    Hi Vikas, I really liked you Cloud Series Videos. Excellent Presentations and your way of explaining is just great.
    People with traditional deployment experience have so much trouble in shifting towards virtualized solutions, and in my view the major hindrance is 'lack of concepts' and 'the understanding about why virtualization and NFVi + SDN landscape is so beneficial for service providers'.
    The way you explained and linked the traditional and virtualized worlds is very nice and it clears a lot of doubts.
    Keep up the good work. Best Wishes. Arun Arora!!

    Its a nice attempt to put things simply. Suitable references would help at places like when you say that Telco cloud utilization is 85% (I think, world is yet to put a number to it :). I'll be going thru the other linked sessions from you and get back in case of any questions.

    Hello sir,
    Great video once again. I have a question. You described how cloud network makes it easy to scale up/down the network as per the demand which is something which was not possible in the traditional networks. It seemed like you implied that there is no planning required for capacity management. I don't understand this because even in cloud networks, to scale up you require the hardware and if it's not available how can it scale up. Therefore, it too requires some planning beforehand. Please clarify.

    • @TelecomTutorialinfo
      @TelecomTutorialinfo  5 лет назад +1

      Vishal , We need to plan it well & need ample capacities for scaling up & Shifting the traffic . With Cloud we get many benefit which makes this Operationally very easy & Saves hardware .i.e. a) With NFV , You can Re-use Generic hardware capacity for any Node ( You need not to maintain redundant hardware specific to Node ) .. Any COTS hardware can be made SGSN , PCRF etc.. This saved Cost and Reserve Hardware to be kept b) All this happens with Automation which saves lot of time .. Hope this clarifies

    Succinctly explained, but few things unrevealed.
    Name is virtual but physical hardware and software is required of same or more capacity and cost.
    Centralized cloud server increase latency which directly impact user DL/UL throughput thus impacting UX.
    In mobile network we already have pooling concept to cater high utilization at peak hours so why cloud?
    And many more ....

  • @kwcccc
    @kwcccc 4 года назад +1

    In your first example in which the legacy GGSN got congested hopelessly - but the cloud solution can expand the capacity easily & flexibly, I'm still stuck with a question : Yes the cloud solution can re-allocate resources flexibly depending where in the network is becoming a hotspot, this "flexibility" I can understand as a major benefit from cloud, however the point of that the cloud can add in new "capacity" easily doesn't sound very logical --- to have those capacity you have to have adequate HW anyway in the cloud, and if the legacy GGSN solution also have that much HW, congestion wouldn't be a problem either, so I don't get it why we say the cloud solution is more helpful on "Capacity"? (if it's a personal or small business -- if they use AWS then yes I see the point of fast capacity expansion using the HW that they don't really own but just in the cloud of AWS, but for Telco it doesn't look like we can easily just use AWS cloud as our network --- we have to own those HW anyhow therefore the capacity concern would be the same for both legacy and cloud solutions essentially)

      For on premises hardware , it will be allocated completely to the traffic , even if there is high traffic or low ,so there is resource wastage.
      Thats not the case in case of cloud , when traffic is high it will scale up and when low it will scale down

    What is prerequisites to learn SDN,NFV

    • @TelecomTutorialinfo
      @TelecomTutorialinfo  5 лет назад +2

      SDN .. You need to learn basic IP based Switch Routing on Cisco / Juniper / ALU Nodes as 1st Step , Then you can take deep dive on SDN . Try learning Generic & Open SDN controllers : OpenContrail , OpenDaylight , Floodlight etc..Then jump off to Certifications + SDN Products by key OEMs - Cisco (ACI) , Juniper (Contrail) , ALU / Nokia (Nuage) etc..
      NFV ... Start with Cloud Computing , then virtualization , then ETSI NFV Specs ( www.etsi.org/technologies/689-network-functions-virtualisation )
