the same (with some changes like Chuck getting a Rockstar shirt in 2016) until remodeling in October 2019 due to their 2.0 remodel. As of January of 2024, Mobile is still open with 2.0. All rights go to CEC Entertainment.

Chuck being an absolute boss up on the railing 😎 I have no idea if they were allowed to do that but I love it. I just love the energy of the cast playing Chuck and Helen! Can't forget about the others in the back though, it was really sweet to hear them and the others singing along with the birthday song! This should be the modern bday show!! Great video! 👍

I believe this was right around the time he got hired, as almost all movements are working with the flows being a bit wonky sometimes. Crazy to think that only 2 years after this video that the Vegas Stage would be installed.

I have a question. For segment 3 did the song start playing right after the curtains open? Or did the curtains open while the song started playing? Or was the curtains open the whole time and the song started playing while the curtains were open the whole time?

Did that song start playing right after the curtains open completely or did it play during the curtains opening? By looking at the footage it looks like it’s right after the curtains open completely but at the same time I can’t figure it out

I believe you’re correct! That’s how a lot of the 90s programming was like, the song would start after the curtains were almost entirely open
