  • Coracle fishing in Carmarthen. A tradition, centuries old is slowly dying. The video has been nominated for best documentary in the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival 2020. On Saturday 25th April 2020 Snowy Hopkins sadly died. The video is dedicated to his memory. Snowy R.I.P.

    Wonderful, evocative and important record of coracle fishing on the river Towy. A really enjoyable film.

    I thoroughly enjoyed watching this documentary.
    I was particularly moved by the lovely coraclemen song and the black and white photos at the end, that I am in the process making a coracle.

    What a wonderful documentary and a beautiful piece of Social History as well. Really enjoyed watching the making of a coracle, truly fascinating. Well done to everyone involved with the making of this important film and thank you for sharing it Seimon :-)

    Wonderful ... so important to keep these traditions alive and passed down for the heritage of Wales and it’s Coraclemen. That was a heart warming film 🙂

    Many years ago my English teacher had been reading a science fiction book late in the evening. It was a hot night and she decided to go for a walk down by the river to cool down and clear her head. Walking towards her were these huge beetles. I am not sure how she reacted but she was very frightened until became apparent that the beetles were in fact coracle men returning home from their fishing on the Towy.
