You're doing an absolutely fine job. You're not making any of the silly common mistakes people make. Online detailers only get mad as they self compete with each other over who's the most meticulous and spends the most on the gear. They are just mad, that others don't invest their life savings and 6 hours cleaning a car with Ph balanced mineral water.

I'm not a professional detailer either, but I've learned from professional videos that when scrubbing with the microfibre wash mitt, we shouldn't make circular movements, but rather horizontal and vertical ones. Great job btw!
Hi liking your vids all about the MX5.. I’m in the UK just got my RF in black been on order since may . Dreading washing it as I know black is perhaps the worst colour to keep clean. Don’t want to see any swirls like you mention thinking of doing the same as you have jet wash snow foam, then likely whip over with the mitt.. it isn’t ceramic coated as yet the dealer put on a diamond bright product, which suppose to lasts for a year. It is very very shiny.. I also have got a blower like yours. did enjoy your video on RF or soft top. I take on board everything you say I don’t mind the extra bit of noise but the safety issue and being able to use it all year round was the winner for me and also in my opinion, it certainly does look better. The lines are beautiful on it. thanks Mike any more professional tips on the MX5 most appreciated.
Thanks so much for watching and your comment. I know exactly how you feel, I felt exactly the same when I first got my car. I had mine ceramic coated and the very next time I washed it, swirled it. Felt awful. The good news is with a good spray wax (I can't recommend that highly enough, alongside a ceramic coating!) and time you'll feel less anxious about it. I know I did. Now I just try to focus on enjoying the car and 99% of the time I can without worrying about the minor swirls I pick up. More videos to come!
Thanks for your reply .. not sure what your weather is like but in the UK it can be raining even in our summer .. looking underneath the car as its new looks as nice as the top of it 😂😂was wondering about under sealing it . Been doing some research on it different products. Last different length of time dealer is saying shouldn’t worry about it. What’s your thoughts?
I know salted roads can be an issue in the UK right? We don’t have that issue here so I don’t have any advice sorry - but if you’ll be driving it through winter that might be a good idea?
Once a year, for my birthday, my wife has started a tradition of having my 2021 MX-5 professionally detailed. Otherwise, I will spend 3 minutes at the local car wash, spraying the car down and then drive it home to finish drying it [a few blocks away] because I'm lazy! Oh yeah, it is the same perfect color as yours.
