THANK YOU
Soon fawud fi a interview Jaii, mi just a gwaan put in the work. Memba Ramo Donn did post da comment ya. Big up !!!
A look out
Jaifrais, keep these interviews coming bad bro. Dem get better with each one posted and you here to take over💯💯 Who agrees?
Soca is definitely a genre that the upper class participates in the Caribbean, to participate in carnival culture isn't cheap, the production of the shows are elite.
Carnival or “playing mas” is upper class but the actual music is the everyday mans music in the rest of the Caribbean bro it’s only Jamaica where soca is uppity . Trust me I travel up and down the islands
Quality content, rate your reasoning style, honest and straight to di point, no itchin, Respek
You're doing well, keep up the work. Big up Mac
He proved the point early in the interview 23 and didn’t listen to Beenie man growing up then that’s y dancehall sound dead notn to relate to the essence of dancehall is not in this new generation
Dancehall industry has no managers/investors only romeich n Corey Todd
Sean Paul had Atlantic n vp records every artist from Jamaica that “crossed over” had major label backing
Exactly fam lol smh
💯💯💯
Without a doubt
This makes sense
These artiste nowadays no have no image and only a Pree bad man thing…. So no label nah go wah associated with that
Mac call Jaii old head 😭
Man dem a literally 3 years apart
Then again kartel a 46 and Buju a 49
"The numbers naa reflect" biggest facts from Jaii.
Love The Consistency 👍🏻
Jay you are doing a great Job, I like how you keep it real
Big up J
This guy’s analogies are hilarious from the chubby,to the cross over (Winnie Harlow), pasta and cement n block 😂😂😂😂😂
Gwaan put in the wrk bro
These new artists and producers don't like constructive criticism, that's why they aren't making "real" money or making a name in music. Here today gone tomorrow. It's like they are living in a dream world.
Got too much criticism. Utes r learning n all won't make it on top
@@prezidon4040 Check the meaning of "CONSTRUCTIVE " criticism.
@@wehavewhatyouwantentertain7337 here today gone tomo is wat?? Idk
The more I see these young people true personalities through these lens the more I realize how far they are drifting from reality. The comfort and satisfaction they develop from views, likes and shares is beyond me..
True words Mrs.Barrett
You can't tell people what "reality" is suppose to be for them, they're making money off those "views, likes and shares" and that's why they are so comfortable with it, you think if them did bruk and hungry dem woulda be as comfortable as they are saying this type of shit? Not everybody has to be a Shaggy or a Sean Paul, some people just want to make enough money to be happy and that's it, I don't even know why people are competing to do with the people before us did, just let them have it
@@Reemdamenace hey we could go back and forth with this and based on your views we won’t see “eye to eye” on this and that’s fine.. These are my opinions and reality is reality I guess that’s why you have so many people changing genders because we are keep confusing what’s real from what’s fake.. in my statement I never said their achievements are not merited I spoke on the influence of the media and how invested the society has become in it.. He made a statement that “the sound of the music doesn’t matter, it’s the traction that it picks up (not exact words)” That means as long as u sharing the music that’s what they care about. Money might be the greatest value for you n some others but some people don’t feel that way.. and that’s why everything they create will be temporary, it will lack substance and longevity.. And just because someone has money doesn’t mean they are happy or comfortable..
Deandra well said......Man dem put a beat together to man voice pan it ina dem bedroom it play on Tictoc, youtube all of a sudden dem a dah biggest producer or artist........
@@deandrajohnson-barrett1364 I don't totally disagree with your point, but one of the main things I have a problem with is because most people tend to speak about "music not crossing over" or "not doing what this person did" and things of that nature, but I feel like that should not be the case, because times change, it's simply just not as easy to do what shaggy, Sean Paul, Elephant Man, ect did back when they got the shine, as this yute said, it's not a phone call away, I don't know if that's necessarily the point you were trying to get at, but that's usually the case with people who say things about the likes and all that
‘Dancehall nuh need no strength’
love how Jai handled this interview......8
There’s a frightening trend with all of these young artists and producers you’re interviewing. You are hitting them with big facts about the decline of dancehall’s presence in the world, and dem can’t defend or have a solid debate with you. If dem can’t do that, how dem a go bring back dancehall to glory days?
Open yuh mind jai the dawg right soca is very popular internationally and carnival is a big thing
Dancehall biggest problem is promotion as the man said we're not spending on promotion
Me see the new intro eno
Up college man!
Wish the interview did longer
Jaii no jokes some a them reasoning with specific people can be longer than 40 mins
They want u to pay them to open now !!!! Cuz as u know I work and I’m creative but when ppl start say 5/10k to open I don’t like that

Seems like our new hot producers just a freestyle them way through.. dem nuh seem to know much of the history of our culture and music or have a VISION working with
Shake me hand deh🤝
Check out dunwells interview on ER. He said the same thing
Cause most of them never studied the craft of producing. They stumble into production and just ah wing it
And them dnt take teaching fr who come before dem say the a ood head
@@kemarg5149 facts
Bro mi cyaa believe seh di yute a think bout spending money fi put songs pon billboard wen Jaii mention sehbdi song dem naah chart billboard...Bro di numbers should do it organically due to di authenticity and quality of the music.
lol ma 23 n me listen old skl 80s n 90s dancehall songs...
Club meca need fi make u a ambassador cause every podcast I hear that name gonna visit them month end see what them about
Big up mac every time
Mi life ah Florida and I never hear skilli on a American radio station.
Tuff reasoning family 💯💯💯
This guy right here is a prime example of why dancehall is going to the dogs.
Exactly he’s corny and self centered
He definitely does know much about soca so I wouldn’t judge him
@@Dettaclan4331 90% of them are like this
Anybody can go viral,🔥#believe
Money pull up is the new way of pulling up songs 🎵 is just how some of the selectors do it ,remember before money pull up once a big songs play in the dancehall it pull up many times without a cent
Know seh Dancehall gone to the dog with them young producer ya.
Jaifrais a real youth eno 😂😂😂😂😂
Mac say fuss nation kyle say ratty😆

Jaiifrais a takeover memba good nuh mon ✅🍾
Know long me a try reach to mac
deh ya enuh mi fada
Several recent dancehall projects nuh mix/master good….dat a 1 of the biggest problems why the reach limited
There is also a massive disconnect with the young and old ppl that love music because most young ppl not willing to listen or take telling . Jai is stating to him yes y’all doing good music but the music isn’t hitting like it did before .
Dodge charger? Dat nuh small.
U mixy AF 😂 but JAhshii is a great guy glad to see this type of loyalty.
Yo Mac right about skillibeng
Dj Mack a young fool
Jai u need to interview Byron Messia
Bad artist
Vent
The rasta bredda need fi turn a artist cause....
Dancehall needs structure and once it has structure then more money will be made however because you have so much disconnect then the music different.
Jaii we want a interview with Skeng
Dancehall has lost its reach because its no longer a distinct music. If you listen to the riddim alone, just the instrumental, you wouldnt be able to tell if you were listening to dancehall or hip hop. People are also looking for feel good music right now which is why afrobeats is winning- dancehall and hip hop are too dark for the most part. Afrobeats is also winning because it is a unique sound due to its blend of the best of hip hop, dancehall, r&b, and african music.
Sound sound sound !!!! But we will talk on my episode cuz it’s not money that’s missing
It's money for the artistes that already has the sound
Jai can see the bigger picture clearer than the artists and producers. Crazy
One thing about dj ma him riddim dem therapeutic when him and law boss team up its beautiful thing 🤲 consistency jai giving voice to who needed a funnel
Hey bwoy yuh fi reach out to Beenie man, shaggy and Sean paul even Shabba Ranks
Mi no like this interview💯
DJ Mac a bad bad Producer.
*🤦🏾♂️*
😂😂😂 yuh fi dweet yute
1Mac🎹
G you start a do the interview them an a come with a dictator style russian a russian but as a producer a man might believe inna himself and him work an know say one day him thing ago crossover if a that him a seek fi achieve. G alot of things you nuh understand about the music especially on the inside aspect of it. Fi dancehall go international bro it ago tek alot of things to make it happen g an one of the main thing is money bro INVESTORS the music need if not you affi give it TIME G remember is a new sound dancehall music gone to now it ago take a time to reach the listerns ears. G nuh feel nuh way either because me respect yuh work.
Gwaan go hail bob marley son
Man dem (artists, producers) are making THEIR art... if it wah do numbers or not is fi dem craft. None a them never say dem a come inna dancehall fi save dancehall or try be like nuh next man. Before reggae did buss man dem did haffi try a thing dont?...my point is nothing happens overnight and all who a criticize the man dem lyrics not making music or doing anything to make dancehall bigger. Also if soca never big you wouldnt have carnival in miami, Toronto and nuff a the caribbean. Afro beats nave a global festival like Soca does
People used to criticize trap music when it just came out saying hip-hop is going downhill but look where it is now
Sean Paul, shaggy, and shabba ranks is to be blame cause they didn't set the Platform when they went international
lol who set the platform for them? Plus them young artists ya no take talk or listen to the elders
Dang it rough pon the yonger generation 😢. I could be wrong but who mek man to woman song in the yonger generation. Crazy to think you never dance pon a girl
One jaii frais u sight
He rights with soca
SMH.
🙏👈🇯🇲👈
Why dancehall nah reach no way e get shadow band because of burning off gay people
Dancehall dont burn dem again, weh yuh say about 15 years ago and dem time deh music di more global
@@kemarg5149 Yh but the ppl way put the blockage pon e nuh want e reach specific white ppl country and 15yrs pass yes but they still alive
@@Trapsta123 mi did a say even fr dem time deh tho fire did a bun u did still av songs a mek it out
We not with the dirty agenda lol I figured
Bro as a producer dj Mack nuh ready fi d big league man ask bout Beenie lol pon a real the man just believe in the new era 😂😂😂😂
Jaii dancehall caah stall are fall of it's not about collab with only international artists local collabs can hit big to ,dj mac u are the new producer now but doing ur research and also watch some of the longtime podcasts on the entertainment industry etc
Frass your obsession giving u tunnel vision.America and Jamaica a different dynamic.Cant compare.
bro the moment yuh seh soca bigger than reggae a di moment mi realize yuh terribly mis-informed or unequivocally naïve you said soca is elite and you are right because the average person dont have millions to waste on a soca costume so my question is who is the mass in the Caribbean the elite as yuh put it or the regular man weh listen reggae and dancehall? bro Thanks for correcting him Jaii cuz trust mi bro the man seh him a dj and him nuh grow up on listening beenie man jeh jeh lol that laughable the baby pan breast know beenie no caps
