You shouldn't remove the first nut completely the U bolts normally shake so the impact beats are useless after you remove the first nut installet again and remove the second nut from rust
I tried removing nuts from a brake caliper with my 1000 foot pound impact wrench 1/2 with a small socket and that mf won’t loosen up 🤣 I put a bigger socket that mf came off super easy I was ready to return my impact I was like fuck this shet 😅 but sockets do really help size and also if ur in a tight space well good luck 👍
The U Bolt is loose [shaking] your loosing most if not all of the impacts. Tighen the other one back up and try again. Or wedge something in the back there to secure the U Bolt.
If I got easy access to whatever I'm breaking lose I always use the big old cheap impact deep wells. They are super thick the weight and extra rigidity helps a lot transferring the power of the impact to the bolt.
Every impact is being absorbed by the movement of the bracket. It really is important to understand how an impact actually works. A 3/8 extended handle ratchet would remove these without an issue.
Is your impact cutting in and out? You might have the H96B which were recalled. I would check and get a replacement if that is the case, they are not built to the same standards as the H96A.
These trailers are the bane of my existence. I worked for a trailer repair place for 6 years and I’d get these in all the time for rust repair. Fucking hated them with a passion. Most of them had been cut and shut too because they were imported from the states and our legal width in aus is 2500 and they were over. So rust before they even enter the country

I had a little 14mm bolt that the same setup, high torque + xc6.0 couldn’t handle. I had on my deep socket so it was full beans. Blowtorch, penetrating oil. Not sure how but it was impossible
The 6.0 HO has Samsung t30 cells that are actually more powerful then the 8.0ah and 12.0ah HO’s that have t40 cells. The t40 cell last longer but the t30 stays cooler and discharges more amps with a lower voltage drop, comparable to the new Forge battery
Where could I find the sockets to fit this impact drill? Home Depot doesn’t have it, ACE hardware store doesn’t have it either. If anyone knows what’s the socket or adapter I need that would be great thank you.
One issue u got is the b model impact. Mine does that also where it would impact for like a slight seconds n then finally go. Also milwakuee has this on most of there impacts is the battery wobbles so much due to impacts from the actual tool causing the battery terminal connections to spread causing low power
Those u-bolts should’ve been cut off anyway, if they were that rusty! Just because you have an impact wrench doesn’t mean it’s the first thing you go to.
@@jvke.pI hope I’m not wrong brother but that looks like the mid torque. I work on Diesels and my high torque has done great in many situations. I use my mid torque a lot though, and I’m some occasions the 1 inch monster is standing behind waiting for its opportunity to shine in case the high torque isn’t doing the job.
All of these people talking about sockets what your problem really is the vibration if you lean against the board or even sat on it preventing it to move, it would’ve came out much easier. How because all your impact is going into that board thing and not the bolt hence why it’s vibrating in the first place
That's not how u take u bolts out. As the other comments on here have already said, try putting a vice grip on the bolt part to hold it still. I used to do u bolts on straight trucks and even a 3/4" air gun wouldn't get em out if I let it wobble like that.
Do you know 100% this will work take yourself free propane or Mapp gas torch and heat them bolts up to as hard as you can spray wd40 on blaster then put impact
How weird, I thought Milwaukee was a really good brand. I took apart my boat trailer bunks and replaced everything at the storage yard, including the stands with a Porter Cable impact and a standard 2 amp hour battery.
Man put some pb on that rusty ass boat it’s probably bonded itself together with the rust. You can’t just manhandle everything. But I have no idea what your arsenal looks like.
impacts lose almost all their capability if the whole assembly is loose. clamp it down or put the first nut back on. or better yet cut the damn thing only idiots would re-use that rusty junk.
I used to use that impact all the time but the 3/4" hits harder and it doesnt twist the anvil into a spiral. 1/2" mid torque hits the perfect amount for that size of anvil
Put back the other nut, snug it then rip the last one out. All that movement robbed it of the torque. It's like trying to use a worn out socket
