    This is a mix of the actual train, CGI, miniatures, and purpose-built full scale props.

      Not a lick of CGI in the scene. All physical in camera effects and miniatures.

    Here is a scene that was absolutely brilliantly made exciting in editing. The power of editing is phenomenal. Look at the way they repeated the snap from different angles and created visual rhythm along with the building rhythm of the sound effects (which are awesome). It was subtle yet smart to drop the music here. Look at the way they stretched out the very end with it skidding on its side down the street. It could have just been the one shot , yet - it picks up wide from the side. Then picks up extremely close from the front. Then close OTS. Then back to the first shot which was either split in half or two similar takes….and it works! You’re almost sorry that it stops once it finally does.
    That’s great editing. That’s an epic summer movie experience - and it was. I remember. I was 4 when we saw it on the big screen back in ‘94. Nothing has topped that since - and this scene truly elevated the movie beyond just great. 👏🏽

    Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had amazing chemistry. It's a shame Annie broke up with Jack sometime following the events of Speed.

  • @eyeseer1
    @eyeseer1 2 месяца назад +6

    Keanu Reeves was 28 into 29 in 1993.
    Sandra Bullock was 27 into 28 in 1993.
    Speed was released in 1994.
    Speed hits 30 years later in 2024.

      Down here where I live between Disney World and Daytona beach, we have the 'Sunrail' train, I used to ride it a lot, on the open stretch, I've clocked them with GPS doing over 80MPH, lol! At those speeds on a train, it literally feels like you are going to fly right off of the tracks

    @stewartmatthews1551 5 месяцев назад +3

    This train is a beast one thing I can say about trains is that once they move on the tracks there is nothing stopping it you can put a tank in front of it and it will still keep going 😊

      Yes, i know, one of my first jobs was driving locomotives around the steel mill in Cleveland Ohio back in the early 2000's. We actually used california beach sand in between the wheels and track to slow them down if we were pulling loads

      @@stewartmatthews1551 Ah! That's heartwarming. My younger brother is autistic, but way in the middle, 90's style, he didn't talk till he was nearly 10yo, he can talk now, at 30yo, but very slowly very bad reading and writing, not the sevaugnt or however you spell that, but can tell you dates of events, what he ate on ex date of what year, at white time of day, can tell you the celestial alignments even, but could never understand how numbers work, or the definition of a word, he relies on our uses of the words

      @@ThinkingForward-we1ql that's good to know believe it or not I am a high functioning autism I can speak and interact and get along with everyone so is my friend from work we go together like strawberry and banana smoothie that's really awesome that you have someone in you're family that's autistic because back then in the 90s autism was unknown at the time know in 2024 autism is worldly known now and it is really amazing to see ways doctors can see if you are autistic I hope that your sibling with autism gets all the care he needs because as long as he has a good support system then things will be good

      @@stewartmatthews1551 Oh yes, absolutely, he is good these days. he actually drives and stuff now, he can't work a job, but he is good. I'm not autistic, but suffered many childhood traumas which caused me to have DID (dissociative identity disorder) which causes the brain to make partitions like a computer hard drive, luckily most of the bad stuff is blocked out like a defense mechanism in my brain, but occasionally i black out and negativity happens, have lost a lot of friends, but i think of it as my disorder is eliminating the people who make me feel bad as part of the defense mechanism, idk if it is a blessing or a curse, lol, all i know is im smiling and im happy
