My name is Ra'sheed Rama'khan. I am a professional Trumpet player and recording Artist. I've studied with Many great Jazz instructors. One such influence was the legendary Dr. Donald Byrd. Your concept and tonality remind me of the discipline he instilled in our practice. You truly bring the spirit of the Absolute Devine Lord to your work. You are definitely One of the Curators of music. You have kk kept Dr. Byrds sacrid commandment. You maintained your heritage in your artistry. Dr. Byrd would often speak to us about the continuance of history in playing trumpet. He said " those that forget their Heritage have forgotten the face of thier Fathers.
You definitely have not forgotten. Thank Dr McGuire. You are a Master uncrowned

Lord you are my example to follow I greatly admire your way of playing and interpreting your voice on the trumpet ... I wish you the best... I always listen to his music... I'd love to meet him if he could... no English spoken... I don't even know if you will read this message but if so I want you to know that in Chile you are respected and admired... Affection and good faith.

Ok guys here you go... Jesse McGuire here. #1. I can play double C all day long... all night long... in my sleep! #2. That's a heavy Bach trumpet and a Schilke mouthpiece. The horn is going to play out of tune! Slide is WAYYY out, because I tend to play on top of the note, unless of course, I'm playing my Bach 3C with my Bach 72. Susan Chitra commented below, and she hit the nail on the head with her erudite diagnosis of my sound. Oh, did I mention... I'm missing a tooth right in the center of my chops!!!! DIDN'T YOU SEE THAT? Watch me talk at the beginning of the video. I went the dentist with all my teeth, I left the dentist with two teeth sitting on a tray, and I had a trip planned for Brazil, South America in 8 days! I did this video missing a two teeth!!! I did a tour of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerias, Brazil, South America missing two teeth, and one was from the center of my chops! I had 8 days to re-learn how to play the trumpet! Do you know what that would do to most lead players? End their careers, that's what. I've had an implant put in, since then. You know, I could make a ton of money getting in my tour bus, and doing clinics teaching trumpet players how to play injured, and not do further damage! You should read my book, "Play Your Trumpet With Power." @jessemcguire.com Hey, I love you all, never stop playing your horn...it will take you all over the world, introduce you to people you've only read about, and it will open doors that old money cannot! I"m a living witness, Game 7 of the World Series, 2001 is the proof of that! My advice? It's better to play sharp than to play flat. It's better to play too fast than to drag. If you miss a note, repeat it, but NEVER play the WRONG note! Practice for the gig you want, not the gig you have! Finally, warming up with LOW LONG TONES will save you, every time! Thank you all for your comments. It's 4:45 am and I almost never comment on my own posts. I can't sleep, excited about picking up my new tour bus today. Call me sometime... we'll talk trumpet!

I’m not sure why your tuning slide being out that far is a big deal. Any schilke mouthpiece I have ever played compared to anything else needs the slide to be pulled out. They are so sharp.

it's clear hahahaha from the sound he uses a tight mouthpiece, small throat, relatively shallow cup. He needs lots of slide to center the pitch lower.
