- Exercising my right to film in public at MSD in Palmerston North
Only feelings were hurt in making of this video.
I was excruciating careful not film or point the camera at clients to make them feel uncomfortable, I was not interested in filming any of them and my focus was how Security Staff ( Allied Security ) were acting and reaction to law abiding citizen scrutinizing there government also there failure to wear required badges, threatening violence, age discrimination, and who knows what else may have shown up.
It was sad to to see how under trained staff were as I believe they were acting out of ignorance of the law, perhaps proper training and standards will be applied.
The Palmerston North feelings police attended, with there usual misconduct and unlawful orders.
Also threatened to be beaten up
Only in New Zealand do you get a gang member complaining to the police that someone is intimidating them with a camera .

The first security guard was actually a nice chap. You Could have had a little bit of dialogue with him. kind of felt bad he seemed respectful.

This shows NZ police don't like cameras because they don't like transparency. They don't want to ID because they don't like accountability. Currently it's the same the world over.
But the NZ Police have no choice, its legal to record in public. So are they being held accountable, are you following up with a complaint about not providing their details?

Palmerston North Police are obviously trained to not give their identification. I have seen them on occasion even cover their QID numbers, so that you can't even request their name under the OIA. And given they all wear masks now, it is actually even more important for them to identify themselves. When they are on the road, are they not required to wear the high viz short sleeve reflector vests during the day, & the long sleeved high viz reflector jackets at night?
Why can’t the ordinary citizens realise that if they don’t have someone stand up for their rights, they will very soon run out of rights.
That was epic! To why there's that much security guards on that premises is anyone's guess and to why their boss is standing with them. And the Police, well i don't know why they just keep wasting tax payers $$$ and making their presence known for nothing.

In response to the ashburton shooting and killing of two staff. After the fact it's just coniued because so many unskilled people are employed to do it now it would cost votes to stop it. Last time I went into one of thes eplaces there was more gaurds than workers.

I can't believe what my Tax Dollars employ. Departments upon Departments of people who look like they used to be in the system, now parading as guardians of the system. and displaying the intimidating behaviour that got them there in the first place.

I’m a big fan of these audits however I would have liked to see a bit more banter with the officers to see what they would do and if they would have recommended things within the law. While I am far from a police sympathiser I think you were a bit aggressive with them from the get go. You could have said “I am filming and I don’t answer any questions” then proceeded to ignore them. Also you have a verbal threat captured on camera from the wannabe thug. Wish someone would do these in Auckland.
Most police seem to say the same thing relatively speaking after watching all of this persons footage on his channel. It's no wonder he wants nothing to do with them. Any kind of banter with the police gives them a verbal bullet to use against you.
@Simbakat007 there are many approaches, I will engage when I think its appropriate, I don't like to let anyone dominate the conversation, they were trying to question me, no one should ever let that happen.

this is not how you audit, you can at least tell the security guard that your just filming around, any personal questions don't answer. The way you do it is strange. Not a good example of promoting your right to film. Check out auditing Britain, he is actually good at it. auditors ( the good ones, which is most) have a saying with rights comes responsibilities and one of those responsibilities is to not be a dick.

1. it is perfectly legal to video anyone outside MSD or anywhere in a public place, (there are a couple of exceptions) the highest courts in the land have said so. (get educated)
2. do tell what is suspicious about this legal activity???

Could I suggest that you check out the style of interactions that long Island audit has with police , the public and public service . I think that if you can pick up some of his approach your videos would be much more educational and interesting if either of those are goals you have for your channel. Just a thought .

first security guy is new can tell by his COA i think he handled it fine, second woman cant even tuck her dam top in and using creep/age to discriminate disgusting she honestly should be fired from MSD im shocked that blonde girl with no COA displaying wasn't to my knowledge fired we havent had a newsletter or anything issued regarding COAs i remember my old manager at allied slamming me for everything he could get me for like having my COA in my pocket and now look at the state of them, disgusting and i work for this company brings shame upon the rest of us.
