honestly i love the way that she's taken a risk and i wish more pop artists would. this is how music moves forward so we're not stuck in this dream pop/disco era pop music has been stuck in since the beginning of the pandemic. also this the exact reason for hyperpop the vision sophie and a.g cook (among others) had and the work they did (with the help of charli) to pioneer the genre into the mainstream and get these traditional pop artists to start making the switch into it because hyperpop is and has always been the future of pop music.
I have been actively ignoring her for awhile now, so I wasn't aware of the discourse surrounding her new image and the song. What I find interesting is how apathetic people are feeling towards it, including Pitchfork. That was something I felt while listening to her last couple of songs. I wouldn’t be shocked if it debuts in the top 40, and then it drops off soon after. This may be her last chance to get some attention.

i think a lot of people are too quick to judge the extent of her "authenticity" when all they know of her is the image that a very loud and opinionated subset of the internet perpetuates. i mean most people don't know her beyond havana and senorita. they see her as solely a latin-pop artist simply because that's what she's famous for. she literally grew up in miami, come on, you think she was never exposed to hip hop or club or house music?

Well someone has to be the one person to actually say that they love this song and have actually been obsessed with it. I especially love the slower and reverb version. But yea I understand the criticisms. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion & have their own musical preferences. I watched her interview about the song and upcoming album and I’m very excited to see what comes next.
Can we normalize allowing artists to explore different styles or genres of music without tearing them down or labeling everything as bad or good because it's very discouraging and limiting, i personally am obsessed with the song i still find it very Camilla the energy the confidence and her unique voice makes me want to put on that striking blue eyeshadow and go explore a new country in full speed with this song blasting in my ears and just be in this overly excited and unstoppable era and say that "i luv it"
She is being adventurous, not giving a fcuk about anything anymore and just making music she finds fun. Nobody owns a genre , artists should evolve. Her albums are versatile and honestly all of us grow and change. Authenticity isn't a fixed mark. Her playlists have always been diverse and she has been a huge fan of it since years. Moreover her voice fits in perfectly
at this point, i think we are not getting it. Or maybe he'll do a triple album review when Tay would release ttpd. Maybe he's planning to review es, cowboy charter, and ttpd all at once.
crazy that she never mentioned being inspired at all in her recent zane lowe interview. Not saying she HAS to say the word "hyper pop" and mention charli xcx. But throughout the interview it she's making it sound like she's the first to do it.
She did mention Charli, she said it’s a compliment to be compared to her and how she wants to try a new sound. Y’all are reaching for reasons to hate her.
She should have introduced her new “persona” by soft launching personal Spotify playlists and make blogs where people could actually see the process of change and influence she went through.. because without it it feels gimmicky
Camila has done hyperpop before and worked with sophie on “Love Incredible”. she’s also done genres like mariachi, arabic, r&b, dark pop, cumbia, salsa, disco, rock, and more. it’s not a surprise she’s switching up the sound of her music again she’s always been versatile
It's definitely a left turn. I actually thought she was going to do a Spanish language crossover. Even though she's not as big in the U.S., she has big fans in Latin America and Spain. The new song is ok... let's see how the album goes.
@@Poo_78 obviously your opinion is valid. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not good. Personally, I think Eternal Sunshine is a great album.
Honestly I love Camila Cabello’s old music! She had a lot of good songs! This new song that just came out took me by surprise. I was not expecting it. I don’t hate the song, but I don’t love it either and I’m hoping once the album is released that there will be some good songs on there.
I’ll give her this, she’s not afraid to try different sounds, she’s versatile. I can understand that some people might think she’s ripping off other artists (Charli xcx) or it’s just for shock value but maybe because it was a pretty quick change in her image. The song isn’t bad, it’s a grower for sure, I’m actually curious how the album is gonna sound like Edit: also, the song doesn’t sound a like a rip off Charli xcx song to me at all, she’s definitely inspired by her and you can hear it but not a rip off
i don't mind artistic exploration but this seems like her 87th attempt at clinging onto different styles to stay relevant. she's throwing whatever at the wall and hoping it sticks
the "i luv it i luv it i luv it" is a sample from a Rihanna song. idk why the internet loves to hate on Camilla but charli didnt invent hyperpop and she has no claim to it, Rihanna and gucci main are the only ones who have a claim to this song cuz they are sampled, and they were credited and paid so whats the issue?
Why can’t people understand that it’s normal that someone’s sense of style could evolve and change their look? You don’t know what’s going on in her life. I didn’t even know she was my age. Being 26, you start to figure out that life really sucks lol so maybe she felt a more grunge look
Smh you guys be calling everything people do cringe these days in 2024. Like make it make sense babe lol. You guys aren’t making any fucking sense no more, y’all are so annoying and delusional. Stop bringing back cringe culture boo, it’s dead fr.
To say that she never "dipped her toe in prior" or that she's never had a fully formed sound as an artist makes me think you've never actually listened to her discography. She's had this mix of latin-pop with dark-pop in literally every single album she's released. And there have now been 3 so far. That's her sound. Latin dance mixed with edgy pop. I don't believe she's ever gone full on hyperpop, but she's released multiple songs throughout her entirety as a solo artist that are very adjacent to that sound. Like we have Love Incredible, Psychofreak, Bad Kind of Butterflies, even Find U Again and Never Be The Same have some elements to it. This rebrand isn't even remotely out of left field for me. It's the sound she has been giving in her music since forever that I always liked the most and feel is way more authentic to her than even the latin stuff. Let's recall her first solo single she ever released was "Crying in the Club" and that was supposed to be the first song off of her album "The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving" until she released her two droplets "OMG" and "Havana" which the latter unexpectedly started taking off and going viral so she completely changed the direction of her album to include mostly a latin-infused sound. Literally up until that point, her sound had been strictly dark pop. If anything, the move to latin music was inauthentic. This is new direction is the natural progression to what she should have been as an artist had Havana never taken off. And that's very clear considering she's so bored of the latin stuff that she's made a complete 180.
I mean this rebrand happened bc she hasn't been relevant for years so she needed to do something but like you said it feels unnatural as for the song it's ok nothing outstanding
I'm 32 but I know in my heart my 'old timer' card is already active because listening to that mumbling mess got on my nerves 😂 Hey, artists are allowed to reinvent themselves and try new things (look at Beyonce's current era). However, this did come WAY outta left field. I don't know if this will payoff though... Only time will tell.
popular opinion: her romance album is the best and only dont go yet and maybe bam bam of off the familia were good. i think that album flopped big time. it was also weird how they kinda promoted "live" performances sponsored by tik tok. i think she's best at making songs like in romance (or either i just really miss 2019 and that era). i get it her personality is like chill and lil crazy hot girl summer stuff and generally this kind of vibe kinda sticks with her. i just cant get over the fact how in 2020 till 2022 she was talking about earth and loving and adoring it where now she just switched it up 360 like nothing, this should be illegal. idk i still dont see her as this aesthethic and trend, even though yall say its ok to switch things up.. it just doesnt feel right (coming from a fan since 2019-ish)

@@pj45queen bc ya'll are quick to "hold someone accountable " by hating on them and bashing them. Those things she did were over 10 years ago and she has apologized and educated herself many times. What else is she supposed to do? You hold onto your hatred for someone and call it "holding them accountable" while most of you don't hold the same energy for other artist.
honestly i love the way that she's taken a risk and i wish more pop artists would. this is how music moves forward so we're not stuck in this dream pop/disco era pop music has been stuck in since the beginning of the pandemic. also this the exact reason for hyperpop the vision sophie and a.g cook (among others) had and the work they did (with the help of charli) to pioneer the genre into the mainstream and get these traditional pop artists to start making the switch into it because hyperpop is and has always been the future of pop music.
This may be her last chance to get some attention.
i like the angle you're taking with it. the fan beef has been insane ever since the snippet. im not gonna say charli fans are entirely innocent, they're very bratty, but some of these camila fans are... unhinged. Guys... they're friends, let them be influenced by each other! 😅 any controversy makes them more money anyway
i think a lot of people are too quick to judge the extent of her "authenticity" when all they know of her is the image that a very loud and opinionated subset of the internet perpetuates. i mean most people don't know her beyond havana and senorita. they see her as solely a latin-pop artist simply because that's what she's famous for. she literally grew up in miami, come on, you think she was never exposed to hip hop or club or house music?
very good point that a lot of people are missing. even camila has said she's always been exposed to music like this

i think because of the way she was originally marked which is basically the good girl next door. This does deviate from that image
@@SarynAndersonSarynWasNOTHere honestly i think Camilla is kinda just over the good girl next door image, bc i feel like after a while it would become annoying to act like/ portray yourself as.
truly seems as though shes capitalising off the queer communites love for hyperpop, i hate it when artists do this. shes the type of artist to say some bs like 'did i sht in the mother toilet with this one 🥺?" when promoting it in order to appeal to lgbt audiences lmao
Lol what does that quote even mean
lol what

Well she always has been fruity
Camila's new image/sound seems inauthentic & gives off "orchestrated marketing ploy hatched by managers" vibes.
bingo.
exactly! and I always liked her music, it's just giving fabricated
It’s far to orchestrated to really be enjoyed. It doesn’t help that she’s pretending it’s always been her Miami Latina culture.
She looks incredible. I’m really enjoying her new era
Charli and Sophie mentioned, insta liked the video
I love her new era. interesting and sounds good
You just have to admire her for always following in others' footsteps! A lingering trend follower who lets her superiors take all the risks so she can stick around and pick up the scraps. Queen behaviour! 😍😍👋

Her new era is not it. I think they are trying to do what Dua lipa team is doing unfortunately it’s not working for her. Not every thing will work for everyone. I think she should challenge her Latino music side, she will do great at it.
yea, i could definitely see her growing as artists when she leaned more into her latino genre. but hyperpop? is just so random of her
Y’all hate her regardless, what does she have to lose? This new era is already making more noise than her last. She’s doing the right thing.
@@aimismyname01 I think this is because “Familia” was honestly a mix of English and Spanish. Still her usual pop sound with some Latin influence. If she did a FULL SPANISH album where she sticks with mainly Latin and Reggaeton influences, I strongly believe the album would have a higher chance of blowing up. She needs to pull a Becky G and fully transition into Latin music. Then her career would completely escalate to different heights. Think of Shakira and Karol G. They’re insanely successful. Camila needs to do that
@@alex-uu2hq thing is i dont think Camilla actually wants to do that, like she doesnt want to write a fully spanish album.

I dont care what anyone says i luv this song the verses are very dreamy with those synths and the repetitive chorus is very catchy and fun.

I usually don't listen to her music, but my feelings for her blonde are: 😍😍😍😍😋😋😋😍😍😍😊😊😊😊
Well someone has to be the one person to actually say that they love this song and have actually been obsessed with it. I especially love the slower and reverb version. But yea I understand the criticisms. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion & have their own musical preferences. I watched her interview about the song and upcoming album and I’m very excited to see what comes next.
are we getting a eternal sunshine review ?

Right, like why are we lying? 😂😂

Charli and her are literaly besties. The song ate
For anyone who hasn’t, please listen to Pop 2 by Charli XCX, it is an absolutely amazing album
I like her unhinged era. Go hard camila 🔥
Her hair is just gonna snap off
song of the year cmm
She is being adventurous, not giving a fcuk about anything anymore and just making music she finds fun. Nobody owns a genre , artists should evolve. Her albums are versatile and honestly all of us grow and change. Authenticity isn't a fixed mark. Her playlists have always been diverse and she has been a huge fan of it since years. Moreover her voice fits in perfectly

I love it! She looks so good. 🤍🤍🤍
All I can think about is that scene from hereditary with the clip of camilla’s head out the window
Still no Eternal Sunshine review?
at this point, i think we are not getting it. Or maybe he'll do a triple album review when Tay would release ttpd. Maybe he's planning to review es, cowboy charter, and ttpd all at once.
its more so aligned with carti’s whole lotta red sound, hence the ft. am excited for this era 🤷🏻
crazy that she never mentioned being inspired at all in her recent zane lowe interview. Not saying she HAS to say the word "hyper pop" and mention charli xcx. But throughout the interview it she's making it sound like she's the first to do it.
In a interview she said she was bored with her usual latin pop sound. Wanted to do a complete change. I don’t see a problem with that
She did mention Charli, she said it’s a compliment to be compared to her and how she wants to try a new sound. Y’all are reaching for reasons to hate her.
She should have introduced her new “persona” by soft launching personal Spotify playlists and make blogs where people could actually see the process of change and influence she went through.. because without it it feels gimmicky
yk ngl that would've been so cool plus a trailer for the album (which she did do) and a lot of what she's doing now anyway
Love her blonde ❤
I think she wanna do hyper pop because of her chipmunk voice
I’ll still never forgive her after bullying Normani. Legit holding a knife while shaking her Normani’s hand
yeah no those are theories concocted by outsiders who do not know either camila nor normani
y’all are hungry for sympathy views and stream aren’t u?
It's definitely a left turn. I actually thought she was going to do a Spanish language crossover. Even though she's not as big in the U.S., she has big fans in Latin America and Spain. The new song is ok... let's see how the album goes.
Why the f***k you haven't talk about Eternal Sunshine yet?
Because she’s a home wrecker her career is over
Because it sucks lol

Personally, I think Eternal Sunshine is a great album.
Honestly I love Camila Cabello’s old music! She had a lot of good songs! This new song that just came out took me by surprise. I was not expecting it. I don’t hate the song, but I don’t love it either and I’m hoping once the album is released that there will be some good songs on there.
wtf is she even going for
Relevance
Unpopular opinion but I love her new image and sound 🦋💙
I’ll give her this, she’s not afraid to try different sounds, she’s versatile. I can understand that some people might think she’s ripping off other artists (Charli xcx) or it’s just for shock value but maybe because it was a pretty quick change in her image. The song isn’t bad, it’s a grower for sure, I’m actually curious how the album is gonna sound like
Edit: also, the song doesn’t sound a like a rip off Charli xcx song to me at all, she’s definitely inspired by her and you can hear it but not a rip off
I’ve listened to some hyperpop, I feel like the production is typically more experimental and memorable than what they did with camilas song
I luv it is a vibe ✨✨
i don't mind artistic exploration but this seems like her 87th attempt at clinging onto different styles to stay relevant. she's throwing whatever at the wall and hoping it sticks
Were is the Tyla video and Eternal Sunshine Review ?
The Song is just decent .
Thank you for all your hard work, keep it up.
Lord..... not everyone should be blonde.
Fr it’s just not working for her she looks like a wannabe Britney or something
Or Sabrina carpenter
It throws her skintone off ..... the color is NOT for every Race / Ethnicity or they would all have it . Not everything is meant to be for everyone.
Camila killed it , good song
the "i luv it i luv it i luv it" is a sample from a Rihanna song. idk why the internet loves to hate on Camilla but charli didnt invent hyperpop and she has no claim to it, Rihanna and gucci main are the only ones who have a claim to this song cuz they are sampled, and they were credited and paid so whats the issue?
also camilla has done hyperpop before "find you again" was released 2019.
Why can’t people understand that it’s normal that someone’s sense of style could evolve and change their look? You don’t know what’s going on in her life. I didn’t even know she was my age. Being 26, you start to figure out that life really sucks lol so maybe she felt a more grunge look
The song sounds like what someone who doesn’t listen to hyper pop thinks hyper pop sounds like
Basically to sum up the general consensus around this release: it’s okay but it’s giving poser. Try harder Camilla.
This whole ‘rebrand’ is so forced and cringe

@@Wizofmincraft my guy it’s called hyper pop, not everyone has to like it
Camila has always given me fake and phony, so to hear she is riding a new wave isn’t surprising.
I love her new image and song!
Are you going to review cowboy carter? I dont really care about Camilla's release
well i love what she’s doing
“I luv it” is literally Rebecca Black Friday level bad
I mean this rebrand happened bc she hasn't been relevant for years so she needed to do something but like you said it feels unnatural as for the song it's ok nothing outstanding
CAN PEOPLE CHANGE?! GEEZ We are human and inspired by others… Its natural.
I'm 32 but I know in my heart my 'old timer' card is already active because listening to that mumbling mess got on my nerves 😂
Hey, artists are allowed to reinvent themselves and try new things (look at Beyonce's current era). However, this did come WAY outta left field. I don't know if this will payoff though...
Only time will tell.

This man reviewed camilas song AND NOT ETERNAL SUNSHINE???
People told me I look like camila so I died my hair now she’s blonde COME ON 😭😭😭
LOVE HER THO ❤
popular opinion: her romance album is the best and only dont go yet and maybe bam bam of off the familia were good. i think that album flopped big time. it was also weird how they kinda promoted "live" performances sponsored by tik tok. i think she's best at making songs like in romance (or either i just really miss 2019 and that era). i get it her personality is like chill and lil crazy hot girl summer stuff and generally this kind of vibe kinda sticks with her. i just cant get over the fact how in 2020 till 2022 she was talking about earth and loving and adoring it where now she just switched it up 360 like nothing, this should be illegal. idk i still dont see her as this aesthethic and trend, even though yall say its ok to switch things up.. it just doesnt feel right (coming from a fan since 2019-ish)
She 100 stole the hook from Charli “I got it”
Yeah dude, Charlie invented triplet flows..nobody else can do em
She got Play Boi Carti simping
i think its funny to see one of the most basic pop artists going off with hyperpop out of nowhere😭 i dont even think the song is that bad, people are just shocked
The ending of her first solo song (love incredible) was literally hyperpop and she worked with Sophie. Shes always showed appreciation for it.
The song is good and the new image is working. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I’ve always felt that ppl try too hard to find flaws in Camila.
