Best review of the GT4 RS, both on track and day to day road use. That sound, the gear changes is certainly the most track inspired GT car out there. Simply the best. The new yardstick to measure all GT cars by. Porsche has come the full circle, building a car that traces its origins back to the original #001 The still born and epic 916 and the 914/6 GT. Yes the 911 is great , but this mid engine takes the cake, the icing and the cherry.
Awesome car, but nearly impossible to get without a $100K markup here in the US. It does make you wish Porsche would offer a shorter gear ratio option for the regular GT4. Who wouldn’t check the box for an extra $5K or so? Keep in mind that the GT4 pdk version’s gearing is only a tiny bit shorter than the manual car - nothing like the RS

I loved the cabin shots, watching the passenger racing harness shifting from side to side and backwards and forwards during cornering, acceleration and braking. Great video! It’s a pity I’ll never get to own a car such as this.
That was brilliant only did you do the on track stuff but you took it off road and drove it normally which all of the other videos aren’t they just phoning everywhere. For me you need to know that you can go down the road and get your fish and chips in it and not get shaken to pieces or come out with a sore back. Brilliant video mate keep doing what you’re doing.

Great review. Helpful. Bringing in the GT4 was a good idea. The Weissach package seems overkill. Too much carbon fibre and cost that brings the price up to that of a GT3. Next we need a GT3 v GT4RS comparison. Please.
And now, last but not least, my 3rd and final back to back to back GT4RS review tonight (Rory, Matt Farah at TheSmokingTire here in Cali and then you) and the only one to show it on the road...always fun with your reviews bro - sure you didn't have an accident in your pants when you were shifting? hehe. Good way to end my night here. All 3 gentlemen had loads of fun in this one - does make me feel sad about ICE cars going away despite my low car IQ. But as you said, so amazing to know cars like this exist even at this stage.
I missed out on the GT3 and was depressed for a month. However I have an allocation for the GT4RS and I can't be happier, I will spec it up to the hilt. I would rather have the Porsche badge instead of the sticker and drive around wearing socks to save weight!!!!
That is a wonderful.y engaging car….but I doubt many will ever get the chance to buy one..and those that do will park it for three months then sell for double the price…I just hope some get driven daily and reach 100,000 smile filled miles! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🙂🙂🙂
Basically the cayman gt4 is already mental, but porsche gt division decided to make this car to another level and that level is almost gt3 territory. For me, the gt4rs is more worth it than the gt3. Just think of it, 500 hp on the cayman vs 510 hp on the 911 and there's a price gap almost 28k pound and you only get 10 more horsepower on the 911
what about hearing issues? This thing is screaming at 109 decibels which is hearning impairment level. People are reporting headaches. ?? Any comment on that?
From a purely functional perspective, the mid-engine Cayman is a better performer than the 911. Porsche refused to install a LSD into the Cayman concerned it'd lay waste to the more prestigious 911. OMG, what has come over the motoring journos? Not this guy, but the printed media wallies that bemoan the lack of a manual gearbox in many cars. They all are drooling over this GT4 RS and hardly mention the PDK. Having the PDK means you can keep both hands on the wheel, which you will need when this thing gets going. The CEO of Ferrari said that a manual gearbox is a ‘Nostalgic’ choice as , in the real world, nobody wants to be pushing pedals and waggling sticks on the A34 ( choose your own road) in a traffic jam.

Really not fair that normal people can't just buy this at MSRP.. You have to be some extra superstar and play political games with the brand. An attractively priced sports car, that you will never get to have, unless you pay someone that is already incredibly wealthy and well connected, a hefty sum on top of what they purchased it for. The gatekeeping is really off-putting, but not like they care about us anyway..
Just call these cars automatics. It’s ridiculous! Real drivers wanted a manual transmission! Once again Porsche proves making money is more important than give fans what they want. Lap times are meaningless when a Tesla family car will crush a $500,000 HyperCar.
