Love this Truck. I searched and searched for a bell housing like that has. I have a fresh 300 I like to put into my 65 F250 4x4. Not sure what all trucks to look for that had it.

Are you looking for a specific trans or any manual? The 300 shares the small block pattern so any truck that had an I6, a 302, or a 351W will have the correct bellhousing pattern. In my opinion a small block zf5 would be the best choice. The Mazda M5OD wasnt bad but wasnt a good choice for heavy frequent towing from what I understand, and the NP435 is bulletproof, just sucks that it doesnt have an overdrive. Good luck searching!

@@NorthwoodsNoise Thanks, I have a couple bell housings but none with the mounting ears. Also the cast iron timing cover for the front mount.

Personally The Turbo Kit (because it has low compression) - It would have V8 Power under boost, and 6cyl economy at cruise. - I would make sure the oak is dry 2 years, then paint with a brush or industrial sprayer (like weed sprayer) several coats used oil...FYI loosen your bolts holding the wood down prior to painting or the wood will snap the bolts upon expansion (soaking up the oil - Ask me how I know!)....I have several trailers and a fence painted with used oil....The one trailer has been stored outside for 50 years....wood is still good (also rough cut oak)

Turbo would be awesome if I can afford it lol. We'll see how things go in the future. Good advice on the wood, thanks. Its definitely dry enough as is. I'm thinking I'll probably lay it out, pre drill all the holes, then soak it all several times off the truck before securing it for good.
