In my childhood I always listened to this CD and loved it. Today, I listen to it and I think that the composer was way ahead of his time when doing it.
The track that starts playing at 15:14 is underrated and forgotten! It was only released as a single and it’s harder to find than any other versions of the MK themes done by the Immortals now. I think it’s simply called “Mortal Kombat Mix”. It’s pretty much a remix of Hypnotic House.
It was always my favorite of the songs as well.
Love this find, I had no idea there was another mix of hypnotic house.
Too bad Mortal Kombat 2 was never on sega cd, I would've love to hear the tracks that sounds arcade perfect.
Nope, but you do get awesome rearrangements by Matt Furniss for the Genesis version, and a cool atmospheric soundtrack on the SNES version.
There's a Sega Saturn version of 2 that plays pretty shitty with all the load times, but at least it has the original soundtrack that's close to arcade perfect.
@@rhettoric No. The Soundtrack in Saturn and PS1 versions is the MS-DOS tracks, from a Roland Sound Canvas (in Saturn Version) and Gravis UltraSound (PS1 Version).
That's why Saturn version have shitty soundtrack
@@zanegandini5350 I agree that we still had excellent versions of MK2. But, overall if Sega had skipped the 32x and spent that time working on a Sega Saturn with full backwards compatibility to the Sega CD &/or Genesis they’d still be making consoles right now.
@@roldanrosario8292 The Saturn was never, ever, ever going to have full backwards compatibility with the Sega CD. Sega released a Sega CD & Genesis all in one in 1994 and it cost $400. A Sega Saturn with a built in Genesis and Sega CD would have cost more than the 3DO because of how poorly designed the Genesis/CD was.

Honestly, I think Matt Furniss did a better job with his Genesis conversions of Dan Forden's songs than Dan actually did in the arcade originals, they're far more memorable for me.

I just bought a used copy of Sega CD Mortal Kombat 1 (but I don't yet have a Sega CD but I now have an excuse to find 1 if having a Sega Genesis alone isn't enough).

Can I listen to the music tracks on the CD by putting the CD into a standard CD player (like a house or car stereo) like I can PlayStation Mortal Kombat 3 & Mortal Kombat Trilogy?
Yes just go past Track 1 which is the actual game play and then track 2 from then on out. And make sure you rip the tracks to mp3 so you can put them on Ipod. or in your pc or mac.
