Wow, who knew a long snapper and holder played such a huge role in the kicking game. Kickers get all the credit and leave you wondering why every NFL team has a dedicated LS spot on the team, but it all makes sense. That trio is an absolute unit.
Brandon Aubrey is incredible, and possibly the best in the league, But a guy like Dicker The Kicker is also breaking records, though not as fun to watch. There will never be a kicker as clear ahead of competition as Tucker was in his best years, the field has caught up. Just look at the first pure Kisker in the Hall of Fame, Morten Andersen. He routinely made Pro Bowls and All Pro teams kicking in the 70's and low 80's - That would get you fired this decade.
Vinatieri is probably going to the hall. He is 35th all time in FG%. Every single person ahead of him on that list started their careers after him. All but 2 (Phil Dawson and Mike Vanderjagt) started after 2000. Half of them are still active. The top 7 are all still active. Morten Andersen already is in the hall, and his career FG% is worse than every single active kicker. Hall of Famer Morten Andersen would get cut in 2024. It's really crazy just how kicking improved so much, so fast, across the entire league.

Justin Tucker has been my favorite kicker since childhood, I really don't think a few unusual misses is anything more than that. If I need a 50+ yarder attempted, he is the only man I fully trust to do it still. Justin will always be the best, no matter what happens but I think he has got plenty of good kicks left in him.

I have Tucker in Fantasy. I am highly considering dropping him because these 3 are still on waivers in week 5 !! Chase Mclaughlin, Austin Seibert, Younghoe Koo - Leaning toward Seibert due to Offense and Accuracy. Then again the same could be said for Chase Mclaughlin. Koo - I don't like when a kicker is high ranked because he has a 20 point game one week. I like a solid 10-15 pts per week as an average not an up and down rollercoaster.

The NFL has been manipulating field goals for many years using magnetic technology in the ball and uprights. I can't be the only one who has noticed the dramatic rise in the number of kicks that hit the post or crossbar in the past 10-15 years or so. It was an extremely rare occurrence in the 80s and 90s. Now it happens multiple times nearly every weekend.
I would slow the roll on the Aubrey era, until he makes big kicks in big post season scenarios. The Ravens had Bully Cundiff, who missed his last big kick with the Ravens in the AFC Championship game. This opened the door for Tucker to take the reins the following pre-season. Tucker was immediately forced to make big post-season kicks the following year, when the Ravens went to and won the Super Bowl. The era then began. No doubt Aubrey can bomb kicks and will probably break the longest kick record. He hasn't had the post-season pressure yet though.

in regards to Cole; stout replaced koch. cole and stout have played right down the middle on their stats. this isnt a raiders vs cowboys media love hate relationship.

Surprised you didn't mention his in division rival Chris Boswell who currently is the most accurate kicker over 50 yards and is just a couple percentage points below Tucker in alltime with far less games played
So his % will only fall as time goes on. Boswell is a good kicker but he's not on JT level.
@@mytwosense9135 Not necessarily and even if it does it probably won't drop that much. Boswell is only a year younger than Tucker and he's still in his prime. Tucker has and will continues to drop, Bos is definitely on Tucks level

Can't say he's the best. Adam V made bigger kicks in the clutch. So, imo, Adam V is the goat kicker.
You forget the easy misses from Adam V which inevitably led to him needing to make those “clutch kicks” pretty sure he has the most missed field goals in SB history.
