For me, although Ruffalo's portrayal is adequate for a geeky and nervous Banner, Norton really matches the neurotic and unbalanced side of Banner as he usually portrayed in the comic. For him to reprise the role for an Immortal Hulk movie/series would be a dream come true.
Ruffalos portrayal is effectively an emasculated Hulk, who for large parts of the series was scared of his own shadow. This quality was portrayed as a virtue, whereas Nortons portrayal was far more cutting against the bone and tried to wrestle with the tensions inherent in all people. It's no coincidence, ultimately, that once Disney got involved in the franchise Hulk ceased to be an exploration of the difficulties with self control that we tend to face, and more about infantalizing aggression to resonate with a wider audience.
I think savage hulk would slightly edge out immortal hulk as far as portrayals Norton could pull off. Immortal is more intelligent but showing off savage hulk could really bring out exactly why Banner is so keen on getting rid of hulk.
Hell no, Norton is too cool to be Bruce Banner...have you read a comic book?? Banner is a scientist and in most portrayals is a nerd. RUFFLO IS THE BEST BANNER.

It's great because now like Edward Norton is being called back not by Marvel but by the fans that movie is so underrated and as bad as Edward Norton thought it was trust me Ed you made that movie favorite scene is when your eyes turn green for the first time bring back the classic
I loved Norton’s portrayal of Banner, and I think he would have been an amazing choice if they had ever chose to delve deeper into the more unsavory aspects of Banner we’ve seen in the comics. His capability for pettiness, narcissism, jealousy, cruelty, disdain for his teammate and even the human race,. Bruce is no this gentle, altruistic, bleeding hear kind of guy that Ruffalo plays him as. He’s cunning, cruel, ruthless and quick to anger, he is very much his father’s son. I feel Norton could have embodied that well onscreen. As for his Hulk, I liked that he was larger, more savage, not to mention Norton’s Hulk was true and accurate to the Hulk’s abilities, taking the time to showcase that he did in fact grow stronger as he became angrier when he overcame total defeat by fueling his rage. Also, and this his the fanboy in me, Norton’s Hulk used the Thunder-Clap...’Nuff Said.
Honestly Norton would’ve have been a good fit in the current MCU in my opinion. Most people consider his more grounded and darker tone from the Universal movie not to fit the rest of the MCU but in my opinion I think that would’ve worked out perfectly. I feel like Bruce Banner would really be that character who is more grounded than the rest of the Avengers. He’s not a god, or a billionaire, or a Super Soldier, he’s just a guy who’s trying to fix a problem. I feel like his more realistic input in scenes would’ve have been a great addition to see. Really wish we could’ve gotten him back.
Norton is his own worst enemy, though. He is too hard to work with, not a team player, always tries to have massive input into the script and so on. It's not just me saying it, it's well known in the industry that he's like that. At some point, you just tell someone like that to piss off & you hire another actor.
TheNewAeon2012 I don’t think he’s his own worst enemy though. I don’t believe he is being a diva or anything like that, He just has love for the craft and tries to challenge directors and give his input...I hate that some directors don’t want to be challenged at all and that they’re these Gods that can’t take any critiques or advice from actors.
Norton hulk was the best for me. It reflects a more realistic and similar to the one we remember from comic books. He gave the character a depth and darkness that it requires. I don’t like the comedic/dumb/ genius twist of the new hulk. But I get it, you can’t market a dark character to younger audience. It’s not good for business
He nailed it - Bill Bixby was the best. No one has come close to bringing the level of humanity and tragedy to that character. He was such an incredible actor.

I really enjoy The Incredible Hulk. It has my favorite Hulk design in anything I've seen. To be completely fair, I think that Comcast (or some weird company like that) still own most of the rights to Hulk, so Marvel was a littles restricted on what they were allowed to do with him. I still think his story line was piss poor
@@AnarchyMetal03 My understanding is that while the rights to the character for movies reverted back to Marvel and thus why he can be used in the MCU, Universal has a perpetual clause in the contract to have the right of first refusal to distribute any solo Hulk films. This was fine for The Incredible Hulk movie because Marvel was still mostly just doing the production of the movies and partnering up with other companies to distribute them. Now, they are owned by Disney that does it's own distribution, but they can't get around that they have to at least offer Universal the chance to distribute it and get a cut of the revenue. So, what they have been doing instead is having an underlying arc for Hulk in the MCU movies, but this is hard to do when you have different directors and writers over the course of these movies and trying to keep subplots together with the main story. It also doesn't help that scenes that would have further explained the romance between Hulk and Black Widow were cut for time. So, it kind of left their story end abruptly and seem unfinished.
My favorite Hulk moment in the movie was when Hulk threw a boulder and yelled at the thunder for interrupting them. Would been work in for when the same Hulk later met Thor.

Immortal Hulk needs an adaptation
@The Secret Service It wasn't bad
Eric bana was the worst hulk
Nathan Venter I disagree
Nortan’s Hulk was SUPER underrated
For me, although Ruffalo's portrayal is adequate for a geeky and nervous Banner, Norton really matches the neurotic and unbalanced side of Banner as he usually portrayed in the comic. For him to reprise the role for an Immortal Hulk movie/series would be a dream come true.
Bana matches with the more angsty and troubled Banner
Ruffalos portrayal is effectively an emasculated Hulk, who for large parts of the series was scared of his own shadow. This quality was portrayed as a virtue, whereas Nortons portrayal was far more cutting against the bone and tried to wrestle with the tensions inherent in all people. It's no coincidence, ultimately, that once Disney got involved in the franchise Hulk ceased to be an exploration of the difficulties with self control that we tend to face, and more about infantalizing aggression to resonate with a wider audience.
@@MrXaphus yeah
I think savage hulk would slightly edge out immortal hulk as far as portrayals Norton could pull off. Immortal is more intelligent but showing off savage hulk could really bring out exactly why Banner is so keen on getting rid of hulk.

Joe: i fuckin loved it

I loved The Incredible Hulk because it took the best elements of both the comic and the classic t.v. show.

To be completely fair, I think that Comcast (or some weird company like that) still own most of the rights to Hulk, so Marvel was a littles restricted on what they were allowed to do with him. I still think his story line was piss poor
@James Maynard I think you meant Paramount (a Comcast company) but yes, they own some rights over the Hulk franchise, also NAMOR.
