  • More than 70 years ago, India and Japan were technically at war. Today, the two countries are described as "natural allies". How did two war-time enemies become allies? The temples of Japan offer some clues. Palki Sharma brings you a ground report.

So long as the civilians don't get into the crooked politics of the past and now, people all 9ver the world can get along well. Also the contemporary Central Government of India must distance themselves from such vague associations because the countries in the contemporary world might assume India is still a puppet of their former colonial master. With such a statement, WION made me feel that India is still not independent in 21st century.
      Sacrificed lives of millions of slave Indian soldiers in the British Army must remembered so as to value the importance of the existing sovereignity of India not to ruin that image of sovereignity by using it as a diplomatic gaffe in bilateral relations between sovereign India and sovereign Japan. If India was never colonized, there wouldn't be any world war. @lets game it in- No, she is right. India during WWII was under British rule. So a lot of Indians fought side by side with the British as allied forces against the axis powers of Japan, Italy and Germany during WWII. Subhash Chandra Bose, the Indian freedom fighter, was one of the exceptions who tried to seek Germany and Japan's help to fight the British in India's struggle for freedom. So, it was move that was radical to what Mahatma Gandhi was proposing.

      I agree. Wrongly talking about History can ruin India's diplomacy with Japan. I may make such blunders not those who speak like experts on world history and politics. If all Indian based world channels start pulling such gaffe in every country at every event, then before 1947AD India was technically at war with almost all countries like France, Russia, Germany, China, Spain, Portugal, many African countries etc.etc.
      Even if the British Indian Army participated in such wars, the Indian republic since India's Independence in 1947AD also known as the sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic of India must not be associated with such colonial technicalities of war. Also the contemporary Central Government of India must distance themselves from such vague associations because the countries in the contemporary world might assume India is still a puppet of their former colonial master. Which such a statement, WION made me feel that India is still not independent in 21st century.
      That said the sacrificed lives of millions of slave Indian soldiers in the British Army must be remembered so as to value/cherish the importance of the existing sovereignty of India not to ruin that image of sovereignty by using it as a diplomatic gaffe in bilateral relations between sovereign India and sovereign Japan. If India was never colonized, there wouldn't be any world war. Indian soldiers in British army were like blind dogs feeding their stomachs biting anyone their master asked them for until after 1942AD due to which the Indian public suffered during those times including one big Jallianwalla Bagh Massacre right after WW I.

Contrary to popular Indian belief both Japan and USA have more socialist programs than India. @@kalgandikota7075 Not needed. Western countries are new concepts build over destroying indigenous cultures. So they have to have to have such ideology else it will be continuation of crusades against the remaining indigenous tribe. India is a continuing civilization of thousands of years. It's that the basis of pluralism of Indian culture and not because Indira Gandhi added it in 1970s. Whether it exist or not did not matter for India because our own culture is something that's pluralistic in nature from millenia. No country can survive addition of Secularism or Socialism if the underlying ideology is not pluralistic. Also Capitalism and Socialism in its purest forms are evil that give rise to dictators of either Stalin, Churchill type or Hitler type. We better avoid both and have concepts and ideas that are Indian and continue to be the great civilizational nation that we are.

    70 years ago, British India was at war with Japan, not India. Indian independence was obtained thanks to Japan helping Subhash Chandra Bose set up Indian National Army in Andaman Islands and supplying it with weapons. Civilisation wise also Japan is close to India too

  • @applesoda6308
    @applesoda6308 Год назад +3

    Japanese don't think India was an enemy during the war. India was not a sovereign nation thus impossible to be at war against Japan. Rather Japanese fought along with some Indians who sought after the independence. Chandra Bose was the leader of the independence army and I believe when Japan took back the Andaman islands from Britain, there he declared the independence of India and Japan supported. The history from the European perspective is not the history of the world.

    The Indian high-speed railway project undertaken by Japan has been seriously delayed. Since the start of construction in 2017, only 10 kilometers of high-speed railway have been built, and the project budget has been seriously inflated. This time India has hurt Japan badly.
