Hairmetallurgist absolutely 100% agree! Wouldn’t you just love to sit and chat with her one on one for hours on end? What a remarkable experience that would be
McKay 5 oh hell yes. Do you know what else would be awesome would be to attend an acting masterclass with her, which some really lucky people in the past at the Stella Adler Studio got to do.
Picard yes, and so was Janeway in certain ways, although I think she made some questionable decisions as a captain. Particularly her way of sticking to her principles to an extreme at the expense of getting her crew out of the delta quadrant. I think out of all of them, I'd rather serve under Benjamin Sisko.

Wow what a woman, actress and human being. I always enjoyed Captain Janeway and I love Kate Mulgrew's performance. She gave her life, dignity, and an empowered presence that was duly needed at the time, and is now in the future! Kate is remarkable, her accomplishments speak volumes in her advice and experience and the wisdom she imparts. All I can say is, as always, Bravo!!!
Matt Knowles what does JR know she was only included in Voyager due to casting couch and aiming at a certain limited demographic. By the time Voyager came out it wasn’t about that at all, it was about more important things.
I almost thought that it was Admiral Janeway who Jean-Luc speaks to in his new trailer. If only you could have seen the disappointment on my face when I realized that they missed out on a big opportunity there.
27:00 Guys, seriously, I have just burst out crying. I am so glad that Kate can get to know how people love her and how they appreciate her lifework. She is indeed an enormously talented actress and a very kind person. I just adore her!
truly not just a first woman captain, but an eloquent and passionate spokeswoman not just for Star Trek, but for the Sci Fi genre as a whole. Quite right about fantasy and sci fi being different genres, thank you for taking note of that. Katelyn Schooley Fear serves a purpose so REGULARLY pull it BACK TO YOUR SIDE as your PARTNER, NOT AS YOUR LEADER!!! First clue: it always wants to lead so diligently keep it in check, and start to realize you can do it. Whatever ‘it’ is. BLESSINGS🙏🏻

Thank you for uploading this!! I could listen to her all day. What an incredibly passionate and SMART person, what a wonderful display of vocabulary and tangible zeal for literacy, life, science, and equality! 🥰🥰♥️
Who knows what the possibilities are with the Picard show, if that really gets attention then it can become a very big hit. Remember how "The Big Bang Theory" started? But it grew, and it even drew in celebrities. So getting an Admiral Janeway and maybe even a Prophet Sisko would be AWESOME .
Voyager is my favorite Star Trek series. Kes is my favorite character. I'm really hoping that Picard reinvigorates the original spark of the first 5 series. Giving us a surge of new content. Hopefully they'll finally work on that "Captains" movie with all five captains. I think Brent Spiner wrote a script for it? Watch too many fan videos to remember lol 😅
Love Kate MulGrew and Capt Janeway was my fav capt. As much as love TGN too. I really hope we see admiral Janeway at some point in Star Trek Picard. I do agree that voyager should got their own movie.
Had to shake my head at the librarians question, it was good and Kate gave a detailed answer but when she turned the same question back on the librarian she couldn’t really answer herself 🤣 Then when questioned about the book she did manage to come up with she was vague too lol. Be prepared. Kate is obviously hugely read and intelligent and I dare say doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Great video.
When she said she was going to be in the show it Picard I scream and ran upstairs to my dad. I look at him and said kate mulgrew is going to do the show!!!! I'm very excited for this.
I though she said she still waiting for the call still. But yes I’d love see her in new Picard series. Though I’ll never able see it cuz I’m in Canada. Unless it comes Netflix.
She is a dynamo! Love ya Kate, then and now! (I’ve just stated rewatching Voyager. Like my favorite books, they can be read over and over, like spending time with old friends).
I think if I was in the audience after hearing most of what this lady had to say I would have thrown away my original question and asked her if she was free for drinks later.
Steven Segal is fun to watch because you can't help but think "is this guy really as slow as he's eluding to by how he's speaking and answering these intereview questions"? Kate Mulgrew however is the exact opposite: Smart, educated, thankful, willing, and witty! I don't know what it is like to be an actor but as a fan (Janeway is my favorite captain and Kate Mulgrew did such a wonderful job playing her) there is nothing more awesome than the actor being just as smart, witty and talented in real life as the character they portray onset. The icing on the cake is when the actor is willing to give back to their fan base. Kate was always noted as being one who showed up on time and was thankful to have such a wonderful job.
Kate is a wonderful person, she's insightful, she's incredibly smart, and with that, I loved her as Captain Janeway. I've not seen her much since her very brief role on ST Nemesis. I may have to check out Orange is The New Black. Whatever role she plays, I'll always remember her as Captain Kathryn Janeway! Captain of the U.S.S. Voyager! I hope to see her on Star Trek Picard. I wish Kate all the best. I'd have a shot of Whiskey with her anytime! Thanks for posting this.
She reminds me so much of a female Shatner-type that I've always longed to see them on screen together as Captains. You can she is dramatic to her very core and extremely intelligent. Her portrayal as Janeway was so under-rated and so many of my fav. episodes were centered around her. Voyager had the strong female character without banging you on the head with in your face feminist rhetoric. She was the boss and that was that...it didn't matter what gender she was. And she led a ship really and truly "where no one had gone before" which perhaps embodied the most Star Trek themed series since the original one. Leadership, science, unity and exploration. That's Trek to me.
I agree , her acting was superb and most of the times superior to any other captain. And yeah, Im happy that back then the whole crazy feminazi agenda was not that mainstream (you know woman good, men evil...) and that's why I never in those seven years cared that she was a woman or a man, she was just a fine captain who cared deeply for her crew.
Production began in '94 and it premiered in '95 - those are mid 90s, and it ended in '01. That said, the design of the ship and the sets look more 2000-ish than 1994. Everything was still flannel and big hair in '94.
I have said that before. Shatner knows he is the patriarch of Star trek and it is never a question, even Stewart knows this. Mulgrew is without question the Matriarch and she can go toe to toe with shatner just ask her, lol

And the premise would have allowed it. Voyager could have easily spent 10 years in the D Quadrant and DS9? It's a space station(!) where everyone comes and goes. Kira took over, a few new people, let Ezri Dax shine more than just one season.... The final episode offered such an open field of new directions. ... Both ended too soon while these days shows easily get their seasons 11, 12, 13, 14 ... on and on and on ... long after they had become repetitive in ideas... Had they only continued longer ....
