also, i enjoy the ambient sounds of the flight crew prior to and during flight... light chatter, cabinets clicking shut, music, announcements, bells, etc. i find it relaxing.
Very pleased that you enjoyed JAL. I worked for them many years ago and I am so pleased to see that they are returning to their deserved position as one of the premier airlines. FYI JAL was the first airline to have an onboard camera showing the runway during take off and landing, the first to offer the "oshibori" wet towel, first to fly non-stop between Japan and Europe and the first to have an automated boarding system with magnetic strips on the boarding cards. It might have also been the first to offer onboard wear as well in the 70s with the Happi coats (a half length kimono style open jacket to wear over your clothes)
Thank you for watching the video and the comment. Very glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the additional information you have provided. It really was a great experience.
I always love japans culture and they always bow when a plane leaves! But great video every time I do a long haul flight I always do first class so I watch these videos to get me excited for them! Thank you!
The captain said "Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for flying with Japan Airlines. This is captain speaking. This plane left the spot once but the was a trouble at a navigation system(?). So we go back to the spot and have some maintenance. The prospect of departing time will be decided by the meeting with the maintenance man.We apologize for the delay. Please wait until the next announcement. Thank you for flying with us today." I'm not good at English, so this might be wrong. Sorry:(
Really enjoyed this trip report! Watched every minute of it. JAL service is spectacular, love the attention to detail. Looking forward to the next report! Hope all is well at your end!
the Luxury Travel Expert Wahey! two of the favourite travel channels I watch commenting to each other. Fantastic! Once I've learnt how to edit videos, I'm actually planning on doing videos similar to these thanks to both of your influences. All the best, keep up the fantastic work & of course keep well!
Thank you for watching and the comment. I wish you the best of luck in making some future trip reports and look forward to watching them. Let us know when you have one uploaded.
Loved the wagyu, snacks and that cool designed coffee mug. Besides that it was the bed making, the clouds and the sunset! Thanks again f making these videos!
This is too funny ...so I'm relaxing having a glass of wine watching this video. About the time I'm ready to sip some wine you're on screen with a glass of champaign sort of raising it to the camera in a toast....so I raised my glass back at ya...it was just perfect timing it as if we were toasting each other....hahaha...liked the video...wish you would have described the trip though.
I experienced JAL 1st class LHR to HND retuning to Japan 2 yeas ago. I also enjoyed the flight. This video reminds me of the nice flight. Thanks for this great video.
Thanks for the video. I like watching these, especially during the quarantine, somehow it makes me feel like I've gone somewhere. Travel videos inspire me to travel as well. I did laugh at the shot from the bed, the way you're sitting there at first. Air travel is fascinating, the technology in it so mesmerizing! Nature-inspired machines doing what birds do effortlessly.
Thank you, yes this was my first time flying them in First Class and it was amazing, I had the chance to fly them again and will post that review at some point.
Your videos are so clear, and capture great detail. ( I sort of feel like I am there, experiencing it ) Also, the fact that you appear to truly enjoy the journeys makes it that much better, as some people take it for granted, at times. Safe travels and I look forward to many more videos of your adventures around the world.
After seeing several of your reports I have decided to subscribe. There is something calming about your inputs and I think you have a great sense of humor e.g. the fashion show at the loo. Good wind to you
JAL, the greatest airline in the world. It was Spring of 1976 and I was flying home from my duty station and didn't want to wait on a military transport so I booked my own flight. I flew commercial from Okinawa to Tokyo, had a 2-hour layover so I go in this bar at the airport and I see this young E-2 and a Navy Cheif sitting there having a drink. They invite me over and after a few minutes of chatting, they hear their boarding call. This young E-2 hands me his umbrella and told me he wasn't going to need it anymore. Now, here is where it gets really very strange. I don't remember anything after that except that I wake up in one of the Japanese style fibreglass cubicle beds. There is about a 6-inch tv above me playing Bonanza dubbed in Japanese. I had no idea where I was at. I climbed out of it and was in a small room about the size of a jail cell. I look around, I'm still in my dress blues with my jacket on and shirt hanging out. My seabag is there and my carry on, I look at my watch, look at my ticket and OH SHIT!! My plane is leaving in 10 minutes. I grabbed my shit, run down to the JAL ticket counter. The young girl looks at my ticket and she says, "two day ago". I'm like What?. She says again "Two day ago, this two day ago!!" I swear, I had no idea what was going on. She comes through the counter, grabs my carry on and tells me to hurry and follow her. We ran down this hall and went to customs, she says something to a guy standing there with a radio, he says something over the radio in Japanese. She says something to the customs guy, he says something back, she tells me to follow her, we go running out this door. There's this 747 sitting on the tarmac ready to head towards the taxiway. Here comes one of those ramps that is motorized. She tells me to get on with him and hands me my carry on bag. The guy drives me out to this plane, a stewardess opens the door, I go up the stairs and get on, she checks my ticket and tells me I can sit anywhere. I look around and I swear on my father's grave, the plane was freaking empty except for a young 2nd Marine Lt. He says "hey Doc have a seat" So I'm sitting next to this young 2nd Lt. we're talking, I tell him what happened. Come to find out, this plane was on it's way to pick up a charter in Anchorage then on to New York. We disembarked in Anchorage and caught our connecting flight to San Diego, then I connected to Indianapolis, then a commuter to my final destination. I had no way of getting home but there was another Chief Petty Officer with his wife and they offered to take me home in their cab. I know this may sound like a bullshit Sailor story, but it's not. The only thing I remember was after the E2 and Chief left, I ordered one more drink and that was it. Nothing until I woke up 3 days later. I still had my cash and nothing was missing. I think about how lucky I was especially after having served with the Marines as a field Corpsman. To be honest, after almost 43 years it is still disturbing and haunts me to this day. But God bless JAL.
Wm Cottrell I too was in the navy and I’ve got a similar story to about when I flew home from duty in 1981, with intercontinental flights, and a bizarre twist of fate....although the main difference is that I didn’t lose 2 days sleeping in a box!!😀👍🏻Go Navy!⚓️⚓️✈️
Was pleasantly surprised when you tried two types of rolls in the first meal service as you typically refrain from “abusing” the unlimited status like I tend to do! Lol. (29:00)
Love this Video. Travelling First in Oct but only Tokyo to Sapporo can't wait Your so lucky to have travelled on the longhaul First Product. Looks amazing.
Great video, that sure was flying in the lap of luxury. A hard or soft mattress pad, p.j.'s, wow, very impressive. I'll bet you never wanted to leave. Flight Attendants worked very hard, hope they had a good layover.
I used to teach young children, and one day the children asked to borrow ping pong bats. One child played the ground crew and the other the aeroplane. They invented all sorts of ping pong bat signals!! We the teachers silently ached laughing. I had memories of the film Airplane when a traveller on the tarmac asked where the duty free was. The ground crew directed them, but the plane crashed through the foyer windows. Hilarious stuff!!
lovely flight... and such a smooth landing. the service appeared so polite and professional... with lots of personal care. the "farewell" from the ground crew was delightful. i am curious if they would accommodate a more western style menu? There was little that appealed to me on this menu. thank you for your excellent videos!!!
Thank you for the comment, it was indeed a great flight, an airline I had always wanted to fly first class with. They could probably provide a more western style menu if you notify them in advance. I always love the ground crews in Japan
After viewing your recent JAL posts on Instagram, I was keen to revisit one of them here... what an amazing flight! Spectacular take-off footage (as always! 👏🏻) and fantastic food and drinks service... the choices are amazing, even down to the hard/soft mattress option for the bed. May all your flights be as cool as this one! Cheers. 👍
Mister Apple happened to me in business class air India. About 90 mins after boarding. We were ok they decided to do the dinner service. Felt sorry for the economy passengers they had to sit through it
A wonderful video, thanks....I have only flown Japan Airlines once in first class and I am afraid between Tokyo and Anchorage it wasn't as elaborate as your flight.
as someone who always flies economy, this is a total treat. the lounge, the food, the sleeper, all are wonderful. the price? please, i dont want to know!
I like the image quality of this video. What camera and mounting device did you use to record this? I did enjoy your full taxi experience departing and landing. Perhaps one day Google Street View will have Airport Taxiway View too.
To be exact the free-translation of PA by flight crew was that they found one of the NAV system defects so she need to go back to the bay for the rectification together with ground engineers. Looking forward to the coming premium class trips.
This is the second time here on RUclips that I've seen a JAL 77W being redirected back to the gate due to a ‘technical problem’. Is it because after JL123 that JAL has been consistently and overly precocious, or perhaps there are simply problems with its maintenance? I will be flying the same route this coming December, can't wait.
Very well done; thanks! I fly JAL often; mainly business class. With the Sydney and Jakarta flights changing from a 777-300 to a 787-900 aircraft, the first class is now limited to just a few routes so I have not had the chance to experience it yet. Lucky you! It looks like you stayed at the JAL City Haneda hotel? The announcement was difficult to understand due to the background noise, but I think he said something to the fact that they found an issue towards the rear of the aircraft so they were going back to the gate and consulting with maintenance to see how long the repairs will be. Glad to see that it was all fixed in a short amount of time. Keep on posting great videos; I look forward to seeing more of them.
Thank you for watching the video and the comment, yes JAL F class, like most F class products are becoming harder and harder to find as more airlines remove expensive first class seats in favor of more business class seats.
Absolutely the best travel video of it's kind I've EVER seen. Professionally filmed, edited without annoying music or narrative.! I will be a subscriber. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Michael. Very glad you enjoyed the video. I would say you might prefer my longer cut videos as on the shorter ones I talk. So just a heads up.
Probably the longest taxi way experience I have seen on a video please consider fast forwarding that so I can see inflight info. Thanks for good channel. :)
Thank you for the comment and watching. I make several versions of my videos and I do shorter ones, but there is also music in them. Here is the shorter version. ruclips.net/video/0rYdE-6JVtM/видео.html
The Japanese service is the best in the world. Seen different top notched airlines, and none can compete with JAL in terms of service. The food is great, but I have seen some airlines with equally great food.
also, i enjoy the ambient sounds of the flight crew prior to and during flight... light chatter, cabinets clicking shut, music, announcements, bells, etc. i find it relaxing.
Glad you enjoyed it , thank you again for watching.

Wow. You have very interesting things to add. Thank you.
Thank you for watching the video and the comment. Very glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the additional information you have provided. It really was a great experience.
Shiv Grib my dad always said JAL was the best but he knows them from the 70's
I really like your flight videos without commentary. They are so zen, I feel really relaxed. My version of mindfulness
Thank you, very glad you enjoyed them.
I always love japans culture and they always bow when a plane leaves! But great video every time I do a long haul flight I always do first class so I watch these videos to get me excited for them! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching it and the comment.
I enjoy your reviews more then most peoples, as you show all of it.
Thank you and travel safe !
Thank you.

Thanks for letting us know ! and thank you for watching and the comment
ふみふみ Well if it was only the nav system, I'm sure they would have ended up someplace nice.
Much appreciated
Thank you!
Yikes! the navigation system????? I would probably be better off not knowing that if I was on board. That would of flipped me out!
Really enjoyed this trip report! Watched every minute of it. JAL service is spectacular, love the attention to detail. Looking forward to the next report! Hope all is well at your end!
Thank you as always Zuhair, glad you enjoyed this video and thank you for watching.

The ground crew are so cute waving the aircraft off 😂💜
I know, it always makes me smile when I see it.
Loved the wagyu, snacks and that cool designed coffee mug. Besides that it was the bed making, the clouds and the sunset! Thanks again f making these videos!

Awesome trip report! The service was excellent, especially the food. The sunset view was gorgeous

Best so far in my opinion, keep up the great work!
Thank you for watching and the comment. More coming soon.
I flew JAL many times from Seattle to Narita, good service and good food and it’s affordable airline ticket, I hope one day I’ll fly first class.
Thank U for showing plane descending thru the clouds, Ur wonderful.
Thank you for the comment and watching.
I experienced JAL 1st class LHR to HND retuning to Japan 2 yeas ago. I also enjoyed the flight. This video reminds me of the nice flight. Thanks for this great video.

Love this video. I live in Yokohama and JAL is one of my favourites.
Excellent, thanks again for watching.

I really enjoyed your video! I think air travel like this is almost a kind of art form, really beautiful. Loved the waving ground crew-really classy!!
Thank you Mark, glad you enjoyed it.
love all the details and the shot of the clouds with the sun coming up
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
For me, this is the perfect flight video! Kudos!
Thank you Jim. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment.
@@Whenitraveltheworld no info about suit and no tour inside the plane like other you tubers,,, sorry,,, thums down 👎👎👎
Awesome video, James! My dream trip is to fly JAL first class to Tokyo, then eat my way across Japan to Hokkaido, then back. Enjoy your travels!

Thank you for the comment, it was indeed a great flight, an airline I had always wanted to fly first class with. They could probably provide a more western style menu if you notify them in advance. I always love the ground crews in Japan
when the co pilot says "I don't know what the captain just said " it really builds your confidence
yeah ! I agree with you there.
Those meals and dessert you've had on the flight are about same amount as much as I eat for a week!!
Yes its a lot of food to take in.
Rest of the video was Very Good.
Thank you, please note you watched the extended cut.
Again, love your videos bro!
Thanks, glad you like them.
This is a great video!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Captain announcement:Ladies and Gendlemen, enjoy your flight. After three minutes: We hope you enjoyed the flight😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol
After viewing your recent JAL posts on Instagram, I was keen to revisit one of them here... what an amazing flight! Spectacular take-off footage (as always! 👏🏻) and fantastic food and drinks service... the choices are amazing, even down to the hard/soft mattress option for the bed. May all your flights be as cool as this one! Cheers. 👍
Yes i'm looking forward to making the video of my second time flying this, it was just as good as the first.
When I Travel The World Great to hear!
Loved the video!!
Thank you.
And thx a lot for your very details reviews. Really enjoy it and all the best to you too. Gbu🙏😇
Thank you, glad you enjoy them.
Again, with the problems, an excellent first class flight!
Japanese are very nice people anyways. I can bet even the economy class service in Japan would be excellent!
I agree with you, I would like to try their Economy service.
They are actually.
Would love to travel with jal
It is!
Japanese service and hospitality in economy is as good as it is in First Class.
I'd be perfectly fine with that 45 minute delay if I'm first class...
I had no complaints
Mister Apple happened to me in business class air India. About 90 mins after boarding. We were ok they decided to do the dinner service. Felt sorry for the economy passengers they had to sit through it
yup.
@@littletraveller5428
That's why first class exists. No need to feel sorry. Most people understand their place.

Thanks! Nearly broke my keyboard there....by drooling uncontrolably over this video....😆
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.
素晴らしい動画でした。また、楽しみにしています。
Thank you, glad you like it.
Great video 👍
Thank you.
Video is excellent as it is nor shaky or blurry. Is the PJ always big size or it made for your size.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
I have to say that 31:20 to 31:33 is one of the most amusing pieces of aviation footage I have seen!!
LOL glad you enjoyed it.
That food looked so DAMN GOOD
Great Video TYVM

sososo nice!
as someone who always flies economy, this is a total treat. the lounge, the food, the sleeper, all are wonderful. the price? please, i dont want to know!
Thanks for watching and the comment. Well the retail price is high, but the price I paid...well just $5.60 in TAX and a few miles.
I like the image quality of this video.

I did enjoy your full taxi experience departing and landing. Perhaps one day Google Street View will have Airport Taxiway View too.

French press coffee? Wow!
At least in business or first delays are bearable.
Great video

I flown economy from Narita to US and the service is excellent
Excellent, glad to know they rock in Economy also.
Probably the longest taxi way experience I have seen on a video please consider fast forwarding that so I can see inflight info.
Thanks for good channel. :)
Thank you for the comment and watching. I make several versions of my videos and I do shorter ones, but there is also music in them. Here is the shorter version.

The Japanese service is the best in the world. Seen different top notched airlines, and none can compete with JAL in terms of service. The food is great, but I have seen some airlines with equally great food.
This video made me your subscriber #16000. :D
Excellent, thanks for subscribing.
