Your welcome ;-)
One of my favorite types of videos you do! I love checking out these homebrew :)
I haven't touched Gameboy in ages, but thanks to you and your channel, I'm playing games again.
I always love seeing videos about new games for retro consoles
I love hearing about all those new Game Boy games getting released so many years later. They are fantastic and look incredibly fun to play.

Me: LETS FREAKIN GOOOOOOO!!!
Let’s goooo!!! 🔥
@@RetroBreakLet's go!
Sorry you found the game confusing but great you managed to find the items! 😄 It's definitely more an 'arty' or 'atmospheric' game, going for emersion into the source's visual strangeness, rather then straightforward story & reward. Thanks for checking it out!
For anyone who's curious about Game Boy Camera photos, it's great fun and you don't need much to get started. Can recommend it to anyone!
Great games :)
Thanks for the video!
I'm glad to see another video like this, homebrew is great.
Very cool. Thanks for doing this.
Ooooh this was a really interesting video. I didn't know there was such a thriving community of Gameboy Homebrew till I started making my own haha so many games to check out! Thanks! :D
Wow you only just found out? I’ve done 38 of these videos now! There’s so much out there! Good luck with your game :)
@@RetroBreak Haha I'm kinda new to all of this XD I only discovered GB Studio was a thing recently. And thanks! I'm happily a subscriber of your channel now to see more of this awesome coverage!
Wonderful video as usual sir. I see you're approaching 40k subscribers, which is very just 👏. That surrealist game with its little art booklets looks particularly interesting. Speaking of which, pre-ordered a new book recently that you might get a kick out of as well: "Run and Jump: The Meaning of the 2D Platformer" by Peter D. McDonald.
Yesss not long to go till 40k now! Got an exciting video planned for the milestone! :D
@@RetroBreak right on right on 🤘😎
@@RetroBreak Nice !
you should play the physical version of repugnant on stream :0 this time you can 100% it! (plus all the bug fixes and improvements)
I was just thinking of a game like Ant Man where you shrink down in size. So I may have to check out Alice Sisters on the GBC. I love Mega Man 2, so I will have to check out Repungant Bounty as well. I love saying, Release the Krakken! So I am not sure why I have not gotten a copy of From Below Pocket yet, I'll have to correct that! Thanks for the Retro Break!
Love the homebrew vids! Always sad when they are disappointing though, sorry to hear that.
Have you heard of/plan to look at mayor of sanctuary or kudzu yet? Both look interesting and would love to hear your views!
Thank you for the brilliant videos
Thanks! Yes I’m getting both of them soon. Incube8 is sending be a selection of new games and I backed Kudzu on Kickstarter :)
@@RetroBreak amazing, can't wait!!!
GB Studio has single-handedly made Game Boy homebrew popular. Now you don't need to learn how to write a game in Z80 assembly anymore!
You haven’t had to use Assembly for Gameboy since the late 90’s when GBDK was introduced, there was already a bunch of great homebrew games made in GBDK before GB Studio released (many I’ve covered on the channel!) GB Studio definitely helped people get into it without programming experience but the homebrew scene would still be fine without it. Out of the 7 games in this episode, only 4 were made in GB studio. The rest were programmed in C
I'm waiting for my Game Boy Advance cart of Goodboy Galaxy, but I've already played a bunch of it via emulation as I got the rom for free, and it's REALLY great. I'm sure you already know about it, but it does deserve to be checked out!
I’m waiting for my physical version :)
Have you done a review on year 2031? Post apocalyptic game. The dev is doing a 2nd physical release on the 22/2/2024. Ive been playing it and enjoying it. Would like to get your thoughts.
No matter how much I search on the limited run games page, I can't find the children of tydes game.
can you help me please?
doesnt see my game Nyghtmare the Ninth King there...sad...XC
Can these games run on original hardware?
Goodboy Galaxy complete 100% Game
I don't get Limited Run. They seem to mess up their products all the time, how can they still garner so much hype?
Because no one else is doing what they do, there’s no alternative for a lot of the games they produce
@@RetroBreak There's Incube8.
For Homebrew yeah, but not regular retro releases, no one makes special editions as good as limited run
Check us New game "Sergio Kidd"
These new Game Boy games are like "Hey, it's not that I'm learning how to code, so this isn't a shty game; it's just the design I intended". The system is capable of so much more. Games like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Gaiden, Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, and the list goes on. But these people keep on releasing these very low effort games... If these were released on PC, there wouldn't even be a video talking about them. They release them on Game Boy and suddently it deserves attention :/
PS.: since I know the internet in general is super emotional, lemme just say this: this comment is in no way, shape or form an attack towards the youtuber RetroBreak.
I know where your coming from, I did struggle with bringing attention to the lower quality releases, but I came to the conclusion that it’s still better to show them and talk critically about them so the devs can learn and improve. In this episode I was especially frustrated at the lack of quality - ruclips.net/video/C5bRhpkrC0E/видео.htmlsi=cbvzud1UMvhZ--R4
While it'd be nice to see a game push the system like Resident Evil and such, there's nothing wrong with simple games as long as they're interesting or fun.
@@RetroBreak Nice. You get it! I'm watching this link now. Haha. Oof. The quality of those games are even worse. You made me laugh when you kinda cringed at one of the games and you didn't recommend it.
I dropped a like on both videos, btw.
@@Vulpas yeah, by all means, do simple games. I like simple ideas because they just work. But the level of effort in these games... Nope. At least not for me.
are you really comparing indie game made by one man on its day off, with international company made games like konami and capcom ? it's like saying "oh look at these students making water rockets in their garden, what a shame when you see what nasa can do!" ... that is ridiculous
I’m looking for a Gameboy advance sp model ags101 can anyone recommend me where I can get it legitimately without getting scammed please.
