Welcome to This Life We Live ( This 1 Life We Live ) formerly the WTFarm Girl channel.
Subscribe and follow along as we build our DREAM HOME after 10 long years of saving and waiting! It's a barndominium house plan with a shed style roof. It's a barndominium hybrid, so it's stick-built and on a basement because here in Michigan we get a LOT of tornadoes!
We'd LOVE to build it fully from the ground up, but sadly our local township only allowed us TWO YEARS to fully complete our home, so it's a race against time to try to get everything done BOTH with professional help AND on our own!
Building half of it on our own allows us a MASSIVE savings with our budget and makes this unique home design actually affordable!
We started with a low cost floor plan, to make this an affordable barndominium and learned how to save money on a house build.
We have some fantastic ways to save money on a new house and easy DIY home design tips!
This is going to be the coolest house on RUclips by the time it's complete!
If you have suggestions or ideas, we'd love to hear them!

Good job it looks like you're getting the auto steer figured out. You might consider contacting Sietsema Farm Feeds in Howard City. They can probably line you up with partially composted turkey manure. They can deliver it to a spot to spread it later on. That would give it time to compost more. I used it on my sandy lawn, and it really helped. The advantage of Dairy Dew is it's like spreading dirt. I spread the turkey compost late in the fall, because it really stinks, and it helps break it down over the winter. It's high in phosphorus, so you can't use it to often.

That's good to know, thankyou! I had contacted farms last year with no luck so this is very helpful. My christmas trees are deficient in phosphorus too, so maybe I can spread it on them as well . . .

Your music overwhelmed your voice at start up. Since you are not planting row crops and have small fields there is little use for Auto Steer.
Do not let your dog jump from the Tractor Cab. They often break their legs since they are not used to it. Your Hay Crop is looking good.

If you are not doing row crops set the wheels out wide going to fast on steep slopes and hitting a hole will tip a tractor slow down on hillsides

I don't like hills either when I'm operating my tractor. I came close to tipping my TYM over two videos ago. Luckily when the camera fell off the dash it hit the floor before it hit the glass door. I feel like I got lucky on that deal.

Thanks for the video Suzanne, do you have to rent the grain cart from your local elevator? Id definitely prefer to have a tractor with a cab, it's that more safety than a open cab 🚜🇺🇲

Crazy question for you. Have you ever thought about getting chickens in chicken tractors to eat the grass and fertilize by your Christmas trees? I mean they would eat the trees so you could only go beside the trees but it would add fertilizer to the ground by the trees as well as cut the grass and put some chicken in your freezer for yourselves.

we are trying this with geese they eat more grass then chickens.

    • @This1LifeWeLive
      @This1LifeWeLive  3 месяца назад

yes, as Erik mentioned we are using geese which eat ONLY grass and also do add meat to the freezer. But I have toyed with the idea of doing chickens too. I had tried to talk another farm into grazing their chickens here, but they didn't like the idea :(

@@This1LifeWeLive Yeah I knew about the geese and the few new chickens your using, I was just wondering if you had thought about using alot of chickens to get the job done but if the geese are getting the job done then that is all that matters in the end.

Perhaps the recent solar storm affected the satellite GPS system and that's why it dropped out in the middle of the field.

RTK has always been a struggle anyplace but the front property. If I remember correctly, I could run RTK in the rear field, and this field was WAAS system. It's just how systems work, I've talked to people who have lawn mowing robots tht ahve the same issue.
