That;s different than AI . And algorithmic trading works only if fine tunned so it;s still depending on the human factor, as market conditions change constantly.. This does not yet mean that A.I , will work by itslef but could become a tool in any trader;s toolbox.

True. Having AI trade on our behalf will mean trades and transactions will happen autonomously and so fast that £1 billion can be £0 in a matter of seconds rather than in months when humans themselves are dealing.
Basically, AI is like a nuclear bomb compared to using a knife to ruin other people's lives... much faster and more devasting when it goes terribly wrong.
Humans are well known for being reckless and selfish ever since we invented early forms of trading and then currencies. Today is no different, except being capable to damage other lives much faster and much worse. Humans are flawed, doesn't matter how perfect AI will become.
Let's get another thing straight. Dropping a rock off the bridge isn't what killed the driver, it's gravity, just like it always has been.
My brother in Christ…AI / algorithms / quants have been running trading on financial markets for decades lol. This would be like a segment in 2024 worrying about whether autopilot should fly planes.

It is about understanding the difference between algorithm trading and the buzz around gen. AI based chatbot for trading. Here the former has been used for few decades and is more interpretable than the latter as of now which will improve. Basically its an evolution than a revolution.

I think if AI was able to crack any code or decrypt pretty much anything, then this would set us back to using mechanical devices. I mean everything sensitive has to be under told fashioned lock and key. This is where I don't like the idea of a complete smart home.
So, only Europe and the US are the international community creating AI rules! Everyone else should follow these rules otherwise they will get sanctioned.. Tech is now everywhere so if rules need to be applied to everyone, every country in the world should be consulted.
Imagine create an app in VP and connect that app with your AI hand to function. That would be a very good mix-up

It is a serious risk that, at some point, the AI trading bots decide to intentionally short everything down 99%, then rebuy everything for 1% of the price. If the AIs could syndicate a lot of money, it is possible. Brrrr....!

The realisation that the big brother direction has no potential for the progression of intelligence, the quality of creativity always falls when coupled with fear.
The internet has already been consumed by intelligence therefore new data could be created if we change our perspective.
Banks and Financial Institutions used algorithms without Deep Learning technology. But with Deep Learning will make trading invisible. Very scary for retail traders who has no financial power to purchase or build this Deep Learning technology.

Very interesting points mentioned during the interview. I suppose that when you want to descover something, especially in technology and science, it is better to make mistakes at the begining and create laws putting the mistakes as core. I think it is better to be more careful when it comes to AI, because it may cause some issues in societies, because some people and specialists which spent their lives studing a specific subject might loose their jobs to AI. This issues might create unstable balance in job market.

Answer, no. Because trading is a zero-sum game and there's so much market manipulation. It doesn't matter what kind of trading bot it is, eventually you will lose everything.
Humans make mistakes in financial decisions & trading, we just need to ensure that the AI makes fewer mistakes than humans on average. We should not expect perfection from our AI's, and if more decisions are made by AI's we would expect to see more mistakes from them (but less than we would have got if all decisions were made by humans).
The goal of financial markets was to create wealth and prosperity, so companies could use money to create products. This inturn should have lead to better quality of life for humans. AI needs to be seriously regulated. It can really cause devastating situations, especially in financial markets. However, nothing much will happen until people just start withdrawing from the markets, and push wealth to tangible assets.Why wait for a market breakdown? History proves that humans are greedy !! AI companies should be taxed much higher in order to curb disparity, other than the ones that are involved in healthcare and food production !!

I’d like to see more of her. She’s easy to listen to, fun, informative, has great illustrations which make her points easy to understand. Although she may seem bit arrogant. If anything stalls her career, it’s going to be people perceiving arrogance.

i don't mind Ai but as been working in client service for over 20 years i can tell you one thing and it's pretty simple, i can answer your issue way faster than Ai any day reason= i'm human and it's easier to listen to someone's issue and figure it out faster than any computer can, compluters aren't human and will never be, if you know what i mean than it simple, i can hear your voice and understand, anyway good luck with Ai and AGI and whatever is next, i'm still human, i will pee on the wifi network and it will be done, if i pee on your leg will you be done

So the only way to earn money in future ai world is by trading using ai
