Your comment reminded me of another continuous shot award winning classic I hadn’t watched for a while: ruclips.net/video/ZWmrfgj0MZI/видео.htmlsi=zmHa7aqHV2DXeYEK
Thom Yorke has spoken directly to my soul for decades. I think he’s one of the most talented humans to ever come from the UK or planet earth. The intensity in which he plays is just on another planet.
maskei Alright, but still was a dumbass saying that the guy must have a faulty brain and not recognizing how hard that song is to play and sing at the same time..
Dude playing guitar and singing like he may never play guitar or sing again. I can confirm he’s good at the guitar. And the singing. Should probably start a band. 12/10
after hours of watching stuff around, i'm coming back to this video, and again, after thousands of videos, more than a decade on websites, i can proudly say that this clip is the best video on the whole internet. glorious.
Discovered this guy thanks to my mum and dad's great varied taste in music. All his stuff from over the years is awesome although I'm not overly keen on the v/early Radiohead material 👌 (Update) Thom inspired me to pick the guitar up again after 7yrs and i have to say that im 8 months back in and really enjoying it 😊
Are you kidding me? A) this is form Thom's SOLO material, and B) Radiohead existed for like FIFTEEN YEARS before Thom released The Eraser. Where the fuck have you been?
@@SirPhilMcCrackinVonBeggingtonWell when it came out I think it was around 2006, so I was around 15 which isn't an uncommon time to be discovering new kinds of music. I just wasn't exposed to this music growing up really, was just how the dice were rolled. And a friend showed me this song and I discovered my favorite band of all time. Happy days 😀
I’m biased but for me this is the greatest jools performance and that’s saying something. There’s so many iconic ones. This guy fucks up the lyrics and it almost makes it better. The rawest.
And then right after the Red Chili Peppers perform Snow (Hey Oh). It's so mind blowing knowing that John Frusciante and Thom Yorke were in the same room!
Fernanda Vira not that secretly in fact - John covered Lucky in his solo acoustic performances, and Thom stated that the technique he uses in Reckoner was inspired by being to RHCP gig
to be honest the rhcp are like crowd pleasing lowest common denominator pleasing crap. i was sort of disheartened to hear thom group up with flee or whoever that guy is to be honest and surprise surprise atoms for peace was the worst thom yorke effort by far. personally i wanna hear radiohead remake pablo honey.
@@deanfowles3707 I don't really like RHCP but Flea is a legend. Way more innovative than Colin. Took Radiohead 10 years to write an interesting bass line.
jesus christ this is so good, what a fucking exemplary demonstration of control over your voice, thom yorke is my favourite half man half goat ever, mr tumnus never sang god loves his children, that fraud with his panpipes, actually the more i think of it the more i hate jk rowling for writing land of the narnia, that fucking lion with the ring and the snow woman. bollocks to it

would love to know where he nicked that weird guitar tuning from ? A up to B and G down to F. In my 20 years of playing guitar never heard of that tuning anywhere.
This is so insanely good. Just as the Henry Rollins version. This is a tricky piece to play and sing but that is irrelevant compared to the emotion and the musical depth. Not to mention how original it is.
This was one continuous camera shot. Big ups to the BBC, incredible production value.
someone won an award for the camera work if I'm not mistaken
@@OK-hl6qd For this single performance? Or just in general
I was just thinking the camera and lighting here is excellent. Also when Thom did ingenue on Jonathan Ross.

I hear that! He grabbed me at the ripe old age of 16 when Pablo Honey first dropped, and he's held my top spot ever since.
The last time Thom had a haircut.
It's almost unbelievable how well this comment aged.
@@kyleferstill pretty well aged
i can't believe he's just a human being like all of us.
Kurorin wat u talkng about bro? He is openly just a Homesick alien.
He is so much in the zone in this performance, it gives me goose bumps.
100%!
I would love him to a solo album like this: His angelic voice, an acoustic guitar, and a reverby mic.
Do you know The Eraser?
Robin Robnist A solo Acoustic guitar, like Nick Drake's Pink Moon. Not the eraser.
You need to find his piano tracks they compiled together-it’s a mini lp of intensity and depth. Brilliant. I’ll find the link later.
Look up “Thom Yorke from the basement” it’s 4 songs and it’s absolutely riveting.
100% agree
one guitar, one song, one melody, one interpreter, about five brains to coordinate this insane interpretation.
so damn true.... was thinking the same thing. How can all this be in the same brain(s).... and all without a flaw!
Your brain must be faulty if it can't process one vocal and one guitar track.
maskei It's not process dumbass, he said coordinate
Eduardo Cunha Everything you do or think is a process your brain goes through. Coordinating hand movement while singing is processing said action.
maskei Alright, but still was a dumbass saying that the guy must have a faulty brain and not recognizing how hard that song is to play and sing at the same time..
Besides his angelic voice, the guitar playing is really impressive
yeah, he's God, he can do that.
The song has a whole new life on acoustic.
its also a whole new life for the acoustic guitar
This dude has came up with some of the best music!
1:41 Angelic Thom Yorke coming back to save the Universe, complete with heavenly background lighting making a halo around his head. 😅
Yeess!!!
Fantastic visual production
Yeah the camera work is impressive
This is, hypnotizing. Pure mastery.

Surely to FUCK this has to go down in history as one of the best performances EVER!!!!??
Get's my vote.
Brilliant performance from one of the most talented musicians of this generation. As intense and as deep as it gets. Beautiful...
This is the best vocal performance I’ve heard from him
This is beyond talent
Beyond music.
Such otherworldly feelings. 🖤

Could not agree more, this performance is legendary, Thome Yorke is a genius, of that there is no doubt. love him
it is a marvel indeed
Watch Siegfried's Funeral March in Tokyo by Tennstedt.
What idiot disliked this video? This still remains one of the best performances I've ever seen
As of today 9 heartless bodies disliked this beautiful piece of art. They must be zombies...

wow!!!!!!!! insane interpretation!!!!!! The one Thom
Absolutely fantastic quality! Thanks, man!
Can’t stop watching! this is utterly stunning! I love you Thom Yorke! I’m 61 and I’ve just found you! I did always loved Radiohead’s “Creep”

There are artists that inspire to just pick up the guitar and start singing. Then there is Thom Yorke, who makes you wonder: why bother?
I think this is hard song , sing with this rythem

it is better than any version

was the lyrics mesesd up normally the lyrics start with time is running out for us anyways its great

50fps? that's odd
In America, we film in 24 fps for movies, 30 for news and sports, and 60 for true slow motion or some TV programs. Europe does 25 fps and 50 fps !
